A list of puns related to "Futurity"
Now I know this season has had a tougher start than any other season and the subreddit is at war with Bungie, but what are some Pros that you like so far about the season, and what do you hope comes next or think will happen?
Yang Ocelot: The creepy old guy with girly nails on his right arm and who keeps calling Ruby "SISTER!!!!!!!!!"
So Iβve been trying to wrap my head around what possible use these 150~ unique objects with no current use could have, and I think with the advent of tier 9βs βstrange alien techβ I may have a possible idea into the future (pun intended but weβll get to that) use for sommersloops and Mercer spheres.
We have all kinds of factory tools to heighten our efficiency, faster belts, better vehicles, larger more complicated devices, and tier 9+ is supposed to give us some form of portal/transport technology for resources from what Iβve gathered. Thinking in the same technology level context, with only a handful of times it could be used if it requires these rare collected resources...
I believe we will be given (researched technically but yβknow) time travel technology. Realistically, weβre boosting our factories to be faster and faster, full efficiency, but the only thing better than waiting less time for a bunch of materials to craft is to fast forward time itself and just HAVE the resources instantly.
Now I have a few reasons for thinking this beyond just strange alien tech and late-game tiers, but theyβre not all fully logical thoughts:
Iβm curious to know what the community thinks, do you guys think theyβll have a similar or different use? Will each be used for a different tech/tier/recipe? Perhaps they will just create SUPER slugs?
Whatever the case, Iβm excited for

It's a fair question, but I view this as a habit everyone adopted when Cartoon Network was still really really bad at making Steven Universe available digitally in a timely manner. No one ever thought or cared to check anywhere but illegitimate sources, because the show was basically impossible to watch unless you pirated it or watched it on cable. It was rough.
But this time, only a day later, all 4 of the new episodes are already available on iTunes!
https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/steven-universe-future/id1486116710
As far as I'm aware, this is unprecedented in the history of Steven Universe. CN basically never made the show available digitally so soon after airing, let alone in less than a day, so I'm very happy they decided to be reasonable this time around. Finally!
The season pass is only $20. With that, you support the show, you get all current episodes, and any episodes released in the Future (pun absolutely intended). If this batch is anything to go by, it looks like episodes will be generally available on iTunes within 12-18 hours after airing. I usually don't have time to watch the show absolutely immediately anyway, so I'm willing to bet the wait time won't be too bad for most people.
The cool thing about iTunes is that you can download episodes and watch them offline, meaning you get a much higher visual quality than you'd get if you purchased it from a streaming platform, since streaming platforms tend to over-compress their streams to save bandwidth. The picture quality on streaming platform suffers as a result. You might not even notice it, but I certainly do.
I cannot stress this enough, the show looks incredible on iTunes. Highly recommended.
Being able to download the episodes is great too, because you can easily download them and watch them from anything capable of playing Apple-DRM content, including iPhones, all offline. And if you know what you're doing, you can even get the episodes you purchased to play anywhere, such as a home media server, or even an Android phone. As far as I'm aware, iTunes is the only digital content platform that this is true for.
So anyway, go support the show! The creators really deserve our support, and despite how abusive inconsiderate Cartoon Network has been to us in the past, I think we should show them that they made the right decision in making the show available digitally.
So, ever since Proton came about, and especially in the last 6-12 months, the Linux Gaming community (in my opinion) seems to be in a kind of cruise control. Most games work, the overwhelming consensus is that it's just a matter of time until almost all games work, and that things will only continue to go up from here. But there are quite a few potential swaths of darkness on the horizon (no future pun intended)...
I've mentioned some of them in threads here before (not OPs, just commenting on threads). Things like a complete lack of support for Ray Tracing and DLSS in Wine/Proton (and apparently not even a semblance of an indication that this work is coming in the near future). The ever-growing specter of Easy Anti Cheat. DX12-exclusive games. No HDR. No VRR support unless you're only using one monitor (unless you have both an AMD GPU and are masochistic enough to use Sway with Wayland). Just a ton of things that aren't a huge deal now, but objectively will be very, very big deals in the future.
Ray Tracing and DLSS (and its rival implementations) are NOT fads. That much is obvious at this point. Nor is HDR or Variable Refresh Rate. Vulkan is obviously not taking the PC game dev community by storm. Things are nowhere near as rosy as they seem.
But those aren't even the most worrying potential storms brewing. Those are all nice-to-haves, but none of them completely stop games from running (DX12 can, but VKD3D-Proton is advancing quickly, so I'm not counting that as a show-stopper). No, the most worrying one is one that's started to crop up more and more, and I feel like it's painfully obvious that it's not going anywhere. And that's UWP.
Two major games that have released in the last week, Horizon Zero Dawn and Microsoft Flight Simulator, are refusing to run because of (among other seemingly fixable issues) UWP infection. Instead of Xinput, Horizon Zero Dawn is using UWP's gamepad API (despite being on Steam and not the Microsoft Store). Microsoft Flight Simulator is using a host of UWP junk it seems, including a speech recognition API that's (again, seemingly) required to run the game.
UWP is absolutely something we need to be concerned with, yet it's (almost) never talked about. So too do the other brewing issues I mentioned earlier. Everyone's so focused on anti-cheat that we're seemingly failing to realize that we won't be able to run ANY games, anti-cheat or no anti-cheat, if this continues.
I'm not a developer (I'm just n

You are part of the Synchronatic Defense Agency and its your job to preserve history and to ensure what should happen does happen.
There are various criminals, some accidental and some purposeful, who travel the time stream and change things, screwing up history to disastrous results if not stopped.
You have to go to different periods of history and piece together who the culprit is and how thy will or have screwed up history using clues in a kind of "LA Noire" style of piecing things together.
You also have to determine how to deal with them. You have different options and tech at your disposal but, of course, if you use it on the wrong person or if it turns out the culprit, themselves, is somehow important to the time stream then you can do more harm than good with your actions.
Other than the basic approach to the detective work, I'm not sure what else would be involved. It certainly is a larger overall project than I will be tackling anytime in the near future (pun intended) ;)
I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.
Orion Energy Systems Inc. is an American LED lighting and intelligent controls enterprise, founded in Plymouth, Wisconsin, and headquartered in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. At the time of writing all numbers are accurate.
I don't often make plays with high beta stocks because I'm a simple guy who likes simple, boring, predictable stocks that have seen an unfair short term valuation, but with the world continuing to work from home and public sentiment still leaning firmly towards the "We will continue to work from home for the rest of our lives" it's hard to ignore the insane deals that currently exist in the industrial sector, and OESX at this price is just... it's just too insanely low to ignore.
Orion designs, manufactures, markets and manages the installation and maintenance of LED solid-state lighting systems, along with integrated smart controls for commercial customers. That's it, that's their business model. They literally build and install lighting systems. Everybody on planet Earth needs lights, commercial enterprises are no different, and with 40% of the Fortune 500 buying their lights from Orion they have a great story, a great USP and strong installed customer base.
Let's look at the numbers.

So without a deal between Sony and Disney, Sony looks like it might try its hand at producing a movie solo. This leaves a massive hole in the MCU as Spider-Man was supposed to replace Iron Man. Honestly, I saw this one coming and if the general public think they know what is up Disney's sleeve, they are usually wrong. Disney is full of smart men and women. They would have a plan either way, so what is plan B?
In Iron Man 3, Harley Keener is gifted an Iron Man suit to tinker with. In, Endgame we see him at Tony's funeral. One can safely assume that Tony kept in touch with someone he trusted with his tech. This would because great fall back as Iron Lad is a key member of the Young Avengers team and would fit in great with the Iron Family concept going around the web. This is great for a couple other reasons.
Should Harley Keener be the next Iron Man, it would make for a great storyline for Spidey to return should Disney strike a new deal with Sony. It would revolve around an almost sibling rivalry. Harley would be very jealous of Peter and his relationship with Tony. After all, Harley has known him longer and been working with Tony to develop new tech since before Spider-Man was in the picture. Now we have one item that really symbolizes their relationship (Tony and Peter), the staged picture for the Stark Internship. This could be a focal point for Harley as he never had that relationship with Tony, despite saving his friggin life in Iron Man 3.
This is also great because using that rivalry between Peter and Harley could be what drives Iron Lad to become Kang the Conqueror as he is in the comics. This would replace a storyline where "Nathaniel Richards" gets stabbed as a youth and this drives him to the side of evil. After becoming Kang the Conqueror, he travels back in time to save himself from getting stabbed and teaches his younger self about all the new tech he has acquired over the years. Kang does this with the hope that it would create a more powerful version of himself. This, however, backfires and Nathaniel Richards seeks out the help of the Avengers. He finds Avengers HQ abandoned as the Avengers are all gone. He does however find a tape from Vision that instructs him to seek out select persons with powers to recruit them as Young Avengers. I really enjoyed the good scenes he had this season, like saving Alex (Twice!), him dancing with the hooker at prom, him enjoying the house party, and getting drunk at the college tour, although he did get arrested right after.

I like to think about philosophy, and I consider time and time-travel as being a topic of Philosophy. Although I perfectly understand the value of science I prefer to think in philosophical terms. Logic, aka the purest form of philosophy, is the basis for all our understanding of knowledge, consequently being the basis for the scientific method. I like to think about time and time-travel with Logic, close to the ancient greeks rule of thought I'd say. I'm not interested in factual answers but rather answers that make sense. I don't even want something that rigorous, time can have different meanings when we're talking about fiction. I want something I could use for writing a story for example, avoiding the usual plot-holes, or even create a game about time-travel. I also want to avoid things like "fate" and "not free will", this would gravely hurt the narrative.
I'm ok with paradoxes, it can even give a sense of danger for the characters. My problem is how stories fix these problems. In "Back to the Future" the hand of Marty McFly begins to disappear, so George has to kiss Loraine or whatever. The movie is awesome but this "hand" part I think it's a little "cheesy". And it's not just that, if you can travel to the future then that means that you don't really have control over your life. In "Back to the Future II" Marty goes to the future and sees his son. But that means that Marty's life has already been pre-determined, so no matter what he does in that future or his own present it will always yield the same result. The story loses its conflict, you already know what will happen. And if the future is already pre-determined then the present becomes meaningless, and so does the past. This type of time-travel becomes just normal travel. The point of time-travel is to alter events that happen after and before the present. If you can't do that then the past and present become spacial locations, rather than time locations, it's boring. If I were to write a story I would avoid something like this.
I would very much appreciate feedback and new ideas for new types of time-travel, that's why I'm writing this post in the first place. English is not my main language so I apologize for any weird phrases or choice of words.
I will list here a few I know and give my best interpretation over them (hope I don't make any mistakes).
Then I

... keep reading on reddit β‘My friend Bryan was one of the most popular kids in the grade. Being captain of the track team and serving on the student council certainly helped him out in this respect, but the primary reason why people loved him was his mischievous streak of creating puns.
Bryan was crazy about puns, and now that I think back, his obsession was extremely unusual. He started in freshman year, when heβd think up a (usually cringy) play on words that he would pass around class. It quickly escalated from there. To him, puns were a religion, and he was a missionary. Each day, heβd go around shouting about the βbeauty of punsβ, and heβd grab any unsuspecting student to try to persuade him/her to βjoin him in spreading a passion for puns throughout society.β Of course, everyone thought he was only joking around at the time, and lots of us actually encouraged him to think up new puns every day.
So, Bryan took it a step further: he gave us puns in real life. When we went out for ice cream together, heβd slip a pinecone into his pocket, and place it next to the cone sizes on display. βSee,β heβd say, βsmall cone, large cone, waffle cone, pine cone!β Another time, when heβd hung out at my house, heβd run up to me, exclaiming, βJoe! Thereβs a leak in your fridge! Youβd better fix it up, man.β When Iβd gone to check, Iβd found that Bryan had placed a leek right in the middle of my refrigerator.
Bryanβs puns eventually became so legendary that everyone would be clamoring to find out what would be next. Bryan would constantly be pestered with requests for puns, and heβd be overjoyed at the amount of attention that his jokes were getting him. But then it all went wrong.
It was the first time Bryan had ever gotten in trouble with the school administration. Bryanβs history class had gone on a field trip, and during the lunch break, tons of adults had come to our supervisor, complaining about Bryanβs behavior. Although I wasnβt there to see it, I heard later on that Bryan had been seizing strangers off the street, asking them, βDo you want a kiss? Do you?β Once heβd gotten some answer, heβd pulled a Hersheyβs Kiss out of his pocket, laughing his head off at the strangerβs reaction. Apparently, the administration hadnβt been too amused, and Bryan was suspended and banned from future field trips.
That incident started a decline to the popularity of both Bryan and his puns. No matter how hard he tried, nobody wanted to have anything to do with his jokes anymore, seeing as his last pun

Heya, longtime lurker here. What do you predict the future history of the church is? I have been reading a lot of polls from SLT and Region News Service but I still find it difficult to predict how the church will respond to the changes and challenges presented it.
While the church has responded to past societal pressures and transitions through claims of divine revelatory process, I'm curious to know what others' opinions are on the matter? How many years does it have left, and what major policy and doctrinal shifts are we likely to expect?
Is it going to become more insular or attempt another doctrinal transition? The way I see it is that the church is kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place, as neither TBM's, postmormons nor neverbeen's are likely to take any major new policy/doctrinal change seriously, yet at the same time, should they not respond to these pressures they're only going to continue leaking like a sieve.
As a gay exmo my own faith transition has been difficult, even though it's been 3-4 years since my exit from the church, and I'm a bit worried for my TBM family's mental sanity should the church's future be as rocky as some are predicting.
