A list of puns related to "Rack And Pinion"
Just that risk sucks. I can get a credit loan thing at a certain auto shop but itβs kind of a lot and could turn into a hole I canβt pay myself out of.
Anyone grind like this all the time anyways?
It also said that neither Chinese nor European muskets used the rack-and-pinion so Iβm really curious to what this meant and how it affected Ottoman gunnery
Needing to replace my rack and pinion on my new to me XC90. There is a hole in the boot on the passenger side. Has anyone done this or have any useful advice on what to expect while replacing it.
Hello All, I will preface this by saying, I donβt know much about the mechanics of any vehicle, so I am asking the experts!
I am looking at an 01 Tundra with 165k. The owner states that the rack and pinion was just replaced. Is this something once fixed, I donβt have to worry about it? Or is this a repetitive issue that would need to be addressed again in the future?
Thanks in advance!
2011 Ram 1500 Laramie ββ This all started after my local mechanic put in a new steering gear assembly, as my old one was leaking. Now, when i take sharper turns going over 15mph (i.e. a roundabout) there is an audible grinding that i can feel through the gas pedal. It doesnβt grind when in turning slowly or parking, only at higher speeds, and only on turns such as intersections. Any ideas what this could be?
Found out today that mine is leaking so I need to replace it. Found the refurbished one on Z1, but without sending mine in first (can't because it's my daily driver) its $600, so I'm wondering if theres a cheaper option. Also, is there a difference between the NISMO and base model racks? If there is but it'll work I'd love to upgrade.
Can anyone tell me what the stock brand is for the rack and pinion in a 2005 Mazda 3?
I have an 05 Acura RL. On the last dealer visit by the previous owner, the dealer wanted 3.5K to replace the rack and pinion or to do some maintenance on it. If the rack and pinion were failing, what would I notice? The car drives fine. The steering is not as responsive but I haven't noticed anything else. I don't want to drop that much money on an old car.
On the last visit, they also found that the spark plug tube seals were leaking causing damange on the plugs. They replaced and oiled the ignition coil (or coil & spark plugs) and adjusted the valves for $800.
I have worked on Volvos before and had service done on my Volvo so this is a bit more expensive than what I am used to.
Was it difficult? Tips?
I went to look underneath my car today and noticed that the rack and pinion boots were both torn and need to be placed. Looking further, I noticed that inside the boots, the points where the rack and pinion join were rusted. Does this mean the whole rack and pinion should be replaced and should I only worry about the boot. Changing the entire rack and pinion is going to be costly and the car seems to be steering perfectly fine. What should I do?
Hi all, long-time-first-time, etc. :).
We have a 2012 Prius III and last time we took it in for service at Toyota, one of the techs said it had some minor damage to the rack-and-pinion, causing a power steering leak. He said it wasn't critical and let us go on without fixing it.
Well, we just dropped it off for service again, and I'm bracing for them to tell me the time has come for a costly rack-and-pinion repair, to close this steering fluid leak.
Only I just looked online and the Prius doesn't have power steering fluid. It has electric power steering.
Are the Toyota people trying to con me? Or is there some fluid, any fluid, that could be leaking dangerously from the rack-and-pinion??
Any help would be appreciated!
