So my gf and I have been together for a year and lately it's been falling apart (to summorise the earlier posts she has been throwing puns at me not giving a shit about my feelings and pretending to be depressed whenever I don't have 100% of my attention on her). I know I sound pathetic but I'm 17 (she's 2 years older) and none of my other relationships have been intimate and subconsciously I don't want to lose the feeling of being that close to somebody and I've been put up with her. However I'm starting to realize that I feel lonely and frankly the only reason I'm not breaking up with her is because I've grown used to her but I'm confident the only reason she's with me is because I work out a lot and I was the first to approach her when she joined the gym (she moved to my city from another place)

One of my favorite pieces of dialog in video game history comes from Baldur's Gate 1:

That massive string of enraged text doesn't come from one of the classic NPCs or Party Members... it comes from the Player Character.

And, if I'm not mistaken? BG3 is going to follow Larian's habit with DOS2 of avoiding actually writing dialog for the player character. Instead more general, loose sentences that don't so much say what your character is saying, but indicating their attitude, mood, intentions and the like.

Basically, longer versions of what you'd see in Mass Effect or Dragon Age 2/Inquisition when the dialog wheel came into play... but without the actual statement of what your character is saying.

I guess Larian feels like this enhances the Role Playing mood, since they're not defining what your characters says, you can make that up in your head... but it honestly feels too disconnected from the characters, and makes conversations less personal.

I was expecting Larian to use their turn-based style for BG3, as much as I wanted the RTwP style instead. But I was at least expecting a strong story with a good central character, not... well, even less of a character than Gordon Freeman at the center of it all...

Anyone know what process could have separated this stone into such clean layers? Found in a stream bed a stones throw (pun intended) from a larger brackish river connected to the Trondheim fjord in Norway. Found as if the rock had recently separated with the pieces directly on top of each other.

First problem like stated in the title, is just the sheer amount of politics. I come to Reddit to laugh and that sub to see relatable or "black" tweets. And frankly it's just political opinions and just because it's a black person saying it "well it fits the sub".

Second problem. I think comments are a huge part of my Reddit experience and I like to have conversations weather it's serious or just throwing puns around. But there is nothing cringier to me than going to the comments there. It's just a bunch of white people trying to "talk black" and for some reason it rubs me the wrong way.

Third. This might sound pretentious as fuck but HATE emojis. They make my fucking skin crawl. I don't know why I hate them so much but they are my pet peeves. I think my hatred from them spawned from cringe comment sections on Instagram. And frankly r/blackpeopletwitter share a lot of the cliche emoji comments that Instagram does. And they piss me off. I hate seeing "omg I'm dead 😭😭💀💀" or " dude💯💯 👌👌".

Pheromone Scents (these are the scents meant to give you that boost to tackle your day.)

Ambition (bright hyacinth and jasmine - purple iris - sparkling citrus - the power to get what you want)

This is bright – like an orange crayon. It’s so orange it makes me think of Tang, but citrus lovers would very much dig it. I don’t pick up on the jasmine or hyacinth so much, but there’s more to this than just orange. This feels nostalgic to me because it reminds me of those scratch and sniff stickers I got for doing a good job in elementary school. I might revisit this if I get another sample sometime. It’s a very fun scent. 6/10 Might revisit

Determination (luxurious oud - mysterious dark woods - sea salt air - drive and determination) (destashed before I wrote this review… regret, but I’ll give a short impression anyway.)

This is a broody one. Strong and dark and somber. It has a bit of bite, due to the salt and oud, but it’s nice. The dark woods are very present in this. If you were a very determined pirate ship, this would be your scent. 6/10 Might revisit.

Color-themed Scents

All Black (fresh black pepper - earthy oakmoss - bergamot rind - black spice)

Wow. This makes a statement. This is the Little Black Dress at an orchestra, with the sing of bergamot and the bite of pepper. On first application, I get the pepper, bergamot, then the duskiness of oakmoss. The oakmoss brings this down to earth, but it stays sharp, bold, and spicy all the way through. I don’t know what black spice is, but this isn’t your grandmother’s cooking spice. It’s almost masculine, and could definitely be unisex.

I LOVE how sharp this is. The lady in the little black dress has a very sharp knife, and good throw (pun intended). On the dry down this smooths out so nicely and becomes a little sweet, with that bergamot zing. Lovely. 7/10 Tempted to FS.

Gold (sparkling golden mandarin and warm tonka bean) – no longer in stock ☹

I don't think I have ever seen a game so poorly translated and overly localized to the point of being nausiatingly annoying. Blade and Soul has been so overly localized and poorly translated it reeks of poor quality and abuse of artistic liberty.

My first serious complaint about the game's translation comes from the story line.

My first play through of the story, I listened to every voice acted line, and watched every cinematic. If I noticed I accidentally skipped over a line in the chain, I'd exit the NPC and listen to it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.

And even after listening to the quests over and over again, accidental or intentional, I still ended up lost and confused as to what the game was trying to tell me as a story. By the time I got to Iksanun's plot lines I was so damn confused as to what was going on, I was ready for the story to be over so it'd just explain itself.

The only character that seemed to have the right set of audio and memorable lines and being able to be well enough translated for me was Surprisingly the fat jerkass Yonkai. Iksanun wasn't too bad, but he wasn't as re memorable until the end(no spoiler).

This is mostly related to being poorly translated and localized to the point where a lot of the points didnt make sense at the end.

My second serious complaint was the blatent and excessive over usage of puns, and pop culture references.

A few pop culture references as easter eggs are fine, and can be really fun and interesting to see. As well as inside jokes between the game and other games, and lores. That's fine.

I'm not against some pop culture references sneeking up and "ohey that's pretty funny" and puns aren't bad too, but when the game is throwing puns left and right, and then "ohey remember this pop culture thing?" It breaks the immersive quality and screams of excessively over doing the localization.

Westerners don't need to be spoonfed excessive amounts of their own culture to be connected to a game's world. Overdoing it straight up breaks that connection.

Where wolves of Lycandi(Werewolves of London), Blossom Bubbles and Buttercup(powerpuff girls names on male characters), Yo Gi bear. These are all clearly north american/Western inserts into the game. The over usage of puns is also excessive, and for things to be "punny" to a player they have to be specific to the language. Another indicator of non direct translation and over localizing content. So I have run into some muns that I am going to use on either the current B-Grade Sale, if I am too picky (or slow) I will use the money on Yoyoexpert. Currently, I have a nice selection in the B-grade sale so I don't need any help there, but currently I am deciding a secondary throw to choose for my cart on Yoyoexpert.

My Yoyoexpert cart currently contains-- Duncan Hornet (x2, still choosing the color) YoyoOfficer Blossom (pink/purple acid wash).

So this leaves me with about $60 to play with.

Originally I had a Silenus and either a Neo/First Base in there to have a nice plastic. But if I ditch the Silenus I could choose between things like the Sugar-glider, Shutter, Horizon, or anything else within that price range. I am curious if there are any recommendations that any of you would want to throw (Pun intended).

I am hoping to take this hobby a bit more seriously, especially since I figured out how to do some more advanced tricks like the Plastic Whip and some 2a loops. So what would any of you guys think I should go for.

Edit: For clarification, I have $60 spare to spend on another yoyo, my total budget is higher than that, but I have my heart set on a blossom. Also, thanks so much for all of your recommendations. It will be mice to keep more into the hobby as a whole, especially since I learned I really enjoy 2a and 5a.

Edit 2: Seems that the Duncan Hornets aren't as good as I thought they would be, since their price is in the same range as a Loop 720 (USA), So I will switch those out for initiators or 720's to be safe about learning 2a.

We could think of no better way than to hold a contest for all of you with five (5) copies of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition up for grabs (and maybe even some custom flair). Even better, there is not just one contest, but three contests! There's this boy that I've known for about three years now that goes to my youth group. We have recently become friends, and we even have each other's numbers. I've liked him for about almost a year now, but I'm too afraid to tell him how I feel.

But I can't get a clear answer from his signals if he likes me or is just being nice to me. It's like, I think that he might one day, and then the next I'm almost convinced he doesn't. Here are some examples of the things he does that confuses me.

• When he first got my number [by sending him a picture that he wanted as a background] we kind of had a spam war that lasted for about an hour.

• He doesn't come up and talk to me, really. If we are in a group and talking, then we will often to into a "pun war", but not much past that. Other than these group discussions, we don't talk at all, really.

• He's kind of mean, but in a teasing way. Like, if I didn't know his sarcasm like I do, I would be offended. But we don't exactly have real conversations. It's more like throwing puns or teasing insults back and forth and the occaisional question about his band.

• When we do talk on rare occaisions, I get a good, complete thought and not just something like "Cool", "Yeah" "Awesome", etc. This goes for texting too, but if we text I have to initiate it. [He's pretty shy anyway, but still...]

• I haven't caught him staring or anything, which is kind of discouraging, but normally when he catches me staring he pulls out his phone and messes with it.

• I have overheard a conversation by him and someone I didn't recognize right away about him telling someone who went to his church how he felt. It kind of narrowed things down, but that was a long time ago, and it might have changed since then.

• We both do track & field, and on one instance, I've seen his friends glancing my way while his back was turned to me while facing them. I thought it was weird. And later on, he was standing close to me and my best friend while watching one of the races go on, but nobody from his school was in that race. His friends were far away, and just as I mustered up the courage to go speak to him, he looked like he just sighed and left to go back to his friends. I regret not speaking to him.

I'm watching the shield vs. Arrows series now and holy shit DoA and MonteCristo are throwing puns all over the stream lol

Last week was my (17F) and my twin brother's birthday. Our family wanted to throw us a small party and we thought it'd be a great idea since we've hardly gotten to see anyone in our extended family for the last year. I was particularly excited because our aunt owns a bakery and makes the most delicious cakes and I wasn't able to get one last year.

The day of the party comes and my family members arrive. My aunt comes up to me and my brother with her daughter, Averi (9F), in tow. Both my aunt and Averi have a small box in their hands and Averi is absolutely beaming. My aunt says, "Here are your cakes! I hope you like them!" and Averi immediately chimes in "And I made yours OP!" When my brother opens his box there's the world's most beautiful white chocolate cake. Absolutely supreme work by my aunt, it's even got raspberry filling. My brother's favorite. I couldn't wait to see mine.

Needless to say when I opened my box I was quite disappointed. When Averi said that she made the cake she meant it. I don't think my aunt had any involvement with my cake at all and it showed. The cake was lopsided, the icing noticeably uneven, and looked like it was decorated by a blind and/or drunk monkey that had access to sprinkles. To be nice I took a bite. Lemon favor, which I detest. Even if it were a flavor that I liked it was dry and could barely qualify as edible. I set it aside, hugged and thanked my cousin for the cake, and continued with the party despite my disappointment.

After the party was over my aunt and mom were talking on the phone and my aunt asked to speak with me. She asked me what did I think about the cake and I was brutally honest. I told my aunt that I couldn't eat the cake and had to throw it out and that I wished she had made a cake for both my brother and I and just let Averi have her little side project. Unfortunately my aunt had put me on speakerphone so that my cousin could hear my answer and I gave the worst answer possible. Now Averi doesn't want to talk to me anymore and my aunt and mom are upset with me. My brother called me and ass and said I should have just said I liked the cake but how was I supposed to know my aunt would put me on speakerphone like that?

No, the pandemic is not over. No, your "freedom" or whatever the fuck isn't being attacked. It literally doesn't hurt you at all to wear one, and nobody cares if you don't like it. I (32f) was close to my sister (34f) most of my life. But our adult relationship has been tough. My sister has five kids with her husband. The youngest was born in February of last year. I have been trying to conceive with my husband for 8 years now. I knew I had fertility issues prior but it has been heartbreaking trying to have a baby and being unsuccessful. We have been open with our families about our struggles and most people are really kind and supportive but my sister has been... I don't know how to describe it. Ever since her first pregnancy she has told me about how she didn't want to be a mom, how she was considering abortion and every time I would support her. And then she would have her babies and she would admit regretting not aborting them. She would say her husband wanted the kids and she knew it would ruin their marriage so she had them and would fake it. She never stopped confiding in me. Even when I asked her to. I told her it was a hard topic for me to be involved in while I was struggling. She would act like I never said anything.

Then a few weeks ago my parents told me they had saved some money for my husband and I to help us have a baby. I thanked them, they said they hoped it could bring us the luck we needed. My sister was there and maybe she was jealous or something because she started joking that my husband and I just needed to have sex and how easy it is to have a baby and then she joked that I must not be a real woman if I can't get pregnant. My parents were furious and told her it was a nasty thing to say and well, they scolded her. But then she said I would be a shitty mom and that's why the universe wouldn't give me a baby and I might have lost it a bit and I told her well at least I wouldn't regret having my kids after they were born and wouldn't be thinking I should have had an abortion when they're already living, breathing babies. She was furious. My parents were shocked.

She called me an asshole and told me she confided in me in confidence and I feel guilty because she did, and because I was the only person who ever knew how she felt and I lashed out in the heat of anger.

We don’t have animal control here in Australia, so that option is off the list, however we have councils that we can report nuisances too so that will be my next step!

My hubby and I talked through this last night and he apologised for not sticking up for me and now thinks I was reasonable. There was a little miscommunication involved as he thought this was a one time occurrence and my first reaction was to go launching dog shit.

Guns also aren’t legal down under so threats involving that won’t be very believable. My twin boys though have a nerf gun and I have placed this aside on my counter- will be doggy bagging the shits in the meantime and shooting them across the fence with the toy gun until my hubby fixes up the fence with your tips.

When we first moved in, our neighbours introduced themselves over the fence and they were very friendly which was pleasing. It’s a comforting feeling that you know conflict won’t arise - or so I thought.

Now the issue is the neighbours have two jack Russell’s and I’m not sure if it is specifically the breed, but they love to dig. They have been burrowing the dirt that sits under the fence and regularly dig so far that they have made a tunnel from the neighbours house to mine.

I didn’t notice the holes at first as they are quite hard to see from the porch as our garden is quite big and they are located at the back. However I came home two days ago to see the dogs in my backyard and immediately knew something was up. They destroyed my expensive plants and shat all over my freshly mowed lawn.

I shooed the dogs back into the hole and filled them back up with dirt. No biggie I thought, I will just implement a patch of huge, heavy rocks across the base of the fence so they can’t dig anymore. I knocked on the neighbours door and informed them of the situation and asked respectfully if they could do the same so this issue wouldn’t happen again. They thanked me for not making a big deal out of it but not once did they offer anything for the damage done.
