A list of puns related to "People Against Gangsterism And Drugs"
Gun control has its roots in racism, many of the laws came from the south to prevent blacks from getting rights. In fact, Reagan only became pro gun control when the Black Panther's started taking up gun rights.
The poll tax and Voter ID laws are racist, and so are socioeconomic burdens on the right to bear arms like taxes, fees, and permits. It is way easier for an unemployed soccer mom to go to the police station midday to apply for a permit, than the mother working 3 jobs to make ends meet.
Laws like stop and frisk and AZ's stop and ID check are racist because its a police officer's subjective opinion which we have seen tend to be against minorities, especially in AZ. So may-issue permits, like in CA, MD, NJ, NY, CT, and MA are racist because the police can deny you a permit without reason. Why is more likely to get denied, the rich man with connections, or the poor man who actually faces getting killed on his street.
The No-Fly-List was seen as racist because there was no objective reason to be on it, no way to appeal, no due process etc. Yet when both sides spoke about using it on the right to bear arms, all of a sudden those racist rights violations were ok?
"Common Sense Gun Safety" or however they are branding themselves today is the new War on Drugs.
The other day I was on Instagram and watched the Instagram story of a guy with cystic fibrosis, a genetic and terminal lung condition that causes your lungs to slowly die as you age. This guy ran through some of his medication, starting off with an enzyme to help him digest and absorb food. people with cystic fibrosis need to consume about 5000 calories a day and this enzyme is crucial for maintaining weight.
It costs him $2000 a month.
That was the least expensive of all the things he displayed. The least shocking.
The final medication he talked about, he picked up and showed simple a box of pills, one that looks just like any 24 pack of ibuprofen. The medication helps with lung function and helps him get back some of the lung function hed lost and it's generally a step forward in fighting the disease.
For a years supply of that medication it costs $350,000
That is almost $1000 a day
It's disgusting
It's also really hypocritical, as the "pro-" drug type people act and sometimes claim their drug use is like a sacrament or ritual, then turn around and make fun of religious people for having their own sacraments.
You can read all about Mel Sembler and his criminal company here.
While Sembler has founded a company that has abused drug addicts, he is fighting against allowing patients with terminal cancer, HIV and PTSD from getting the MEDICINE they need and deserve.
The mods have allowed me to post donation links to the campaigns fighting FOR legal weed before, so I hope this is allowed as well.
1 million is a huge donation for a state wide campaign. We must fight back.
Medical marijuana BARELY LOST in 2014. We do not want a repeat of that.
You can donate to United for Care's Yes on 2 campaign HERE.
Also, FLORIDA RESIDENTS, a federal judge has EXTENDED FLORIDA'S VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE UNTIL THE 18TH
If you have not registered to vote yet, you can do so here.
EDIT: After a little more research, I have discovered that Mel Sembler's Wife Betty founded the Drug Free America Foundation and Mel has been quoted as having said βWeβre trying to save lives and peopleβs brains ... Itβs not a medicine.β
It's not fucking medicine? Why don't you tell that to the kids who don't have hundreds of seizures anymore thanks to CBD in marijuana, asshole. Source.
EDIT 2: Thanks to /u/uhbumchuck for making me aware that there is a documentary about the abuses at Straight Inc. You can watch the trailer here and you can read a message from the executive producer of the documentary here.
There is often an argument that people need jobs to get them motivated or force them to contribute to society in someway.
Do we have any evidence that people in a modern western country would not do this?
The only argument I can think of is that basic income is really basic and could only afford a person to have a very simple accomodation provisions etc.

> Sanders, seated across the table, a yellow legal pad at hand, responded with a question of his own, according to two people present: βArenβt most of the people who sell the drugs African American?β The candidate, whose aides froze in the moment, was quickly rebuffed: The answer, the activists told him, was no. Even confronted with figures and data to the contrary, Sanders appeared to have still struggled to grasp that he had made an error, the two people present said.
Man says he wants to smoke meth to boost his energy during the day and that he is doing it in part bc he's depressed, and instead of providing alternatives (oh, idk, a fucking protein shake, supplements, Clif bar, healthier diet, 5 hour energy....something; or psychotherapy for depression, maybe antidepressants?? something!) or telling him the precautions smoking meth requires you to take, the side effects, etc., the vast majority of people chose to help him instead.
Like nobody even TRIES to say "Hey, man, before you make such a serious decision, try X, Y, Z" and then if said person refuses the suggestions, then make sure they are being safe and not harming themselves.
Why does hardly anyone here think to do this?
So what now, we just letting our friends and family smoke crack? Your depressed and phyically fatigued mom comes home and says she needs to hit the pipe, and your dumb ass is going to help her do it?
I don't care what anyone says. "Oh, well this is r/drugs dude, people do that here". Nobody should care about that. You types of people are enabling bad decisions and potentially dangerous habits, and creating a potential pathway to serious addiction and long term health-related consequences.
You could be walking a father of three, or a teenager, or a mother with a newborn baby, or someone's only child, straight onto a terrible path. Consider that!
This is not the same as telling someone what prescription they should try or what strain they should smoke, or how much acid they should drop their first time. This is blatantly not giving a fuck about somebody's overall wellbeing. Some of the shit guys say on here is legitimately concerning.
And it really fucking bothers me that instead of providing advice on why you shouldn't: smoke crack, snort coke, do heroin... people would rather tell you: how you should do it, where you should do it, how much you need, etc.
Like on what planet is this acceptable? I saw another thread a few days ago where a guy was expressing concern over his MDMA addiction, and it was almost nothing but actual advice. People discussed the side effects and consequences (withdraw symptoms, effects on the brain/body and so forth) with him, provided prescription alternatives to help him move away from it, suggested supplements, etc.
But then just days later, after such a terrific thread is posted, we have a seperate group of guys telling someone who claims to want to start smoking meth (someone who admittingly is dealing with
... keep reading on reddit β‘And cannabis should be legal and encouraged for people to take, it's a miracle plant.
