A list of puns related to "The Faceless"
Humans are unassuming creatures. They can be found anywhere their biology lets them and some places where it honestly doesn't. A dime a dozen from seedy orbital bars to sparkling luxury spires. They're generally seen as good natured and mostly agreeable; most species who have met them can generally listed at least one Human they're on good terms with. They aren't like the insular Muramakoa or the reclusive Jarganti, they're just another member of the mass of sentient life that makes up the galaxy.
And all of that is what makes some of the best damn spies in the galaxy.
To the uninitiated, an ideal spy might be someone who hides in the shadows, is silent and elusive whose wardrobe consists entirely of hooded cloaks and black bodysuits and who can never stay in the light less they be dragged out of the darkness they make their home. Such people need to get outside more.
True that espionage has always had an element of stalking targets from some distant shadow, but information comes in more than one form. A Human in a business suit or behind a computer can get just as much intelligence as some shady figure hiding behind a corner. And since Humans are found just about everywhere, everyone expects them. Seeing a shadowy Jarganti is a rare occurrence, something your mind will automatically pick out of a crowd. A Human though? One in a million on most worlds, just another face in an unrecognizable blob of people. You probably wouldn't think twice looking at one and they can be found at every level of society from underworld dealers to urban office workers to the social elites in their silver towers.
One look at their history shows an extensive legacy of well established agencies: the CIA, the KGB and MI6. Observers noted how before they discovered FTL, Humans already had comparable espionage and surveillance systems to other species. On more than one occasion, they even managed to intercept what was once though to have been the Galactic Council's Intelligence Chamber untraceable communications and exploration scouts. When they breached the light speed barrier, Humans soon began to demonstrate their mastery of espionage and spying, an art they had honed on themselves for centuries, in their own "special" way.
When the aggressive and militant Grand Speaker of the Qranak Collective openly questioned the sovereignty of several important Human colonies, believing the Qranak had a claim to the planets, evidence of a secret affair suddenly came to light. Risque co

I would recommend it to everyone in this quiet desert town.
Many of you may not know this, but BF2042 is ditching classes in favor of operators, with personalities, backstories, and personal gadgets/abilities.
Who asked for this? Basically it's really immersion breaking when you see 20 of the same guy running around an active warzone no matter the setting. On top of that we get little special abilities that, NO ONE asked for with the fact they're letting classes use any guns they want. So naturally the game is gonna be a bigger sweatfest than BF4 lockers was. You mean to tell me some asshat can have a sniper and a grenade launcher in the same loadout while also being a medic and reviving people?
All DICE has to do was copy and paste BF4 in a new engine, add new maps and guns, rebalance guns that were OP, and boom BF6 would have been perfect.
But instead we got BO4, but bigger maps. I think we should let DICE know we want regular soldiers who aren't super special so they can't sell more micro-transactions and bring back the traditional class system.
I have three on my profile and my Instagram is attached AND I also asked you first.
I donβt get it, does every engine haft too have a grey, yellow or imbedded face now? Iβm not mad about it, Iβm just confused
I suspect that the Faceless Men do not possess "true face-changing", but are limited to the use of glamors. I'm sure that I'm not the first to come to this conclusion so hit me up with links if you have any.
I haven't done a re-read since I came to this conclusion and I fished up the quotes from a Search of Ice and Fire so I might be missing important context.
Syrio tells Arya how he became first sword by being able to see through a glamor.
>He told me that one of his captains had brought the beast to him, from an island beyond the sunrise. 'Have you ever seen her like?' he asked of me.
>
>"And to him I said, 'Each night in the alleys of Braavos I see a thousand like him,' and the Sealord laughed, and that day I was named the first sword."
The Sealord wanted a body guard who can see through glamors. It would makes sense if the purpose of this is to protect him from Faceless Men.
When Jaqen changes his face in front of Arya it appears to be a glamor and not a physical transformation.
>Jaqen passed a hand down his face from forehead to chin, and where it went he changed. His cheeks grew fuller, his eyes closer; his nose hooked, a scar appeared on his right cheek where no scar had been before. And when he shook his head, his long straight hair, half red and half white, dissolved away to reveal a cap of tight black curls.
It would seem that the kindly man later confirms that it was indeed a glamor.
>"That's not how I meant. Jaqen used magic."
>
>"All sorcery comes at a cost, child. Years of prayer and sacrifice and study are required to work a proper glamor."
When Arya first meets the kindly man, he too is using a glamor.
>The priest lowered his cowl. Beneath he had no face; only a yellowed skull with a few scraps of skin still clinging to the cheeks, and a white worm wriggling from one empty eye socket. "Kiss me, child," he croaked, in a voice as dry and husky as a death rattle.
>
>Does he think to scare me? Arya kissed him where his nose should be and plucked the grave worm from his eye to eat it, but it melted like a shadow in her hand.
>
>The yellow skull was melting too, and the kindliest old man that she had ever seen was smiling down at her
Then we have the kindly man's claim that what they do goes deeper than glamors.
>"Mummers change their faces with artifice," the kindly man was saying, "and sorcerers use glamors, weaving light and shadow and desire to make illusions that trick the ey

So I know most people are under the impression that the FM are working towards bringing down Danyβs three dragons, right? Which would be why theyβre in Oldtown looking for dragon lore. Is this really the case though?
We know that it is basically stated that they brought down Valyria to end the suffering of the slaves, from which their guild arose.
Hereβs what I donβt get though, and I was hoping that, as usual, you more well-versed folks can help a girl out:
a) If the FM brought down Valyria specifically to destroy dragon power as a tool of dominion and enslavement, why would they allow the Targs to carry on chilling on Dragonstone with their eggs and dragons? Itβs heavily implied that the other dragon lords who werenβt in Valyria at the time of the Doom came down one way or the other, and to me some of it seems an awful like the FM tying up the loose ends. So why would they allow the Targs to endure, with arguably even more power than before since from the Doom on they were the only dragon riders left? Why not just finish up the job?
b) If their goal / philosophy is to βendβ slavery, why do they steer clear of Slavers bay? They might not have dragons but the slave masters of that area are just as bad.
c) The FM are said to have formed after their founder brought the first gift to a slave in Valyria who was begging for death. Maybe Iβm a bit thick on the head here, but wouldnβt a slave just be able to commit suicide? Youβd think that while working the mines of the Fourteen Flames there would be no shortage of opportunities for one to end one ownβs life without needing this mercy from someone else. Are we walking about something else here? Were the Valyrians enslaving fire wights or something, re-animating dead slaves, which is why it was required a more βspecialβ type of death?
d) If the FM are really working against Dany because they are concerned about what her dragons might unleash upon the world - two things: she is clearly anti slavery, what gives? Do they just not trust her to remain using her babies for their shared cause? And why wouldnβt they have killed those dragons while they were hatchlings and more vulnerable? Surely they would have been able to infiltrate Qarth, for example?
e) And shouldnβt they have that juicy dragon lore already, if they brought down Valyria? Why does it seem like theyβre starting from scratch?
Iβve heard the Aenar paid the FM to bring down Valyria theory, and while it answers some of these que
