A list of puns related to "Grain Alcohol"
Originally from a state where Everclear is legal and used to use it to make tinctures. Cant find everclear, golden grain or moonshine anywhere - is there a law against it? If so, any recommendations for another food grade solvent for subzero ethanol extractions?
Some people out here claiming that grain alcohol is safer than Iso. I know that this wonβt be a very popular post but it needs to be said.
Nothing about grain alcohol is food grade. There are toxins in ethanol and theyβre just as bad as isopropyl.
In fact, when purged, grain alcohol is retained more than that of 99% iso. Reason being is that the purity of the solution is less than that of iso.
The amount of iso or of grain alcohol is so minuscule, I wouldnβt worry. There are more toxins within the food we eat. Way more than what you can find in a gram of RSO.
Stop with the βgrain alcohol is food grade so itβs safeβ bs. Isopropyl or grain alcohol, both are very safe considering the purge is done correctly. Rick simpsons very own friends who consumed naptha (ffs) are still alive and cancer free.
I've always been a whiskey guy but since last March (for some reason?!?!?! Lol) I've switched to grain alcohol and can't stop. I dont even want anything else anymore its just like "why is all this gross stuff in my ethanol". Its too easy, to bring one water bottle full on a trip and get secretly blasted all weekend. Its too cheap, far and away the cheapest dollar per ounce of ethanol at the whole liquor store. No added sugars or carbs, no rum or tequila poison hangovers, mixes with literally anything and I can make a drink as strong as I want. I cant recommend it enough and/or am warning you to stay far away from it.
My mate got me 20L of new make whisky (95% grain alcohol straight oot the spirit safe) from a local distillery. I've made a few infusions etc (Szechuan peppercorn particularly good, Scandi style aquavit with caraway and star anise a close second), anybody got any idea of some edible (rather than drinkable) ways to use it?
Hi there,
So I make my own extracts (no one here sells Ube extracts dammit) and own cannabis tinctures for thc cooking to help with severe chronic pain but I've hit a small barrier. Getting anything similar to everclear or a similar % is darn near impossible here.
Does anyone know where I ca purchase a similar strength product. Or I guess know a good moonshiner since LCBO has been no help!
Hi there I've just inoculated my very first grain bag and I accidentally sprayed rubbing alcohol on the filter of the bag, letting some of the alcohol into the grain and wetting the inside of the bag.
I still injected the spores of course, but will this stop my mycelium from colonising?
Hi all
I'm allergic to corn. I figure 120 can kill most(if not all) covid. I mainly want it for wiping produce and a added bonus for a stiff one ;)
So if any one knows of any 120 proof and stronger alcohol's that are not made with corn pleas let me know.
Hello Everyone! I wanted to share with all of you and hear your thought about all of these diets that are suggested. For more than a month My family and I decided to become Vegan and immediately we began to feel really good. However, I noticed that my flare ups were not going away (Now, I have frequent flare-ups almost every day but they are small they biggest I had has been the size of a small marble. ) This of course caused some frustration, so I have been avoiding as well gluten and grains. Guess what ? still flaring-up. Basically all I am eating are fruits and vegetables and legumes. I am going to try to cut legumes and see if there is any improvements. I also try to stay healthy. I don't smoke and I don't drink and I work out.
At this point I am coming to terms that this is a genetic condition ( specially because I have a cousin F19 that has it ) and that potentially it is not being caused by something I am eating. This is a condition I am going to have to for the rest of my life. My flare-ups do get worse when I feel anxious or even sad ( not because of HS but just in general ). If you feel like me that there is nothing you can do, don't give up, do the best to give your body what it needs to heal from every flare-up. I noticed that when I flare up for example my inflammation decreases the next day and they heal when I don't touch them!. And please stay away from what-ifs ( that's anxiety ) and it just gong to cause more flare-ups!

Looking for some grain alcohol for my gummy recipe, Iβm aware itβs not sold here but sometimes thereβs ways around it.
Or what does everyone else use to keep there gummies from sticking together when packaged?
I understand I might just need to get SDA40B. Does adding essential oils to grain alcohol with IPM make it "poison" thus forcing it to no longer be considered an alcoholic beverage? I am a bit confused here because federal law basically says undenatured alcohol for use in chemical products is fine. (Considering that you will be adding to it turning it into a fragrance instead of a beverage.)
Help. My head is spinning here.
Pretty much the title. Grain Alcohol usually has a higher alcohol proportion, so I can only assume it's a better solvent, therefore it would be better for maceration of fruits and herbs, as it would extract more flavors and aromatics more easily and quickly. Also, it would be easier to control the alcohol content in the final Liqueur.
So, is there any reason for using less-concentrated spirits for maceration and general liqueur-making? I've made mine with grain alcohol most of my life, but I'm trying to make some fancier ones for a Christmas gift so I'd like to know if I'm doing anything wrong. Sorry for the crappy english btw.
I want to make gummies and the recipe wants me to use 75 proof grain alcohol and recommends ever clear. Canβt get that over here and Iβve looked everywhere online and in supermarkets and cannot find anything like it, where can I get it
