A list of puns related to "Sign On"
Think about it. They did not do this lightly. They have had LOADS of time to prepare for this. And even IF they are "overwhelmed" in some way, they have plenty of ways to get through that.
Furthermore, we are a LOT smaller group than some of you seem to think. We are not going to crush their server or flood them with things they can't sift through to reach the actual good stuff. And even if we could, they can solve that problem, its not that big a challenge compared to a lot of the other things they are doing. And even IF they can't solve it, they can at some point tell us to please not do it, and we'd stop. Its that simple.
The worst thing we can do is DISCOURAGE people who have something to contribute to GameStop's new thing (marketplace, whatever...) by spreading this kind of FUD.
I myself am a creative person. I have some things that I have created, and I have ideas for things that might belong in whatever this NFT thing they're doing is. And yet, I felt discouraged by this FUD. I felt, surely what I create can't be of any real value to them. That wrong idea was directly supported by this subreddit's front page. These posts on our front page discouraged me.
I'm going to muster the confidence to actually fill out the form and submit it. Eventually. But this message NEEDS to be heard here. Yall are doing harm with this FUD.
For those who are considering and haven't decided, or even have: you will not harm anything. Your meme is valid. Your weird quirky idea is valid. Your writing is valid. Your sound bite is valid. Your animated image is valid. All of these things are valid! Especially the ones they actually listed!
If you agree, spread this message. I don't care if this post gets upvoted, but the message does need to be spread.

This is a lesson my father tried to teach me young, but I didn't listen - and I'm paying the price now.
As a young person, I was always interested in taking "artsy" shots of random signs, filming random juggling acts on the sidewalk, etc. when we were on vacation. He said that in the future, I won't care about the pictures of random things (that there are thousands of higher-quality versions online of) - I'll care about pictures of my family and friends I love. Now that I'm older, he couldn't be more right. I have SO many pictures of random birds, 20 pictures of sky + water of me trying to get the "perfect shot" with my dinky phone camera... and I am deleting them all. Pictures of my family eating ice cream, or posing, or laughing? Those are the ones I care about. While I loved to take pictures and try to find good shots (and don't prevent yourself from having SOME fun with pictures), and I don't think EVERY shot you ever take needs to follow this creed, please learn the lesson I didn't and save your future self some headache.
Looking at you minivan who Iβm somehow always stuck behind turning south on Ashland from Division. Move it.
I'm not talking a child you know. I'm talking when a coworker brings in their kids on their day off and the little ones run up to you because you have your phone out and go "Do you have any games on your phone?"
WTF?
Why would a child think it's ok to randomly come up to a stranger and ask if they can use their very expensive minicomputer as a toy?? Or think that every person in the world is just going to hand them a phone with games on it because they are bored?? How have you let your child get to that point of entitlement?
Edit - just to clarify, I'm talking kids aged 8 and up. The kid in my story about the workplace was 9. And this does in fact happen with random kids of customers as well.
I've lived here for 4 years and never understood this. Is it overflow from the cell phone waiting lot? Uber drivers? And is it actually forbidden? There are signs calling it out but clearly not enforced.

The holocaust overtones are horrific. It honestly made my heart skip a beat. Sharing to spread awareness that Jewish people currently live in this country and do not appreciate these comparisons.
This is at "Q Foods" on the main street in Geraldine. It was in good company with the anti-vax sentiment displayed around most of the shops, but none were this out of line.
