A list of puns related to "Breck"
Stay safe! Should be safe enough when you're away from everybody outside, but just know what you're getting into if you're making plans to go on vacation or spend the day skiing!
I had my skis stolen off of a ski rack outside of the Vista Haus lodge on Peak 8 at Breck on Monday. I filed a report with ski patrol, left my info at the Breck Sports rental shop at the base, made a lost and found ticket. Since they hadnβt turned up yet ski patrol then recommended that I file a police report.
Has this happened to anyone else before? And if so what else did you do/did you get your stuff back? Should I have hope? It feels like a lost cause already..
I enjoy hearing these travesties so wanted to share mine. Got going on I-70 Friday night after work, hit traffic around 470 interchange near 5:30 pm. It seemed like no cars were moving and everyone was packed in. The Google maps showed two separate 1.5 hour traffic jams. One from Morrison past Idaho springs. The other near the tunnel.
We said f it and figured 285 would be, relatively, better. Just getting off of 485 via Morrison way (the 285 exit was closed for some reason) took 45 minutes due to icy conditions and everyone else having the same idea. It was a crawl 20-45 mph for most of the way with the range of 30-40 stranded cars that along the highway in various sections. I didn't realize how up and down 285 was. No one was driving well. Finally there was a relief on the long western side decline into Fairplay where there was considerably less snow and ice.
Next, the Hoosier pass into Breck was one of the scariest moments of my life driving. White out conditions, had to stop a few times because we couldn't see 10 feet past. Cars coming down in the opposite lane nearly crashing into us, but we welcomed new cars coming because it helped define the road. We were the only ones going northbound which didn't lend much confidence.
Next was the Copper canyon pass. Not so bad because far less cars at the time. Vail pass wasn't that bad but still challenging. The slowdown was mainly from 100 cars trailing two plows. Past Vail we got up to 80 mph speeds into Glenwood Canyon, which felt strange after the slow climb everywhere else.
All that said, fuck that night
Venting a bit but serious question as well.
Have epic passes for the whole family including kiddos. Trying to book lessons for the kids using the school kids pass (or whatever itβs called). In this instance they lessons have to be booked by phone, no option on site to do so. Tried the numbers given on breck.com, one listed in the epic site, etc etc etc and all yield to a message saying the call center is unavailable.
Kinda pissed and frustrated at the whole scenario (as I see many are) and was wondering if anyone could offer some advise.
Thanks all!
Edit: I did find the chat function!!! It apparently doesnβt work in safari. Works in Firefox and chrome.
A couple of friends and I are gonna go all out and pay for a private instructor to help us get rid of bad habits and push our boarding to the next level, but I wanted to know if anyone here had any recommendations for a specific instructor to request. We're all in our mid to late 20s, and are pretty comfortable going down any terrain if that helps at all in narrowing down suggestions.
Hello. Iβm a late 30βs woman just about to book a 4 day visit to Breckenridge over New Years. I plan to fly into Denver and get an Epic shuttle to the lodge, which is walking distance to lifts and Main Street. Iβll rent skis when I arrive and do group beginner ski lessons every morning.
Is there anything else I should be aware of or bring with me or any tips to have a good time? Iβve bought ski boots and an epic pass. Iβve only been skiing once before and as Iβm doing this by myself I just want to make sure Iβm considering everything. Weather, NYE plans, shuttle, apps to download etc. Will it be easy to make some friends to chat over drinks or dinner? It there ski etiquette I should be aware of?
Thank you
Hey everyone! Iβm Kirsten, the LQ, and Iβm finally back with an episode recap. The most recent episode of the West Saga was the darkest yet, with several questions being answered and a few more coming to fruition. So letβs break it all down, shall we?
**Spoiler warning for the GCU, especially the West Saga!**
We begin with a flashback to a few months ago. There, we see Louis standing in the hallway with another person, holding the Chargers jersey we have seen all season. They have a brief conversation about how this new person can go on the show if he takes on a new alias. Louis remarks how his stepbrother does not need the jersey anymore and that this person can have it. In the end, the person asks, βWhat do we get if we win?β Louis smirks and replies, βEverything,β and the scene ends.
This sparked a lot of questions across the fanbase. The new person mentioned the name Francis, and if he had to take on that name. Well, Francis is not just some random name that has been thrown out there. If you go all the way back to the Chargers Fan Reaction of the 2019-2020 season, you will meet Francis. That character is, or was, the step-brother of Louis. After he got invited to the show, Louis got jealous, heard a voice in the front yard that sounded a lot like Chomas, and all of the sudden, Francis is gone. Itβs an odd set of circumstances. Is it possible that Louis got rid of his step-brother? Yes. Especially with Chomas at the reins.
Okay, well thatβs a bit dark, but who is this new character? We know the Chargers fan in the West Saga as Diego, so is this person Diego? To put it simply, yes. His real name is Diego. But, a question is still floating around. What happened to that βNoahβ name from the first episode of the AFC West house? Well, Diego tried to go by Noah, the perfect name, but since the Chargers didnβt end up being perfect, he had to resort to Diego. What a weird series of events.
We then jump back to the present day. Louis is trying to convince Diego to vote for Jerry, again. After some threatening comments, Captain Finn Oakley walks in to tell the duo that there will not be a vote that night since Breck is leaving. Diego and Oakley have some words, and then Oakley and Louis argue a bit before the Rams fan concedes. There will not be a vote for another week, as long as the crown remains where it is. The Captain then excuses himself. Louis and Diego then agree that if the Captain knows anything about the two of them and their plan, then he wil
... keep reading on reddit β‘Long story short, my hotel had a pipe burst and it flooded, reservation cancelled. Limited options for a group of 9 for bookings over holidays now. Found availability in Georgetown which is nearly an hour drive. My concern is that we have lessons for the kids at 9am, we have to park, take gondola ride up to peak 8, get equipment. On December 26th early AM and I going to be able to make it to Breck in an hour? Seems like I'd need to leave hotel by 7 to make it by 8, does that give me time for gondola and equipment pickup?
I was booked 3 months in advance, can't believe I'm having to make this change last minute!
Update: I was able to book in Silverthorne. Thank Oden. A manageable drive. Weight lifted. Thank you all!
We are considering a trip to the rockies for skiing but I've never gone that late in the season... Anyone with experience know how the snow is last weekend of March (typically)?
Thank you!
We went downtown for dinner and sights. Found a Fantastic joint with amazing shepherds pie and bourbon. A couple dudes sat down next to us and we thought nothing of it. I wanted to find a dispensary so I lean over and ask one dude for a recommendation. Turns out- Shaun White doesnβt smoke. π€¦
I know this isn't ice coast, but I live in the ice coast! I couldn't get an answer on other subs
So we all know vail sucks and rip off their ski instructors by charging absurd rates and then pocketing the majority of the revenue. Does anyone know how I can get an advanced lesson from a qualified instructor privately, without the need for a middleman? A 3 hour private lesson is almost $855. Thatβs insane. I would happily pay someone $100/hr for a lesson directly, if I knew they were qualified.
Iβve tried to contact the ski school but havenβt been successful. Iβm a level 5-6 skier and would like to get another class under my belt but Iβm confused by the wide range of levels listed under beginner-intermediate, specifically where it says βfirst time skierβ for the only group classes offered in this range. Does anyone know how these classes work? Do they further divide you into groups based on level or is it a catch all? I want to make sure itβs worth spending the money on before I end up on the mountain in a class learning how to get on a lift.
Will be there for April fools this szn and wanted to see if folks are still donning their 90βs one pieces?
Decided to change it up and go work at a ski resort for the winter. Landed a job at Breckinridge. How are others experiences working here? Truly have no idea what to expect.
Hey everyone,
We have an apartment in Copper but am trying to celebrate in Breckenridge for New Years for the bar scene. Ive called multiple different shuttles but have gotten nowhere.
Any advice of how we could get back to copper from breck late night?
Thanks in advance
Hello! All set for my trip to Breck in 2 weeks but I am still uncertain how my Epic 4 Day Pass works exactly...
My ski days are 1/30 and 2/1 (taking a break in between). On the first day, do I just show up to the lift line, get my card scanned, and hop on? The system will record that day as 1/4 and I will be left with 3 days?
My 2 concerns are -
Breck does not run out of tickets/reservations for the day I ski so when I show up I wont be turned away for not reserving?
Maybe I should have had this concern sooner - Just because I have a 4 day pass, does not mean I have to use my 4 days consecutively, right?
Sorry if these are Jerry questions - newish to skiing but went to Breck on a day ticket last year and fell in love with the Rockies. Thanks for the help!
Hey all, Iβm going to be in Breckinridge for over Christmas this year and got the go ahead to hit the slopes Christmas Day after an early morning with the fam.
Does anyone have any info on what I can expect? Iβve never been to Breck before, and Iβve never gone skiing without at least one of my buddies. So advice on either breck or solo skiing is appreciated.
Intermediate skier here, wonβt be sending chutes or double blacks. TIA
