A list of puns related to "Business Wear"
Inspired by u/chandel_eyre post I decided to rewatch this episode and this is gold.
Highlights: Robyn and Meri both cry. A lot. Meri because she hates public speaking and Robyn because she loves the business?
Meri and Robyn have lunch about Meris plan to go back to school and Robynβs talking head is so revealing. Sheβs worried that by getting a college degree, Meri will pull away from the family. I mean, Meri did pull away but wtf? Is that why Robynβs kids havenβt left the nestβ¦college is bad because you might leave your fahmlee?
Christine is an encouraging queen.
They go to a therapy appointment and when asked who is CFO, Kody says Robyn. Janelle is upset and speaks up and Kody gets very upset. He talks about how heβs never been the true head of the family. Foreshadowing.
Kody is going to vomit some metaphorical truths.
10 million???
The outfits they chose for the presentation are questionable. Christine says their target demo is women 18-50. No 18 yo is buying that. Their own daughters were 18 and wouldnβt wear that.
I love it. Join me.
Editβtheir investor friend says βthe Browns are lucky we didnβt walk out of the roomβ
When do business majors start wearing suits? And will I have to wear a suit even as an MIS major?
I own a single member LLC for IT consulting and needed something professional to wear to meetings so I bought a dress shirt and had my company logo embroidered on it.
In the process I learned that I could not only deduct the cost of the embroidery as a business marketing expense, but the cost of the shirt as well.
I just bought a nice $300 North Face winter jacket which I wear everywhere I go and I was thinking of also putting my logo on that.
From my point of view, it's a logical financial decision and also free advertising. However I wonder if there's a negative stigma with doing this that I haven't considered (I have next to zero social awareness).
What do other small business owners do?
the church brainwash them to wear these ungly garments to go to the heaven. then, the members will buy and wear them for the rest of their lives. design and quality don't matter. no matter how uncomfortable they are. those garments will be sold.
do we know how much the mormon church makes from the garment bussiness? i bet the distribution center is the biggest underwear distributor in the world. does the church report on how much revenue they bring in from the garments bussines?
So, my ex broke up with me 10 days ago. Today, he posted a photo of himself with a watch on his wrist. He literally took a watch photo from amazon, photoshopped it and put it on his wrist in his photo using photoshop. He hates watches. He told me how theyβre silly and how he would never wear one.
Bare in mind, I buy and sell and just generally love watches And he knows that. Watches are my life.
Why would he do that editing a watch on himself? Is it to get my attention?
I have been no contact since he broke up with me.
Doing research for a marketing university module.
Luxury in the range $1200-$2500
Business wear around $800
If you didn't know, I make furry tails for Etsy. Well I wear them out commonly and I get a lot of compliments and people sometimes will ask me and once in a blue moon I'll get some work out of it. I don't want to be a walking billboard. My mother seems to think that I should make a sash that goes around my tails for people to read that sells furry tails for sale. Why the hell would I do that? My girlfriend thinks that that's the dumbest idea my mother is ever come up with. Even my friends and other furry friends have said that why would you do that? You are definitely attracting enough attention as it is with your tails.
Do y'all think that it would be overkill since I'm already wearing a tail in public to add a sash to it that says something like furry tails on Etsy for sale or something
After reading Corporette, the recognized authority on all workwear, I decided we needed to have this conversation.
After it-that-must-not-be-named (COVID, I'm totally talking about COVID) I decided to reexamine my wardrobe in my business casual office. What do you not wear in your business casual office?
I choose not to wear these things that are specifically called out pretty much everywhere as not being business casual.
Some examples:
Leggings
Atheleisure
Lace and see through tops
Acid wash jeans
Shorts
Graphic/Slogan T-shirts
Corset and bustier tops
That business casual actually has a definition and somewhat agreed upon standards is totally a revelation to me and I thought this was interesting to discuss for this group of us in our 30s who somehow didn't realize what to wear in our business casual office jobs until now.
I feel like I did such a glow-up now that I stopped wearing things to the office that are specifically banned in most business casual and smart casual dress codes.
And it-that-must-not-be-named was totally relevant to this conversation and definitely needed to be shoehorned in for some reason.
I hope I get exciting revelations in the comments like how I shouldn't wear shirts that show a ton of cleavage to work in my business casual office. Or flip-flops. Or jeans with holes in them. Or rompers. Or cropped shirts. Or birks. Maybe even not hoodies. Who knew?
I honestly hate wearing business clothes or a uniform. Not because I hate the look but that I'm limited in options. When I was in school I felt like I had freedom to express and wear what I want. Now I can't wear a t-shirt or shorts until after work or on the weekends and that doesn't sit well with me.
Obviously you don't want to wear pajamas to work but I don't get this need to be professional and dress to impress. I just go to work and do what I do. My clothes have no impact on my work. I just feel like a prisoner in my business attire. I hate that this is who I am now. Anytime I see kids in school I'm so jealous like why can't I look like that anymore?
Trying to find a staple outfit thatβs comfortable yet business looking, and relatively wrinkle resistant. Specifically looking for recommendations for womenβs attire, and can range from business casual-standard business. Not any more formal than that. Thank you!
Grew my hair out during COVID and now weβre back in the office and struggling to find an acceptable style. Currently have a plain colored headband and wear it up. What do you do?
Sparked by a recent Corporette post, I thought it might be interesting to reassess the do's and don't-s of office fashion now that certain current events have shaken up the landscape of officewear.
For my personal office, we're smart-casual leaning towards business casual. Jeans are okay, but leadership and mid-level tends to stick to non denim and true business casual.
Generally, I don't wear:
Leggings or any other athleisure, no matter how nice/expensive, or clothing made out of performance fabric/tech fabrics
Genuine running sneakers, or big chonky fashion sneakers
Trendy jeans like acid wash, mom jeans etc---I stick to slim straight jeans or slight flares/baby boot
Skimpy sandals, or shoes where there's more foot than shoe showing
Shorts, skirts above the knee, skorts
Midi or maxi skirts unless they are tailored (and I don't own any tailored maxi skirts!)
Jersey bottoms--meaning knitted pants of any kind, and in general knitted skirts, unless it's a specifically made workwear item like from MM LaFleur and it's tailored/architectural
Stompy boots or shoes, Doc Martens
Sheer, lace, mesh anything with the very possible exception of a mesh layering piece that's barely visible
Slogan tee's
I've actually gotten rid of my waterfall and other unstructured cardigans, they didn't feel quite polished enough for my work! Also big comfy slouchy grandpa cardigans are a no go
Novelty anything, including jewelry unless it's very high end/well done. I recently wore these cute witch hat earrings pre-Halloween but these fun mushroom ones are a bit too much I think. This includes expensive blow your mind novelty shoes like Irregular Choice or Fleuvogs--as beautiful as they are, they're just not work-ready.
Brunch-wear like button-front dresses, swing dresses, sundresses + cardigans, statement sleeves, sweater dresses, spinnaker dresses, off the shoulder/cold shoulder, corset bodice, bustier bodice, stuff like that.
To be honest, my fashion selection got a LOT more boring after I decided to up my game and do a glow-up post COVID return to office and I'm glad I did!
