A list of puns related to "The Oregonian"
The Gov committed to remove most of our current protections if we got to 70% of Oregonians atleast partially vaccinated. The Oregonian tracks when we'll hit that, its now projected for June 28th.
Its moving out. It was originally projected for June 24, because vaccinations are slowing down.
On the day she removes those provisions, while many may continue to mask, the reality is that those who were always opposed to both masking and vaccinations will now be indistinguishable from everyone else. That's a gigantic risk to you if you're unvaccinated, and there are all kinds of reasons people still haven't gotten their vaccine. Scheduling, a lack of urgency, transportation, fear of side effects, needles, anxiety of doctors or the medical establishment, fear of police presence, fear of gov't reporting, etc.
Now is a really good time to get vaccinated so you are atleast partially protected when we reopen. You deserve the ability to be vaccinated and there are people who will help you solve any problem or roadblock you have to getting it done. We will drive you. we will find the vaccine you want. We will go with you and advocate for you and hold your hand if you need it, we will make sure that whatever conditions YOU need to feel safe are met. If you faint after needles, we'll make sure you have a bed. If you need distraction, we've come up with some pretty decent distractions while waiting. Point is, please, please consider talking about the concerns you have (send me a chat or message) and lets see if you can get comfortable enough to make a decision about getting vaccinated.
If you know people who are not vaccinated yet, now is the time to really face your fears over getting up in someone else's business and ask them if they'd like help and then help them in the way they ask for.
Worth noting: Only 52% of Multnomah County is COMPLETELY vaccinated (or as I like to call it, vaccinated!). Partial vaccinations help, but that means we will reopen with only half our pop vaccinated, at a time with new variants like Delta that are troubling. Just because you have avoided COVID until now is no guarantee you will continue to do so. With everyone unmasked, its going to be dangerous out there. Even the vaccinated can have breakthrough cases that don't threaten them, but can absolute
... keep reading on reddit β‘It's hard for me to justify paying $10/month to read their articles, and I'm too lazy to look up how to get around the paywall each time. How many of you ACTUALLY subscribed? Or are you all just doing that weird thing where you bypass the paywall with several steps each time you want to read something?
βReligious institutions will be asked to set an indoor capacity of 25% or 100 people, whichever is smaller, although those restrictions are not mandatory.β
How are bars and restaurant a problem but 100 people singing in a room together ok? This has to be a huge cause if not the biggest of how spread of the virus is happening. The religious institution caps arenβt even Mandatory!!! Thatβs insane.
Hiiii! I am a reporter for The Oregonian and I need more questions for my advice column, Why Tho? Mostly my column deals with relationships of all kinds -- family, friends, romantic, in-laws, etc. Here's my latest. Yes, it is behind the paywall but you can get it for free as a newsletter (sign up for Advice for Life). You can ask me anything! And it is your one chance to be anonymous in The Oregonian! Seriously, I need more questions and the juicier the better. My email address is lacker@oregonian.com.
I'm heading to the west coast this summer & am planning a solo drive from Seattle to SF. I've heard great things about the Pacific Coast Hwy but also about Crater Lake. I only have 3 days, so I need to choose between the two.
Which would you suggest?
Thanks in advance!
