Has the Mouse said anything about that show? I'd reckon it's a bigger rights nightmare than the OG Muppet Show, but as far as I know it's never been available beyond reruns on ABC family
I've been watching a handful of episode of Muppets Tonight, the short-lived follow up to the Muppet Show. And I have to say, it's easily a 9/10 for me and that it deserves to be on Disney Plus alongside the Muppet Show.
I have seen the show get a bit of flack for not featuring the classic Muppet characters like Fozzie and Rowlf the Dog as much, but I actually give mad respect to the creators for making the show focus on new characters; was no doubt a big risk to take. I actually like Clifford as a host, and this show also brought us the legendary Pepe the King Prawn.
I'm honestly surprised this show ended as fast as it did, as I think it's as good as the Muppet Show in terms of comedy and production values.
And as a Gen Z'er, I am more familiar with the guests they had on the show and the parodies they did. Hey, I wasn't alive in the 1970's, so I can't appreciate every episode of the Muppet Show as much.

With the backstage segments, and things like that, this Elmo talk show is giving me some strong Muppet vibes. Why isn't Disney doing something like this with the Muppets? (I know technically the Sesame Street characters are muppets but they aren't part of the Muppets) I love this talk show format for Elmo. It's funny. It's family friendly. It's breathing some new life into these characters who I remember from childhood. What does everyone else think?
