I just watched the conjuring and almost died. I think it would be incredibly easy to make a simple SOP for ghost hunting. Here's what I have after 15 minutes, any other thoughts?
General principals
- Treat priests as spell casters and mediums/psychics/sensitive as healers in the party
- If there are common accidents that can injure people, assume they are more likely to occur
- Items that would require minimal kinetic power to be made dangerous are highly suspect (knives, pots of boiling water, roped/cord, firearms)
- Assume any type of injury where the bulk of the damage is provided by gravity or a natural force is a weapon of choice (tripping, strangling on cord, falling downstairs, hot liquid, matches, chemical contamination of food)
- When determining the radius of impact/control/danger, add 25% to your most liberal estimation of the entities range.
- Determine compulsions and M.O. for spirits
- Compulsions are exploitable and should be used as warning systems and ways to drain spirit resources (place religious items everywhere, change orientation of furniture back when moved, cause tantrums while in the safe room by playing triggering songs, ect…)
- M.O.’s should be de-teethed immediately upon identification by removal of vital components
- If the mother always kills the child then allow no mothers within radius of impact or allowed to access any items related to the entity. If hanging on a tress happens then remove all tree branches. Or the tree. If killings happen on a full moon then take all people offsite during full moon under strict supervision.
- Research team should never enter the site or directly interact with haunted material from the site. If possible research staff should be compartmentalized with some never seeing recordings or hearing recordings, or touching artifacts, to prevent memetic hazards and possessions
- Animals are high risk/high reward as they may be possessed or be used as indicators of interference
- At the first indicator of telekinesis:
- Immediately cleanse site of likely weapons of opportunity (kitchen knives, breakable dishes), cleaning items that are poisonous, cords, ropes, and firearms
- Store all reasonable mundane items at an offsite storage facility
- Provide disposable kitchenware
- Consider removing all doors from their hinges
- use proper team tactics when near potential falls, and doorways
- Create a safe room with no loose items that can be used to harm humans
8:05 a.m.
I clear my throat and grab the microphone.
“Good morning and welcome to Charlie’s, your local family department store. Today we have a sale on chopped liver. Go ask Gary over at the deli all about it.”
I look over in the direction of the deli to see Gary violently chopping up said liver. I don’t really know where he got it, though. He just told me to add it to the morning announcements.
“We’ve also updated our holiday section so all customers can find whatever they might want or need for Father’s Day. To all customers currently shopping with us...”
I glance over to the bench by the front door and see our only customer. If he can even still be considered a customer because he doesn’t look like he has much life left in him. Did he just pull the skin on his feet up like socks?
“...we’re sorry to inform you that our restrooms are currently out of order until further notice.”
That’s because when I came in this morning, both the men’s and the women’s restrooms were covered in blood. When I say covered, I mean floor to ceiling, drenched and dripping. It’s been happening for months now and we have no idea how. It always happens during the closing hours, the camera always glitches when it happens, and no one is brave enough to stay over night to figure out the source of it.
“Have a nice day, and thank you for shopping at Charlie’s Department Store.”
I finish the first announcement of the day, and let go of the microphone. As I do, I see Gabe speed walking into the front doors. He has a look of terror on his face and he’s breathing heavy.
“It must be out of its cage?” I ask him. He slams his messenger bag down and I can see rips and tears in it.
“Yeah, and apparently it only ever finds me tasty for some stupid reason,” he says, clearly frustrated that our unintentional pet wendigo is a picky eater.
“I’ll tell Gary to give it some other....less fortunate meat selections he might have. We need to get it back in its cage before we get a rush.”
Gabe’s face contorts into one of disgust at this comment, but I’m not sure if it’s at me discussing Gary’s mystery meat selection or at us getting busy. Or maybe it’s at the thought of the wendingo munching on his flesh, who knows? I tell Gabe to begin setting up his register space while I go over to talk to Gary.

I understand that there’s a lot of bigotry and intolerance of sex workers, especially amongst the cishet crowds, but with OnlyFans and other such sites, and the continuous cry of “sex work IS real work” it is becoming more normalized in society. I think we should help it become even more normalized.
It’s also apparently the craze for the most rando of couples to say they’re “Poly” with zero research into Poly lifestyles. They just pop onto dating sites and into lesbian spaces and act like they’re entitled to us. If not the unicorn hunting couples it’s a unicorn hunting bi curious woman with a husband that’s allowing her a “side chick.” The dishonesty from this crowd is only matched by the audacity.
That being said I’m super tempted to ask local sex workers for their calling cards or numbers/links, that is if these ladies wouldn’t mind: tending to a pillow princess, allow the male partner to watch, and/or participate in threesomes. Just so these couples and/or bi curious women can try out their fantasies with a professional and then decide if it’s something they actually do want to pursue without objectifying and hurting every day lesbians and bisexual/pansexuals just trying to live their lives.
I know I’m not the only Lesbian freakin tired of being objectified and treated like an item at the Lesbian Store. Hell, I’m in my 40’s and it’s exhausting — I can’t even imagine what it’s like for you ladies in your 20’s and 30’s. Or maybe it’s only so rampant for me because I am a GenXBian and I’m dealing with the midlife crisis set? Nope, take that back, a Lesbian I am discussing this topic with in another thread just mentioned she has been offered money to fly to another state and have sex with a woman in front of her boyfriend “as a treat” — and she got this message right here at Reddit — after she posted a selfie in a lesbian sub.
I don’t know, it seems being able to hand out a number and explain that we’re not here to fulfill rando strangers’ fantasies — and there’s literally professionals who can and will do probably anything they like for a price —just seems like a good way to handle it. For the local people that approach me IRL (and right in front of my partner) that’ll work. For the online presumptions/requests, I think I’m just going to state “I’m not a professional sex worker and it sounds like that’s what you need to make this fantasy of yours come true. Please look into local sex workers.”

About a week ago me Billy and a new comer coby where called in to a bigfoot sighting red wood park British Columbia Canada where several people have said that have encountered bigfoot that had attacked some hikers and left them in critical condition but it was written off is a bear attack
So my group was task to hunt this bigfoot At about mid-afternoon Coby Billy and I headed to the location given to Billy it was about a hours hike from the parks entrance
So I grabbed my M16 with copper hallow pont rounds and saw-off double barrel shotgun with copper slugs and coby grabbed his m4a1 assault rifle copper fmj and m1911 copper fmj rounds
And Billy grabbed he's pump action shotgun copper slugs and Smith and Weston single action army silver fmj
At 1:00 we arrived at the location given about 200 meters away there was a small empty cave aside the bones of Different animals Billy grabbed a bare trap from his bag and set it and hid it with Fallin leaves
We waited until 6:55 when a large shadow coming from the left of the cave it stood on two lags and was about 8.5 ft but Coby fired 4 shot at the bigfoot hit it once in the arm It looked at Coby a roar of rage and charged him
The bigfoot slammed Coby into a tree knocking him out instantly then Billy shot at the bigfoot with his shotgun hitting the bigfoot six times each time the best roared But Billy got tossed like a RagDoll losing his shotgun
Billy got up and ran to cover as the bigfoot Throw a bolder at him that's when I shot the bigfoot in the back with my M16 hitting it several times knocking it to the ground Billy got up and pulled out his s&w single action army and shot the bigfoot dead But it wasn't the only bigfoot two more emerged from the wood
Both bigger the the dead one About 12 ft in height and one had thrown a small redwood tree at me I barely dodge the tree Billy grabbed the the unconscious Coby and we ran back to the truck to get the 50 cal machine gun that is mounted to the back of the truck
But not much ammo as Billy and I ran with Coby still unconscious body to the truck the two big foot gave Chace we had barely made it
Back to the truck when a huge bolder came flying at us hitting a nearby tree Billy place Coby in the passenger seat and got in the drivers seat when I I'm loudind the machine gun
