A list of puns related to "Betamethasone"
I never stuck to stretching properly but now I am, I told my doctor and was prescriped betamethasone cream but was told I will need to stop using it after 2 months. So far I tried rushing stretching (putting in the biggest ring possible despite the pain) this caused a cut and caused it to become tight again after leaving it. However, up until that point I was noticing really good improvements in a short time (as long as I kept at it) but Im aware Im on the more severe end and 2 months doesnt seem long enough?
Would it be possible to use the cream for longer - anyone in this reddit who has done? Also, Im currently applying cream morning and night and stretching for a bit at that time/ when im in the shower and then putting in my 2nd highest phimocure ring while I sleep. Any advice on improving this method?
I feel like the rings are good but dont provide enough force compared to manually, so I use them as more of a way of maintenance of my stretching so it doesn't go back to normal
Hey guys Iβve been suffering with sebderm for while and up until now I had been attempting to keep it at bay using Tgel I also tried Benzalkonium chloride 0.5% shampoo but it was way too harsh and actually made my scalp feel way worse.
Iβve had a telephone appointment with my doctor and theyβve given me a steroid cream as I have been experiencing hair loss and the cream is to hopefully stop follicles getting clogged and reduce the flare ups.
However I am quite concerned the prescription says to apply twice daily but Iβm worried that this is way too much. I just want to add the doctor didnβt confirm whether itβs sebderm or see my scalps condition he has only spoke with me over the phone about my symptoms.
Should I just follow the twice a day or does anyone have any suggestions or what works for them. Iβm just worried itβs too much especially to be doing daily.
My experience; Iβve dealt with mild seb derm for the past ~15 years or so. Ketoconazole shampoo and daily rinsing seemed to always work well enough, until this winter hit. Iβm not sure what happened, I got into the worst flare-up Iβve ever had. The itching was so bad Iβd struggle to sleep most nights, and Iβd even wake up multiple times throughout the night just to scratch my head.
Iβve tried everything - otc meds, 2% Keto shampoo, dietary restrictions, daily rinsing, mct oil, cool showers, humidifier in the bedroom. Nothing would work, Iβd use the 2% Keto shampoo and itβd help for a day or two, then go right back to the worst itching and flaking Iβve ever had. I mean even after a shower, I could rub my hair for a few minutes and itβd be like an endless snowfall of flakes falling out of my hair. And that shampoo was drying out my hair to a pretty fragile point in addition to the dry winter air.
I finally got prescribed .12% Betamethasone Valerate foam. This worried me at first since itβs a steroid, but I figured itβd at least let me sleep at night for a while.
The first time I used it, it was like a straight up miracle. Slight burning sensation for a moment, and then within 10 minutes or so the itching was gone. Itβs worked so well for me, that even in this worst flare up of my life, Iβve only had to apply it once every 9-10 days. Which has really eased my mind about any rebound effects as well.
The redness in my scalp is gone, and Iβd say about 85% of my scalp flakes have disappeared as well. The directions say to use the steroid twice a day over a period of weeks, but I havenβt even come close to using it that much.
Another thing to note is that during this flare up I was experience some intense hair shedding, that seems to have calmed down as well.
Obviously a topical steroid shouldnβt be a long term fix, but Iβve only used it twice over roughly 3 weeks. Hopefully it bridges the gap until this flare up is gone - warm weather / humid air / sunshine has always been the best at dealing with my seb derm.
Just wanted to share this with anyone whoβs struggling to find relief for their seb derm.
Also - I get mild redness/itchiness in the inner ears, mustache, and inner legs as well. A humidifier in the bedroom + ketoconazole cream has helped with those immensely this winter.
It was a telephone appointment, I described my skin and doctor issued a prescription. No further details on how to use he just said read the leaflet inside But leaflet inside is iljust general info
Iβm also using phimocure rings
Anyone use these together? Should I apply the cream on the outside of the skin right?
Tia
Hi all,
I (18M) saw a urologist for the first time for severe pinhole phimosis (canβt retract at all when erect or flaccid, canβt see any part of the tip due to excess foreskin), and he prescribed me to put betamethasone valerate on the tip twice a day. I asked if I should do any additional stretching or use rings or any of that and he said no. Has anyone had success with this?
He also said if this doesnβt work I should consider circumcision. Does anyone have any insight into that?
Thank you so much!
Ive stated using betamethasone cream and its caused a white discharge in my foreskin, I assumed it was a yeast infection so bought clotrimazole and used it and stopped the betamethasone, but when I started using it again it came back? Is this a bad thing?
Getting the cream tomorrow, Iβve never stuck to stretching for a routine and Iβm finally going to do it. Im sick of phimosis and I dont get a lot of pleasure from bjs which is the main reason lol.
ive got pretty severe phimosis, but I can masturbate perfectly fine, my head just doesnβt get revealed. One issue I have is when I feel like my stretching is being effective, I can get a slight cut, or instead the skin gets a bit sore and then I feel like itβs preventing it staying stretched.
also, most effective routine that you can recommend? The phimocure rings I feel like i canβt use the big ones yet, and the ones I can use are too small to really do anything (they donβt feel like theyβre stretching when theyre in just fit comfortably).
To put in perspective. I only used it on my cheeks and nose primarily and so far nothing has appeared on those areas yet. I was also able to use less and less without getting flare ups.
Hi. Just got this from the doctor but not much guidance on how to use. It's the scalp applicator bottle. Would people recommend using in night or morning. And would it stain pillows or cause issues when sleeping?
Many thanks for any help in advance.

Infantile spasms (IS) is an epileptic encephalopathy with a poor neurodevelopmental prognosis, and limited, often ineffective treatment options. The effectiveness of metabolic approaches to seizure control is being increasingly shown in a wide variety of epilepsies. This study investigates the efficacy of the glycolysis inhibitor 2-deoxyglucose (2-DG) and the ketone body Ξ²-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in the betamethasone-NMDA model of rat IS. Prenatal rats were exposed to betamethasone on gestational day 15 (G15) and NMDA on postnatal day 15 (P15). Video-electroencephalography (v-EEG) was used to monitor spasms. NMDA consistently induced hyperflexion spasms associated with interictal sharp-slow wave EEG activity and ictal flattening of EEG signals, reminiscent of hypsarrhythmia and electrodecrement, respectively. 2-DG (500 mg/kg, i.p), BHB (200 mg/kg, i.p.), or both were administered immediately after occurrence of the first spasm. No experimental treatment altered significantly the number, severity or progression of spasms compared to saline treatment. These data suggest that metabolic inhibition of glycolysis or ketogenesis do not reduce infantile spasms in the NMDA model. The study further validates the betamethasone-NMDA model in terms of its behavioral and electrographic resemblance to human IS and supports its use for preclinical drug screening.

hello! i recently found i had dyshidrosis on my palms and was using a combo of hydrocortisone and other lotions to try to get rid of it but it didnβt work. it didnβt exactly get worse, but it certainly spread. the doctor prescribed me Betamethasone and it is the only thing thatβs made a difference !! even just after 2 days now my hands look a lot better (sorry for no pics) iβll try to update at the end of the βten dayβ treatment
I ordered some 0.05% betamethasone cream online as others recommended. I wonder how should I use it. Am I supposed to smear it all over my penis or just on the top of foreskin? Should I use it before or after stretching?
Has anyone used this drug to treat hives?

I have seb derm on scalp and face , Iβve had it for around fifteen years , for five years or so I used to use betamethasone ( betnovate scalp application) quite regularly four to five times a week .
My condition was totally cleared with this treatment .
After reading about the side effects of topical steroids I stopped this treatment, for the past three years I have tried everything, all the medicated shampoos aswell as all natural treatments.
Nothing works long term , itβs been a miserable few years .
Thinking of going back on the betnovate long term , under doctors supervision, and accepting what ever side effects come with it .
Hi there,
It's been about 2 and a half months since I last posted something on this subreddit and I have moved up 4 and a half sizes since mid-May (was at size 2 and now at size 6.5). I have been making progress with stretching (with scar tissue). I heard betamethasone can be helpful with thinning down the existing scar tissue, but I have tried many times to get a prescription for it, and the doctors that I have gone to have said it would make things worst for me. I have been progressing slowly with using coconut oil as a lubricant. I'm just concerned if I will be able to cure this condition or not and that I wasted all this time stretching for nothing. Is there any else that you guys can recommend me doing to help with the process?
I have been using it for years, on and off, to treat phimosis. The issue is that betamethasone causes thin skin as well as helping the skin stretch (says the doctor). So now I'm in a position where my skin on top of the ring is very thin and prone to breakage. Imagine having a chapped lip on the tip of your penis. It's no fun.
I used a product called Betacap that my dermatologist prescribed me for my scalp, I had the idea of using it for my face. My dermatologist said it would be fine to try if I wanted to.
I've had severe severe derm for around 12 years now.
I started by washing my face with regular soap, rinsing and drying. Apply the betacap to my hand to rub into the affected areas of my face. Left it on for around 30 minutes before applying a generous amount of moisturiser.
It's been a week since I did that for the first time and no scaly skin has formed and the redness has gone away, it feels really strange since I've had this for 12 years and it feels like it's gone.
My scalp isn't perfect but I think if I go at it hard with the betacap and ketoconazole shampoo I can get the same result too :)
