> The NBA has announced Friday's Game 6 between the Clippers and Jazz will tip off at 7PM PST. Staples Center will be at FULL CAPACITY for Game 6.
In their first game without cardboard cutout fans, the Los Angeles Clippers will have a chance to win the series against the Utah Jazz. Paul George provided a much needed carry-job for the Clippers tonight. He is "Pandemic P" no longer.
I'm extremely fearful of needles, like a phobia. I turn into a child (I'm approaching 30), it's embarrassing, because no one likes needles, so people think they understand but do not. I panic, I shake, it's a whole thing. I had to have someone bring me in today so I wouldn't just go straight through to the exit.
I swear the lady at the door spotted me from a mile away. she pulled me aside so I wouldn't see into the room where they do the shots, asked whether it was crowds, needles, or vaccines that was upsetting for me. she pulled me through to a separate area, where I was able to lay down in a curtained off room to get my shot. The nurse, Brigitte, answered all my questions and was so supportive.
I'm trying to acquire more positive needle experiences to stack up against a lot of bad ones, so if you're also very afraid of them, I highly recommend going here, and along for support that works for you. They were incredibly understanding and supportive, much much moreso than when I've tried to get my flu shot in the past.
The first press conference was at the Delphi United Methodist Church. The Wabash & Erie Conference and Interpretive Center was first opened in 2003. Because the latter may have been available in February of 2017 why didn't LE have the first presser there and/or why didn't LE have the April presser at the church? The site for the April presser may be insignificant but considering the hype involved with the changes in direction, etc., could there be some significance in having it where it took place? I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on the location chosen for the April presser. Thanks in advance!
Summarizing their words to use for your convenience!, whenever they speak publicly, whether itβs COVID-19 related, or issues (mostly) pertinent to New York City.
Going on for a year strong and 7 months in its own thread series, sharing what goes on in NYC/NYS politics and more!
As of June 2021, Iβm still continuing the Daily Summary Thread until 3 out of 5 of these conditions are met:
Itβs not necessary and Iβm uninterested in continuing aka not much is made in terms of news.
Just about everything in New York State/New York City is reopened, in full, pre pandemic capacity, or in some cases, extra capacity thanks to elements like outdoor dining/open streets.
Either the pandemic is finally declared over, and/or cases/deaths/metrics reach all time lows on a sustained weekly average, whether using city or state metrics, aka metrics mirror where they were compared to the start of the pandemic. Already reached on June 2021 βοΈ
70% of the stateβs adult population (+18 year olds) have been partially vaccinated. During a June 7, 2021 press briefing, Governor Cuomo says if the state has vaccinated 70% of adult age New Yorker statewide, most remaining restrictions / mandatory protocols will be lifted in the state, unless if itβs a federal guideline. Meanwhile in the city, nearly 64% of the cityβs population are partially vaccinated, as of the second week of June 2021.
The end of the year (New Yearβs Eve) / last day of Bill de Blasioβs mayorship. Seeing how things are now as of this spring/summer, the city and society in general should by then have no issue curbing the pandemic, and having most degrees of normalcy again.
I thought it was appropriate now to lay out some guidelines as the overall situation is improving, and understandably/fortunately we can all move on with life! If/when those conditions are met, then Iβll update you all on what the future of this thread would be like.
Try to keep the conversations only about what Bill de Blasio and/or Andrew Cuomo said during these press conference(s).

Dwight Howard is determined to win personal back-to-back NBA titles.
The reserve center helped the Los Angeles Lakers win their 17th NBA title in October.
Now a 76er, heβs focused on winning another one next season. He made that obvious Saturday on Twitter after signing a one-year deal.
He also expressed his desire to win the title during a brief interview Monday after arriving in Philly. And he triple-downed on it during Wednesdayβs introductory Zoom call with local media.
βI believe that this is our year,β Howard said. βItβs been a long time since 1983 [when the Sixers last won an NBA title]. So I think itβs time that we hoist up another banner here in Philly.β
A lot of the Sixersβ success will depend on all-stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, the teamβs cornerstones.
Howard saw Embiid cry after losing to the Toronto Raptors in Game 7 of Eastern Conference semifinals in 2019. He remembers the pain the center felt after giving everything he had.
Howard said itβs a pain that stays with a player for a long time. So he knows Embiid has a fire inside him.
This upcoming season is about being focused. Howard sees focus in Embiid and Simmons.
βThatβs where it starts, with our two best players,β Howard said. βAnd then you look at the rest of the guys on the team. Theyβve all been hungry. They just never knew how to win.β
Thatβs where Howard and swingman Danny Green come in.
The Sixers acquired Green and Terrance Ferguson from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Al Horford, a protected 2025 first-round pick, the 34th overall pick in last weekβs draft, and the rights to Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic.
Green was a starting guard on the Lakersβ championship team before being traded to the Thunder this offseason.
It was Greenβs second straight NBA title and third overall. He won the 2019 title with the Raptors and in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs.
βWe all know what it takes to really get to the next level,β Howard said. βI think itβs a really great opportunity.β
New coach Doc Rivers also knows what it takes. He coached the Boston Celtics to the 2008 title. Howard said Rivers is always talking about winning and the importance of it.
βI think that this year, with the focus that this team will have and the drive that we have to be successful, this will be our year,β Howard said.

My two conferences are called Find Your Way and Map My Camp.
The Find Your Way conference focuses on land navigation, orienteering and GPS. We will send you home with advanced skills in map reading and route finding. You will be expert in the navigation requirements for all ranks through First Class as well as the Orienteering and Geocaching merit badges. No map will ever confuse you again and you'll be ready to put on events for your troop, district or council.
The best part of this conference is that we spend half our time outside practicing. Unlike many groups that spend the majority of each day in a classroom we spend our days rock hopping, running through the woods and enjoying the clear mountain air.
The Map My Camp conference is an outgrowth of the first. We realized that we were sending people home with the skills to put on great year-round and summer camp programs but that many councils did not have the kind of accurate detailed maps needed to make them truly successful. We will not only show you the process for building up a map but will also work with each participant to take home the makings of a map of their favorite camp.
Learn how to find publicly available data anywhere in the US. Using free software you'll convert the data into full featured maps showing topography, vegetation and manmade features. Your map can be used for camping, hiking, backpacking, biking, orienteering and many more outdoor activities. If your camp is huge we can help you break it up into bite sized chunks.
This will be a highly technical conference. Participants will need a computer. We will explore not only old school methods of map making (like walking and drawing with pencils) but also new age methods using LiDAR, GPS, range finders and handheld tablets. If you are a map nerd this will be heaven on earth.
Another great thing about the Philmont Training Center is their wonderful family program. While you are doing the conference thing there are activities all day for spouses and kids. It is the world's best day camp and makes a great family vacation.
I am happy to answer questions and here is the official link for more information: https://www.philmontscoutranch.org/ptc/

Miami is hosting the largest-ever cryptocurrency conference this week in a sign that what was once dismissed as a passing fad is now going mainstream.
The conference, which runs from June 3 to June 5 at the Mana Convention Center in Miamiβs Wynwood neighborhood, brings a host of reputable attendees including Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who has said he wants to make the city a crypto hub.
The conference was originally scheduled to run from April 30 to May 1 in Los Angeles but was changed to Miami amid concerns of Californiaβs strict COVID-19 policies. The date was also changed back to allow time for the second wave of the virus to pass and allow vaccines to roll out.
Conference organizers expect upwards of 50,000 attendees.
Though still small compared to its west coast counterparts, Miami has emerged as a major tech hub in recent years. The Wynwood neighborhood, in particular, has become a hub for arts, technology, and innovation.
Mayor Suarez told Fox Business in January he is looking into allowing citizens to pay taxes and fees to the city in bitcoin.
"We want to be one of the most crypto-forward and technological cities in the country," he said. "So we're looking at β¦ creating a regulatory framework that makes us the easiest place in the United States to do business if you're doing it in cryptocurrencies."
