I think the early days of Automobiles need some admiration, they put such effort back then, for 1904 it is astonishing what you can make. I believe the stanley steamer is a 1903 make, whilst the White steam motor companies wonderful motor is from 1904 hence the beginning mention of 1904! reddit.com/gallery/m0z5gv

How much pressure is needed to move the spindle carriage on the liner rails before the x-axis motor and spindle are assembled ?

I received most of my order and was able to begin assembly of a pro 4x4. Everything came except the z-axis and the motor rack/pinion kits. Anyway, after assembling the gantry on the single linear rail on each side, it moves front to back with very little pressure and very smoothly. After installing the twin linear rails on the gantry and the spindle carriage on the twin rails, it seems to take a lot of hand pressure to move the carriage back and forth along the rails. (Again, this is without the x-axis motor being installed). It moves smoothly side to side with equal pressure, it just seems to take a lot of pressure to move it. I followed the instructions to the letter when installing the rails and the carriage, putting it all the way to one side, tightening three bolts, then to the other side, repeating the process, then tighten the remaining bolts. Is this normal ?
