Today my culture of religion and knowledge of ethics teacher claimed that Jews see themselves as superior race smthng, then i argued back cuz most of the Jewish peoples were secular and sane as far as i know. However teacher insisted in her argument so i decided to correct myself by asking the question to this subreddit.

I started off by mentioning the fact that many Venezuelans have returned to the gold standard to pay for goods and services. My sibling said that's regressive and that she doesn't want to be panning for gold/silver nor pay people to do so. She consistently repeated her counter-points (from the summary below) even after I gave her examples of currency debasement and loss of purchasing power due to inflation/overprinting. Examples being the Roman Empire, Spanish Empire, Weimar Republic, and Venezuela.

To summarize my sibling's argument/counterpoints:
-PMs as money & backing a currency is regressive. -Without the ability to print, the GDP/economy wouldn't grow. -Even though gold & silver are PMs, they have "no real value" and aren't extremely liquid. -What happens when the Earth runs out of gold and silver
