A list of puns related to "The Isley Brothers"
So maybe I'm just an ignorant 24 year old, but I haven't really heard of "The Isley Brothers" until now. I feel like they don't get the name recognition nor get talked about compared to artists like The Beatles, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder do.
I thought I wouldn't know any of their songs because I've never heard of the band name, but listening to their songs I realized that they've been sampled and covered by many other bands and a lot of their hits are so recognizable.
So here I am wondering, if their songs are so influential, why are they not as talked about compared to other classic artists from their time?
I love this song, but I think I like the Ottis Day & The Knights version from the movie Animal House better than the original Isley Brothers version. However I am not fond of the movie sounds, like the audience shouting or speaking, that often comes with it when I search for it. I thought there was a version that existed without it, but I am not sure. Does anyone know of a version like this?
My post-holiday wallet is telling me to only add one selection this month and I'm torn between James Booker and the Isley Brothers. Does anyone have a guess which one will be gone first?
This is the track from "taken to the next phase" released in 2004.
