A list of puns related to "Instrumentally"
Hi fellow Lord Huron lovers (TLDR at end of post). I have a big favor to ask. I donβt know if anyone here would be able to help but I thought it be worth a shot. Iβm a 25 y/o women and, at the beginning of October, I found out that my condition has now become terminal; weβre transitioning from symptoms management to end of life care. We donβt know exactly how much time I have left but a year is kinda the benchmark, could be more or could be less. During the last few years, Iβve spent countless time in the hospital getting surgeries or dealing with sepsis. This is where Lord Huron comes in.
The condition I have is genetic meaning Iβve had it my whole life but I was only diagnosed at 19 years old as my case had progressed drastically and rapidly, leading to more thorough investigations of the issue. When my symptoms started getting really bad, it was 2014 and I was away at university where my best friend introduced me to the Lonesome Dreams album. Once listen through and I was hooked. Soon enough, LH was the only band I was listening to; they became my favorite through and through.
Lord Huron carried me through so many difficult points in my life; my first year university exam season where I was trying to balance doctors appointments and studying, all while living nearly 2000km away from home. LH carried me through several months long hospital stays that felt like theyβd never end. LH carried me through very painful surgeries where I could barely speak from pain but their music helped the painfully slow time pass faster. LH comforted me after receiving bad news as I did the other day. Their music makes me feel safe and has been instrumental (pun completely intended) to help me coping through the hard time but also was the background music to the good times, blaring it in the car with my friend as we drive to the beach with the windows down and the wind blowing in my hair.
The long and short of it is, since I discovered Lord Huron in 2014, they have been the soundtrack to my life, helping me through the hard times and making the good times even better.
So why am I sharing this? Seeing Lord Huron in concert has been a dream of mine for a long time but I know itβs unrealistic as my body canβt handle traveling, itβs just not in the cards at this point. Theyβre coming on a Canadian tour in 2022 but only western Canada and I live all the way on the east coast. Since the concert wonβt be happening, I would really just like to send them a letter thanking the

every other post is somebody mentioning how Jules completely wrote the first two albums but I canβt find anything more concrete than just fans saying it word of mouth. plus, the only video Iβve ever seen of him playing guitar was that 11th dimension acoustic cover which he fucking sucked at. it feels like Iβm being gaslit. does anyone know for a fact?

Just in case you don't play any games; Persona 5, released 2016 in Japan, and 2017 worldwide is a JRPG (Japanese roleplaying game). I'm not going to go into details about the plot since we're here to talk about music, after all, and this isn't a game recommendation.
Let's talk genre first. I don't think there's a single genre the P5 OST could be locked into; the styles are way too diverse for that. Ranging from funky, upbeat jazz songs all the way to heavy metal - it has almost everything you can think of.
We could start off with the song that opens up the entire game and plays whenever you launch it, titled "Wake up, get up, get out there!". It's upbeat, and just like many other songs in the game, the main melody of it is played on a Rhodes piano, which is instrumental (pun intended) to the entire OST of this game as it features in most tracks, one way or the other. The composer then combined this melody with an undertune of string instruments, drums and an incredibly groovy bassline, and with vocals added to the mix, it sets the tone of the game perfectly. In my opinion, a perfect way to start off a game and set you in the right mood to play.
The Rhodes piano and string instruments combined with a technical bassline is the premise of many tracks on the OST, and it quite simply, works every time. Let's take the next song I want to highlight: "Last Surprise" which is the main battle theme of the game. Outside of boss battles, this is the only battle theme present in the game, so you'd most likely think it would get boring after hearing it for the tenth time; yet it doesn't. The energetic opening of strings, the bassline and then the drums coming in quickly make it just as exciting to hear for the hundredth time as well. The vocals once again are just the cherry on top, making this masterpiece even better.
I'm not going to pinpoint and review every single track on the OST. But, you might ask, who is the mastermind behind all of this? No other than Meguro Shoji, who has composed the soundtracks of every mainline Persona game (and for some spin-offs as well). The vocalist for all of the songs is Inazumi Lyn whose clear, but strong voice fits each of these tracks where vocals are present perfectly.
In my humble opinion, Meguro Shoji's masterpiece of a soundtrack showcases what happens when a genius understands the motifs, the themes and the emotions of the game and the story while composing songs for it. There's not a single track which feels out of place

So personally I think the track 'Mirror Match' is the very peak of Steven Universe music and for anyone unaware, it's the track that plays while the Crystal Gems are confronted by Lapis' Water Clones. However before I can get into why I think it's the perfect track I need to lay down some ground knowledge for anyone unaware of how the music in Steven Universe works. Specifically, Instrumentation and Musical Themes. That being the concept of linking certain musical ques, instruments or motifs to characters or moment to evoke a feeling within the viewer and this is used all over the place, think of Tarzan where whenever Jane and Tarzan have a moment, a light motief is played on the flute, or Pirates of the Caribbean where the main theme is played whenever something epic is going down. Steven Universe uses a similar technique but more akin to the Disney Classic Peter and the Wolf and there's an amazing video by Sideways that goes into a lot more depth about this concept if you are more interested in it. However for now all you need to know is that each character in Steven Universe has an instrument and musical genre linked to them that plays more often when they are the center focus of attention.
Anyways now that all of that is out of the way, lets begin.
The track begins with the introduction of the Water Clones, backed by a Synth Drumbeat, it's slow and heavy on bass. More importantly however is that the drumbeat dictates the Rhythm of the song. In other worlds. The water clones, at least for now, are in a dominant position over the gems.
As the gems then prepare for combat, Rose's violin is heard, something expected as the gems as a whole are remnants of what Rose left behind, they are her warriors an they fight the protect the earth in her name. A second violin joins in however, slightly lagging behind the first as the Clones begin to prepare as well. Shows off their nature as they are nothing more than the mirror images of the Crystal Gems. As both parties are ready the strings then harmonize. The original and mirror images are now in perfect sync and th

Still though, I'm trying to master for spotify (eventually I'll be on there) and my loudness sound like shit on soundcloud compared to the pros. I just did a remaster for soundcloud which, per my headphones, sounds ok, but its less than 1 LUF louder and I lost a lot of dynamic range. Is half a LUF that much? I'm going to check on the car speakers tomorrow.
Some questions.
Appreciate the help. This sub has been instrumental (pun, haha) in helping me get better. If I can get this sounding good on all platforms maybe I'll make a video showing how its done, hopefully with information shared with me in this thread.
Itβs my most listened to album this year and I just canβt get over how incredibly good it sounds, the riffs and melodies and the lyrics are just so good in my opinion.. thoughts anyone??
SOS! so Lush has been and remains to be one of my all time favorite albums for over a year now, and i reeeally donβt want to get burnt out on listening to it. iβve been replaying HEAVILY lately and i figure that i should probably find other tunes that have similar vibes, so it stays fresh. i think most of it is the aggressively catchy, jangly guitar driven sort of sound that this album has, Lush has such a specific vibe to it that i donβt really get from any other artists music but if you guys have any albums that you think have a similar musical energy to it, theyβd be greatly appreciated rn π
Just wanna preface this by saying, I'm not an sjw and this question is not being asked from an intentionally bias place or with the purpose of either supporting or attack sjw ethics.
This is going to be a long one boys, but I've got a lot to say here. I'll try to give section headings, and then tie it all together at the end. Feel free to skip around, please.
TL;DR***************************************************************************
I don't listen to very much top 40 music, but what spurred this post was that I was just browsing the current top hits on the billboard charts and while reading about Ariana Grande's 7 rings I came across this critique:
"The Atlantics editor Spencer Kornhaber criticized the song, writing "[the single] is raising hackles because it regresses to a more cartoonish, and imitative, use of black music than she's done before (not to mention the video's evocation of Japanese kawaii). She's wearing the culture as a costumeβor even as a jokeβnot unlike white frat guys putting on fake grills for a "ratchet" party."
So basically I'm just interested in everyone's opinion on that particular type of criticism of artists like Grande. She's not black, but she's a pop star, and has been a pop star for some time now, and hip hop is the overarching sonic aesthetic of popular music right now. So, with that being said, is she wrong to borrow from a genre that she's undoubtedly exposed constantly considering the industry she works in? It seems like a step backwards to draw this line based off of the amount of melanin that someone has. But, when you consider the extreme that some like Miley or Iggy take this sort of thing to, then you really start to kind of see where that side is coming from.

Anyhow, I really find this question as it relates to music extremely interesting.Β My personal opinion,Β in a general sense and there are exceptions to this for me, is that collaboration between cultures, and more explicitly races is a great thing for music and it wouldn't be the same without this constant push-pull, ebb and flow, sort of give and take of musical inspirations and ideas.

One thing I really want to flesh out is his fascination for Goblin Rock, which I see mentioned in some sourcebooks, but I haven't found a definition for. Is goblin rock even a genre, or is it just a catchall for all Orkish musics? Are there particular instruments instrumental (pun not intended) to this vein of music? What sets it apart from human musical subcultures?
Regardless if there is a canon response or not, I want to hear you guys' ideas.
I took some violin lessons as a child, and gave up during the war. When I came back, there was no time to get back into music because of career, kids, family and so on. A few years back, my wife bought me a mandolin for my birthday and a month of lessons at a local music store. I'm hooked! Playing the mandolin is pretty easy, even easier if you've learned how to play rudimentary violin, because the tuning and fingering is the same.
The mandolin is like a small guitar, but it's tuned in 5ths instead of 4ths as the guitar. The frets are closer together, and you can use all 4 fingers of your left hand in a row for scales, other than a 1,3,1,4 pattern like the guitar.
Because the mandolin is so similar to the violin, you can play any style of music from rock to blues to country to jazz to classical and everything in between.
The mandolin came to this country in 1890s from Italy. One of the earliest mandolin virtuoso's was a young man named Giuseppe Pettine. He came here with his family from Italy and settled in Rhode Island. He was instrumental (pun intended) in setting up one of the earliest mandolin orchestras in the US, which was the instigator for Gibson mandolins in many ways. Bill Monroe was one of the earliest mandolin heroes. He played a Gibson F5 mandolin.
AMA!
Any of you guys find that music is almost instrumental (pun intended hahaha) in recovery? Iβm a musician and music has always played a pretty big role in my life, but constantly being spun kinda takes away from my appreciation for it
Iβm on the excruciating day 3 of my recovery but I found some joy from these new beats headphones I bought on Black Friday. I always have some music in the background of whatever Iβm doingβbut realized I never really just sit down and listen to music anymore, so I decided to listen to some of my favorite new music
I literally cried at how beautiful it was. I havenβt felt such euphoria and motivation on an organic level in a long time. I always hear a lot of cheesy shit about it but I feel like the power of music can really be under appreciated. Anyone else feel this way?
Hi, I'm new, I'm getting back into playing for like the 20th time, most of previous times were laziness or distraction, as I'm not in any prestigious or otherwise orchestra. This time it was that I physically did not have a violin due to my first decent violin I've had since I was like 12 had a major bad sucky accident; yes I'm still mad, but now I have Frankie!
To be absolutely fair, I inherited two violins from a late grandfather that was musically brilliant but that was kind of a nasty person. He got me started on this path and I'll always be grateful to him for that. He also taught and repaired other people's violins so I had a little bit of an advantage as far as picking and choosing goes. I probably would never have been able to justify having Frankie otherwise. The other, well, it doesn't have a name yet. Needs a little work, too.
Franky is visually kind of ugly, but he's also strangely pretty. He sounds amazing. Even with my rustbucket hands and arms which for the time being need to dial back in to the muscle memory. My ears are fine, mostly. I named this violin Frankie because he's, well, a Francois Salzard. His varnish couldn't' be described as a "golden" brown, but there is some yellow in that brown he has, which is basically also why he's visually kinda ugly. I'm saying all of this in my head/thought process fondly though, because all that matters is that he sounds decent, and for that I absolutely have to say that he sounds fantastic. Like, really good. Even for sitting for probably a while.
While knocking the rust off my left hand in guitar position, or in normal playing position, I've done scales and I've done that one with the |:041243424342414:| exercise and I reached a point where I felt my left "assembly" of arm parts and hand parts like, shift into gear and I decided to double my speed, which went well. I still have something! I gotta rebuild the rest of it though.
The question I feel that's most important to ask right now with the isolation and everything, is, where can I find more exercises to get everything back to its original proficiency (and hopefully beyond)? I'm thinking stuff like weird scales, to weird fingering orders, to arpeggiations of great variety etc. I know I'm not going to be a first chair any time soon, and I don't even know if I want to join an orchestra when there have been people who have practiced every day since day one, and WANT it in a intense and focused way.
No, what I want to do, is finish a sem

Hello again everyone! Back again with number FIVE, of the 5th Subclass FanFiction release. For those new to the Series, this 5th Subclass Initiative, is a purely conceptual, mostly text based project where I write up Lore, Skill-sets and create a realistic presentation of "WHAT IF" your class got their 5th treatment. As you can see from the Image Gallery provided, this is a decently polished project meant to Emulate the likes of [DFO World Wiki], and the Official pages Neople creates when launching a NEW class.
For those returning, in my last post I mentioned I would be in the process of creating deeper commentary on the process of creating these, and to be on the look out for a Blog or other outlet. Instead, I am now simply offering Two Galleries: One with, and one without Commentary. I merely extended the images to allow for parallel commentary, giving more detailed explanations on the design of this content.
This release was a special edition, as it was with the help of new "team" member, who was Instrumental (pun intended) with the creation of this class, especially in the SKILLS department so special shout out to him or her, as it was needed if I was to attempt to create an OPTION, if not a Replacement, for SADER Support! ~Intrigued? ~ Check it out below!

She always relied on men, had no job, and when she broke up with her abusive boyfriend she became dΓ©pendant on her son( my ex). My ex would clean the house for her, pay the bills so they had a place to live, and gave up college so she could find a job for herself. He was so focused on his mom, while she did nothing for herself. He eventually wanted us to get married ( he was 18 I was 17) and I assume his mom proposed this. Because I do make more money than him. Anyways I freaked out and broke it off right then and there. I just feel bad for him. And itβs complicated. I still feel the βbad vibesβ? And it wasnβt even my situation.

Ok, I wanted to know peopleβs opinions. What do you think is Tylerβs best song lyrically? Now forget about lyrics and just his composition, whatβs another song you think had the best instrumentals? So two different songs: one you think he was lyrically strong in and one you really vibe to the sound of.
Pretty much the title. I have bad anxiety and dysthymia, and this amazing band and their songs have acted as an anchor for me to be able to feel as though my problems are being understood by other people. Their math rock songs are crazy and spastic and sounds like my anxiety just put into music. Their more indie, slower songs help my depression and remind me that everything is going to be okay. Listening to music is a type of therapy to me, and Foals (along with some other bands as well) have been instrumental (pun intended) in helping me cope.
So I would just like to say, if any of the members of Foals are reading this, thank you, you guys rock.
The song has a Van Halen sound, to me. I sort of thought it was possibly a David Lee Roth song, though I haven't been able to find it so far. One part, which I take to be chorus, sounds sorta like, "wheels of thunderrr, round and round, shake the room, round and round, it's never understood" and this, I believe, is a vocal harmony, followed by a part where he's singing quicker and faster, followed by a dipping sound on the guitar. It was on the same tape of my older brother that had "Tragedy of You," so it might be from 1991, but it has what I take to be a distinct 80's rock sound.
This one is a long shot, but it's a song that has really been haunting me for decades. Everthing else I've posted has been solved, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
