A list of puns related to "Warning Device"
Reported by someone on GFN sub and support says it's a known/ongoing issue. His Shield got bricked.
So, this morning someone on my network came to me with their iphone flagging our network with a privacy warning. Here's an image that depicted what the user sees. https://preview.redd.it/sep43x9xcpt71.png?width=1034&format=png&auto=webp&s=447ff5905d355cf8b0329a3eb7432d7d5b65840e
I explained to the person that I am the one behind this, but... the message is still concerning to users that don't understand it. I see the potential for others to think something is misconfigured or blaming me for this message.
Is there a config to remove this warning?
I found this user demonstrates the same problem. https://www.reddit.com/r/pihole/comments/q90kot/ios_privacy_warning_ios_15_update/ but their issue doesn't resolve my issue.
This one. I am definitely scared of such things. Should I throw it away? It was not damaged, normal condition. I have already touched it though.
The device name is
\?\Volume{8e9fea1c-0000-0000-0000-100000000000}
Am I good or ..... ?
(Just want to be safe sorry if this seems like a stupid post or something my anxiety just shoots through the roof when I think I have a virus)
Iβm trying to watch on my phone, I connect my airpods and thereβs an annoying message on the screen that reads βstreaming video to another deviceβ but Iβm just watching on my phone. Can I not listen to it with headphones on? Why does it think headphones are a display? I hate this UI with everything in my being.
If any of you use Umbrella roaming client, they are deploying an update that will reboot devices without warning.
This is a "known issue" that "hopefully" won't happen again.
I'd recommend disabling automatic agent updates, but that's not an option, so good luck! "Hopefully" they don't screw up the next update too.
Wifi is blocking encrypted DNS Traffic, support assured me it would be resolved and im no closer than when i started 3 days ago. Has anyone seen this, whats the fix?
The warning is as follows:
Privacy Warning
This network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic. The names of websites and other servers your device accesses on this network may be monitored and recorded by other devices on this network.
Anyone know what may be causing that?
Or is it limited to the stock ROM? It'll be annoying as hell if it's there but if I lock the bootloader again in theory my device will be stuck on the stock ROM.
My friends game is crashing and giving him this warning.
We have tried everything to fix it but it keeps happening. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
My Akai MPK Mini MK3 and Korg NanoKontrol2 are both playing up following this upgrade. Iβve also lost all my AIR plugins too. Anyway else noticed this?
I've had a LIFX Z Strip for a few years. I recently moved and changed router, and was unable to pair the device again. After going insane for 3 hours, forever being stuck on "Preparing Device" while pairing my WiFI with LIFX Z Strip, I finally figured out the issue. It was a combination of a lot of small things that needed to be fixed.
This is a complete guide about all known LIFX WiFi solutions that are known to be necessary and which 100% work. It should be very helpful to anyone with connection issues!
Here's what you need to do, to give the LIFX devices the best setup:
So BA had been exceptionally sensitive to device status where it's sensibly easier to cheat...
On android, for example, the app refuses to run when adb is connected.
On iOS, the app used to refuse to run when somewhat intrusive tweaks are loaded, such as FPS counters (but not auto-click scripts, interesting)
After today's update, it refused to run on my iPad, which had previously been jailbroken, but I have restarted my iPad (unloaded the jailbreak) and deleted the jailbreak app (unc0ver for anyone interested), then restarted again, to make the jailbreak history as undetectable as sensibly could.
It still refuses to start, claiming unauthorised apps are installed. I have no clue why. If anyone jailbroken have or have not seen this problem please share your experience.

This video hits the main points very well as to why you shouldnβt use Google Authenticator.
In the past few weeks weβve seen a lot of users post devastating threads about being locked out of all of their Google Authenticator 2FA backed accounts once they reset/lost their phone. Donβt let this happen to you.
My suggestion moving forward with an authenticator is no matter what program you choose, make sure you've got a way to have a plaintext version of all of your TOTP seeds. No authenticator does everything though which really sucks.
The most popular options:
Authy - Cross platform, backs up to the cloud, great support. Does not let you export your TOTP seeds. This is my top suggestion for most people.
Aegis - Android only, lets you export TOTP seeds. Open source.
OTP Auth - iOS only, lets you export TOTP seeds. Works great across all iOS devices.
You'll find lots of options out there, but unfortunately nothing that is open source, cross-platform, and lets you export seeds. There is a github workaround for being able to export your Authy TOTP seeds but it takes a few steps.
Whatever you do though, do not use Google Authenticator. It has a bad history of locking you out completely if you lose your device (1, 2, 3). Some say it has changed now, but don't take the chance when there are so many alternatives out there that have been great for years.
Microsoft Authenticator isn't bad but I've got some concerns over privacy and security behind Microsoft in general. Itβs not a bad option though and my next choice after Authy.
Thereβs also the option of keeping your TOTP seeds on Bitwarden and having it generate your codes (premium account required). Itβs a debated issue but personally I donβt recommend it.
Iβm looking for a Homekit, Homebridge, or even a HTTP-switch plug-in work around/fix if possible.
I decided to post here first.
I am using the Homebridge http-switch plug to create a button in the Home app to initiate a sequential 10 individual url calls with a 3 second delay in between each call. This takes 30 seconds to complete.
The button works perfectly.
However, since it takes 30 seconds to complete the action, Siri always says βyour device is slow to respondβ.
Is there a work around to let Siri know the action will take longer than normal and she doesnβt have to give me a warning?
I just installed 5 NEW SONOS amps, Arc, and a few subs on a home network with in-ceiling speakers, home theater TV, eero wireless devices, CenturyLink fiber gigabit ethernet. It all worked great EXCEPT that the network and internet crashed for 5 minutes every 60 minutes, almost like clockwork. I tried debugging this over a period of many days. Disconnected a bunch of devices. Replaced cables. Updated firmware. Reset the modem. But the problem kept occurring. Super annoying and frustrating. It turns out the problem was that my SONOS devices were plugged in to ethernet cables (for better reliability and speed) AND had their "wifi" capability enabled - which is the default configuration for SONOS devices. I believe this was causing some kind of "network storm" or "broadcast storm" or "loop". I did some googling and found other people who had similar issues, usually from years ago. As soon as I disabled "Wifi" using the SONOS app for every SONOS device, the problem went away and my network has been up and running without problem for 12 hours.
I'm going to report this to SONOS support. I believe their default configuration should disable Wifi when an ethernet cable is connected. Or they should have some very prominent information in their app or setup materials to warn you of this potential problem. Or they should update their software to prevent these network storms or whatever they are. I don't believe my setup is that unusual. Their hardware and software seems very user-friendly, but this is a case where they make it too easy to fall into a pit of despair.
