A list of puns related to "Generalship"
Im pretty sure we will get a full showing of shins talent as an instinct type general. pretty sure the GHU is not yet wiped out. at the most optimistic view, i feel they 've got 1.5-3k left except some to most of them are wounded. still 18k army is more than enough to turn the table for the left flank provided that the max enemy there is around 50k. i think shin will take control of the whole left army and it would be ten being the defense of the HSU+GHU while using the archer bro unit as trump card, the kyoukai unit being the annoying mosquito in the battle( like the move that mouten and ouhon did during the coalition arc) and shin being the instinct will be the offense with the occasional communication and ordering between the 3 heads of the HSU( shin ten and kyoukai). please do remember that if shin actually grew as a general during the lull and defensive years on gyou before the current arc, even if he is given only 2-3k as a personal unit, he can really wreck havoc to the enemy like what duke hyou din in the coalition arc against keisha army u know when he led 3k to kill 10k in one day. While shin might not actually do kill10k with a small army in a day, im pretty sure that he can wreck the left flank, kill the enemy general and if kou chou is heading rightwards in pursuit of kanki who was moving to the right army. pretty sure after killing the left flank shin will bite the rear of the pursuing center army making it a pincer attack between kanki and teh baldtribe and shin. i think at this point, Shin is about 20-40%% percent as an instinctual general as duke hyou and about 40-60% of the martial strength of ouki. so him doing this is plausible
It's well known that when he took over the Army of the Potomac, Grant wanted to impress on his subordinates that they should be less concerned with what Bobby Lee was going to do to them than with what they were going to do to him. It's also well known that he showed respect toward Lee's person at Appomattox.
But did he ever publicly or privately assess Lee's skill as a soldier? What did he think of it?

In 1957-10, J. F. C. Fuller in the preface of The Generalship of Alexander the Great wrote:
"I believe that if books on somewhat similar lines were written on half a dozen or more of the leading generals in history, and the whole then condensed into a single volume, an invaluable manual on generalship could be produced. It is perplexing that this has not been done long ago, if only because as far back as the opening of the last century, Napoleon bade all soldiers who aspired to become successful generals to read and re-read, and model themselves on the eighty-three campaigns of Alexander, Hannibal, Caesar, Gustavus Adolphus, Tureene, Eugene, and Frederick. This, he said, 'is the only way to become a great captain and fathom the secrets of the art'. ... had stateman and generals-in-chief been acquainted with the history of Greece in the fourth century B.C., they might have avoided many of the colossal blunders perpetrated by them in the Second World War."
Which 83 campaigns were these, what books were being recommended by Napoleon (which covered these campaigns?), and have books on similar lines since been written in the following 50 years?

So it just occurred to me that in between Order 66 going out and Anakin hitting the Separatist leadership on Mustafar, the battles that the Jedi and the Clones had been participating in didn't just stop. The clones would have had to continue with whatever they'd been doing, but without the advantage of the superpowered monks who likely factored into their plans of attack/would have been calling the shots in the field.
It seems to me that this would be a clusterfuck, because on top of not having the Jedi to lean on as a force multiplier, you've also got the fact that Morale has to be in the toilet. You've got the clones who actually participated in the purge directly under the control of the microchips, who are probably at least a little confused as to what just happened. You've also got countless clones who wouldn't have been involved at all- the jedi-to-clone ratio is huge- and all they know is that the their generals are dead to a man, or turned traitor, or something? Hello? What's going on? Anybody? And this is without factoring in the fact that a lot of the clone leadership also likely got wiped- we see Yoda take out Gree, and it stands to reason that a lot of the time, the closest clones to the jedi would have been the highest ranking and/or the only other people who knew the battle plans in full.
So what happened? The battles all were obviously moot, but Did Anakin get to Mustafar fast enough to prevent massive casualties? Did entire battalions get wiped out because they turned on their leadership during active firefights? Or were the Jedi actually mostly incidental to the overall flow of the battle, and the clones were able to pull through fine without them? Thoughts?
