Hear me out. First things first, I love Schindler's List. Own the Keneally book, audiobook, VHS, 3 copies on DVD, and 2 on Blu-Ray. What would make me say such near heresy then? It stems from discussion I had with someone about how Muppets Christmas Carol is best Christmas movie because takes a classic story and add Muppets. Then the idea popped in my head of could you make any movie better with Muppets. So I arrived at Muppets Schindler's List. Read my casting choices and then we shall fight to the pain.

I am not ashamed to say it, but I LOVE this movie! My kids are almost 30 yo now and I still get a smile on my face whenever I watch this movie.
The actors are all well known for their time, the script has humor for kids and adults, and the music is a blast! If you haven't seen it, please do yourself a favor and spend an evening with it. If you have young kids it is even better because you can all enjoy it for different reasons.
EDIT: I'm a Dad.... EDIT: Wow! Gold??? Never had that before! I KNEW the Muppets were golden!

This will be my last post on here until I feel aggrieved again. So probably not my last post on here.
Saturday, 15th June 2019. The morning after my reddevils ban. I haven't slept a wink. I'm still FURIOUS. I can't believe the way they treated me, the way they tried to HUMILIATE me. Every time I close my eyes all I see is semi-colons. I need closure, but they don't respect me. They never even tried to respect DB.
After 7 hours and 27 minutes of deliberation, of wondering why I cared so much about what that serial liar Spoofex thought of me, I realised the true cause of the issue. It's not that Spoofex and the other ITKs think they're above DB Cooper. It's the fact that the users - often dubbed "muppets" - have allowed them to think this, have helped promote this environment. But there is nothing DB can do about it. My reputation is gone now, they'd never believe my word over their fabled ITKs. Or would they?
This, ladies, gentlemen, and my best friend /u/wonderfuladventure, is why I stand before you today. See, I figured the best way to get back at them for having the audacity to humiliate me, the coolest fucking guy on Reddit, was to humiliate them. I will try to segment this a bit but I'm still shaking with both anger and joy, a classic cocktail of DB Cooper's emotions.
###Part 1: The Plan
Spoofex and his disciples were the target. After some careful analysis I realised that people who believe Spoofex are gimps. After some in-depth market research on gimps, I found out that they also tend to believe this new account, "Muppetiers". An account set up for ITKs to anonymously send in information, for it to go through a verification process and then if deemed acceptable posted to reddevils. DB knew that this verification process would not be rigid. They're Redditors, fine-tuned to automatically react positively to any post above 3 paragraphs, and with an ego the size of Luke Shaw's massive fucking gut, I knew littering in compliments should get me over the line. The steps:
- Contact the muppetiers account. Don't be a slag and expose everything you've got in the first exchange, act cautious. Make them think you've got something worth protecting.
- Send them a whole lot of fluff with a bunch of random details thrown in that hav
Hey All! Just wanted to see where everyone sees the franchise going forward? Been a lifelong Muppet/Jim Henson fan all my life but am a bit worried.
Almost a decade after r/Muppets sub, it sadly feels like Muppets is as niche and forgotten by Disney as ever. We had the surprise hit "The Muppets" under Disney in 2011 and the really good but less remembered 2014 "Muppets Most Wanted". We've had the Lipton Tea Sipping Kermit Tea meme and Constantine Kermit meme on social media, but nothing came of that.
A few months ago, Disney finally launched "PLUS", and while we finally got a home digital release of the amazing short lived 2015 ABC Muppets Office show, we didn't get much else Muppet wise on Disney +. No 80s Muppet Babies, none of the Sony Columbia Muppets movies or specials, and not even the DISNEY owned Muppets Tonight, Muppet Family Christmas, Muppets at Walt Disney Special or Jim Henson Hour 1989 series. And the Disney Jim Henson Muppet "Bear in the Big Blue House" might as well not even exist.
However...we have Muppets NOW! supposedly debuting in a few months. Muppet Babies is back with an upcoming 3rd season(tho again, Disney cant clear the rights for the 80s cartoon?) We are getting a Sesame Street theatrical film in 2022, the first since Jim Henson's Sony Elmo In Grouchland in 1999 and 1986 Follow That Bird. And Jim Henson's Dark Crystal prequel series has gotten a lot of good reviews/merch/love. We also have a Sesame Street 50th anniversary recently and documentary film based on Sesame Gang, as well as a new Fraggle Rock legacy making of book coming out. We also had a re-release on dvd/debut on Blu Ray of all the seasons of Fraggle Rock and even the short lived 1988 cartoon on blu ray.
But 65 years after the Muppets debuted, things feel as obscure and bleak as ever for the MUPPETS franchise proper. Whens the last time you even saw Muppet merchandise in stores? Countless Minions/Paw Patrol/Fortnite/etc. stuff everywhere tho. I read they even closed down Muppetvision 3d at Disneyworld and Disneyland. The Muppets and everything in the general Jim Henson world has been the most poorly handled and bungled in the modern era.
Went shopping today and only saw two people with masks, one pushing the other in a wheelchair so maybe there was something else going on there. If people thought masks were so important that they just had to have them, why the heck aren't they wearing them?
Just curious, I’ve been surfing BR Instagram for decent football post, and boy this guy is just purely a cule. I hate it when a journalist or what the heck his job at BR is. This guy just look down on Real Madrid whenever he has a chance. Could you guys let me know how much you guys hate him?
So, like many of us here, I saw the movie in my childhood--probably as it was airing on TV around the holidays. I LOVED it, but when I grew up it never made its way into our DVD collection and fell by the wayside.
I'm old now, and have 2 kids who are finally old enough to appreciate these kinds of things. We put it on last night and I was blown away by its charm and sincerity that did not diminish through my cynical old age.
What was most remarkable to me was just how well the film has held up over 27 years. Like, I wouldn't know if it had been made in 1990 or in 2004 (except the age of Michael Caine! haha). The costumes didn't look dated--so many period dramas have artifacts of the eras in which they are made--the songs and scoring are just as moving, fun, beautiful, and delightful and don't hint at any 'topical' or pop culture elements that many such movies incorporate. It's basically timeless and I was so impressed.
Also can we honestly talk about the music? I straight up cried like 3 times. The scoring is also gorgeous, dramatic, and really pretty.
And can we talk about how they use the source material? Like GUSH.
I am so pleased that they relied on practical effects and "camera trickery" (any term for this?) rather than VFX because it is the final touch in making this movie so timeless and hold up just as well today as it did nearly 30 years ago.
Michael Caine is such a gem and the way they played this story is straight magic. A live actor playing Scrooge dead-straight, juxtaposed with the absurdity and absolute earnestness and sincerity of the muppets just creates a really fun dynamic that engages children in the source material without dumbing it down or dishonoring it. It's done with such heart and love for Dicken's story and that really struck me.
Finally, as an adult I was impressed with their timing and editing--they allow the spookier, heavier scenes enough room to breathe, but intercut with some levity with good judgment and good timing. It's never over-the-top, it's still funny to me as an adult, and it is sensitive to the rhythm of the story and the psyche of young children. Watching it through my childrens' eyes, I just really appreciated the care they gave both to the story and to the young audiences they knew would be watching. It can be heavy and spooky and scary, but without going over-the-top and overwhelming the young ones.

But you know what makes it not fun? When one ITK/someone who's interested in ITKs starts taking swipes at another.
It's not fun, nor smart, nor helpful to anyone. In fact, it's the complete opposite of fun as you're spoiling it. Continuously doing so starts to amount to you bullying another member of this subreddit. And that will lead you down the path toward removed comments and a potentially a ban.
It's definitely not fun. Not for you, not for me, not for any of the mod team.

We do NOT want to see division within our community about "look at the nerds in the nerd thread" or "look at the idiots in the dummy thread".
