A list of puns related to "Tib"
So about eight months ago I decided that I wanted to splurge on a TiB style type analysis. I loved the system and her method and I felt like it would really help me to look my best. I was super excited to hear Rachelβs thoughts. I felt like it would be a good step on my self love and acceptance journey. I want to learn how to radically appreciate myself and love myself for who I am, and doing that physically is important for me. I felt pretty nervous about the analysis, but I believed a lot in Rachelβs method and that kind of gave me the confidence to go for it.
Well, I finally got my analysis, and Iβm really struggling to not feel terrible. I absolutely hate my type. I couldnβt even finish reading it because I felt so let down. I glanced through the pictures of outfits that she included in my analysis and was struck by how little I liked them. Many of the outfits that were pictured I wouldnβt be able to wear for religious reasons. The color season that she recommended for me doesnβt feel right and arenβt colors I enjoy wearing. She referred to me as low contrast, which I found odd- I have very dark hair (although I am greying) and fair skin. In the analysis she discussed how it was quite difficult to figure out which essences I was, because I donβt look classically like those types, but nothing else fit. I feel like I donβt belong and so I was stuck somewhere because there wasnβt a place for me anywhere else.
Iβm struggling to sort out why exactly I dislike my results so much, and if the feeling is valid. Is it because change is hard and Iβm uncomfortable reframing my idea of what I look good in? Iβve struggled to work through a lot of insecurities about how I look (havenβt we all)- is it those vulnerable, barely suppressed feelings of ugliness and inferiority rearing their heads when I shine a spotlight on the way that I look? I felt like I was in a good place with my feelings about my appearance- in all honesty, this analysis has made me feel worse about the way I look than I have in a long time. Am I just generally feeling low (2021 was a hard year) and blowing this way out of proportion? Or was I actually given a wrong βdiagnosisβ?
Does anybody have any thoughts, or advice? I would really appreciate it.
Download and reseed the General Index !
(See the main description for an explanation. I can't say it better. There's even a video!)
Unpaywall and Sci-Hub are fine and dandy if you have a DOI (respectively if you do or don't care about copyright risks), but what if you don't? With most of the world's knowledge paywalled, it's often nearly impossible to find whether what you're looking for exists, let alone whether you can access it.
No more!
Thanks to several years of work by Carl Malamud of Public.Resource.Org, we now have a 36 TiB database with keywords and n-grams (short sentences) extracted from over 107 million papers. With this database, researchers and developers will be able to more easily kickstart a search engine or catalog over most of the academic literature, or to conduct countless text and data mining (TDM) studies, without having to separately retrieve and process all the original full text documents.
The database compresses to 4.7 TiB. Given the size of the data, it's often difficult to download it over HTTPS from the Internet Archive, especially if you're not in USA. So please reseed the torrents. There is a seedbox now which should make the download quite fast. (The bigger torrents are not available from the IA directly yet. The torrents I made also contain the web seeds from IA.)
The database only contains facts and ideas, so it's not copyrightable and it belongs to the structural public domain. It comes with a Creative Commons Zero (CC-0) license to make this status clearer for the unfortunate EU/EEA residents subject to database rights.
On another front, Carl Malamud recently won a US Supreme Court case against Georgia and RELX/Elsevier. Those who try to enclose the public domain of knowledge are warned!
Playing on Normal was tough (especially Croatia f*ck that mission) now onto the Nod campaign.
Iβm a DCI getting into fragrance atm and have been wondering which fragrances suit each essence. To generalize we can just do scent families/categories and then make specific recommendations if any come to mind for particular TIB types.
Natural: warm, woody, green, citrus, spicy Dramatic: aromatic, aquatic, musk, citrus or fresh spicy Classic: floral, citrus, aquatic Romantic: floral, fruity, musk, warm Ingenue: gourmand, floral, sweet, fruity Gamine: woody, aquatic, citrus, musk (possibly gourmand for whimsical effect) Ethereal: floral, green, aquatic
Heads upβIβm not an expert by any means. Iβd actually love for anyone who knows perfumes well to please comment your own suggestion of scent families for each essence. Iβve seen it done for Kibbe but Iβs love to see a guide for singular essencesβ perfume notes or perfumes that are good starting point recommendations.
>Reports out of Chicago (via Brian Scalabrine on @SiriusXMNBA) had Tom Thibodeau at Tao eating dinner with several Knicks including Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier, Julius Randle, Taj Gibson & Immanuel Quickly. βTibs in the middle like Jesus from the last supper,β Scal says.
My husband (Caucasian 34m healthy, splenectomy age 16, penicillin daily, has mild asthma) had a mountain bike accident dec 4th where he snapped his Tib & Fib - it was an open fracture and heβs had surgery to repair it, however today we visited a consultant and received an x ray which showed a huge misalignment of the fib, and a partial misaligned tib - now we arenβt specialists, but this looked WRONG.
His life is his bike - he wants more than anything to get back to normal as sensibly possible, but itβs looking already like he will need corrective surgery in a year - does anyone have any opinions on wether we should push for the correction now? He is absolutely heartbroken today, Iβd like to be able to help him make a decision. Thanks in advance
I have pictures of everything if needed. https://imgur.com/a/7o2hcwh
Just here to complain about my current state of affairs. Broke my leg - posterior tibia, fibula avulsion fracture, and Weber b spiral fracture in 2020 (downhill mountain biking). Because I was 5 weeks pregnant (now have a 2 year old daughter β€οΈ) the hospital decided not to pin my ankle.
Round 1 - Cast and NWB for 8 weeks while pregnant - Nonunion π
Round 2 - November 2020 - Still pregnant. Ankle hardware put in, peroneal tendon repair and brostrom repair. Could barely take any pain medicine bc of baby girl.
Cast and 6 weeks NWB. Cast off just shy of Covid hitting and all hell breaking loose.
Round 3 - November 2022 - My tendon, sural nerve, and the hardware has been causing me issues for 2 years so I decided to get my hardware out and my tendon looked atβ¦turns out somehow they stitched through my tendon when they were closing up my initial surgery? Tendon was about to rupture. Tendon re-repair and retinaculum repair.
Cast and 6 more weeks NWB. Now chasing a (very adorable, sweet, and fun) toddler aroundβ¦lots of hopping on one leg. By the time this is all over I will have spent a total of 5 months NWB in a cast. This doesnβt even count time spent PWB or in cam boot.
So here comes my actual complaining:
We have a nanny share and one of the moms is super self involved. She brought her kid to my house Thursday and Friday with an obvious cold (I sent her home Friday morning because it was so bad). Now my whole freaking family is super sick with a nasty cold. My daughter has never been sick before and has been miserable - not sleeping, crying, sounds terrible. Sheβs insisted on falling asleep on me a few nights in a row (gets hysterical if I try to put her down and sheβs normally a fantastic sleeper).
Anyways, my ankle feels like sh*% because I just had surgery 2 weeks ago, and now that Iβm sick itβs swelling like crazy at night and feels like itβs going to bust out of my cast so Iβm barely getting any sleep. Itβs so uncomfortable when my toddler wants to lay on me at night but of course her needs come first (and sheβs not sleeping π₯Ί). Iβm trying to catch up on the work I missed after my surgery and Iβm burning myself to the ground. Our nanny is home this week because she managed not to get sick so we also have no childcare (we only have a nanny bc daycare waitlists in our town are 2-3 years long!).
Just wanted to complain to a bunch of people who would understand how uncomfortable I am and how annoyed I am about this lady getting my kid sick and
... keep reading on reddit β‘I have a closed tibia fracture (snapped in two &was a step off fracture) & a fibula fracture. I had surgery to place a rod & screws in my tibia. I'm almost 1 week post op & was discharged from the hospital 2days ago. I'm on crutches & at home. I'm still taking muscle relaxers, blood thinners, & Tylenol.
For people who had similar tib/fib surgery: How long was your recovery? How long until you started walking on that leg? What was recovery like?
Thanks
So I'm looking to bring a car from Australia to America and thought "Who would know about crossing international borders with a car.... probably the overlanding guys! They probably do that a lot!"
Car is probably only going to be in the USA for maximum 90 days, though it may also go to Canada in that time (my wife wants to see Canada again)
Intent isn't so much for overlanding, but it's a big epic road trip as well as a few car shows. Well, car shows are the main reason, road trip is the second.
So should I be getting a Carnet? Or a TIB?
Anyone play? it's pretty active but most people play the same few maps. New blood would be fun and probably help inspire a remaster.
Searching r/running for "tib bar" produced surprisingly few results. Has anyone ever trained with one? I'm using mine for the first time tonight after having been knocked out by shin splints twice in two months this year and being told tib bar training could really help with that (among also re-evaluating cadence and form and such). I'm curious to know if or how it has helped you.
I couldn't decide between Question or Training flair.
