Hello and have a good day guys!
I still have one slot left for sem1 of 2022, and I am thinking of picking a breadth because I will be taking OB in the same semester, thought it would be a good idea to balance the workload a bit by going for an easy, but also interesting subject!
I have read through some old posts about these subjects, but they are all 1+ years old, afraid that they may have changed drastically?
Can someone who has done any of these subjects help me out by providing some thoughts?
I have looked at other options, such as picking a BCOM elective/free subject instead, but aside from the one I have taken and have planned, the rest don't seem that interesting to me... That's why I am looking at picking a breadth subject instead.
What do you guys think?
Thank you and have a good day yall!
Hi all,
After I graduated University in 2019 with my teaching degree, I taught in one school district (for two schools) for about four months before I was fired due to experiencing immense on-the-job anxiety that absolutely destroyed my mental health. No other teaching job I've applied for aside from one substitute job has given me more than one interview before declining me, so I am not feeling exceptionally motivated to continue as an educator.
I've always been interested in both of the other fields I mentioned; I've built roughly three desktop PCs from the ground up, and even though I was fascinated with the mind from a young age my current mental health struggles have rekindled my desire to become a therapist/psychiatrist/some other mental health professional. I know that I need much more education/money for fees associated with licensing/certification/etc., but I would love to hear from any of you in either field regarding pros/cons of changing careers.
Thank you!
Hi there! Iโm a 22 yo student from Spain who has just finished a music production degree in Solent university in UK, I was supposed to apply for a masters last year but due to external reasons I wasnโt willing for it.
Iโm not looking to get in something that I donโt like and feel bad for it thatโs what I want to cover all possibilities that I can see in order to make the best decision or at least the one that I feel the most I want to do.
I have some sort like a plan artistically due to Iโm developing myself as a producer with different artists in UK and Spain but I donโt wanna cover this technical part only, I would love to give classes to students for example, thatโs why Iโm feeling I still need to go to other places and keep educating myself.
The center of this whole thing is if you guys know about any masters degree related with this mentioned above, it can be anywhere. Any help is more than welcome, from suggestions to how to apply or however you want to help.
I was thinking in a place like Canada or a place really abroad from what Iโm used to (I have only been between Spain and UK) but I got understood that is a bit tricky to study there as an abroad student or something, in my case I come from and average family in Spain and Iโm paying for all my living and student expenses.
This is literally my first post on Reddit after being around for a while donโt mind me if this not well structured, I struggle a bit with it. Thanks for your time and help guys!
With nearly 200 of us in the zoom, surely someone's made a group? If anyone knows one then hit me us plz ๐
Iโm kinda new to university systems sorry
Has anyone here completed music psych? If so, could you provide any insight into whether you enjoyed the subject or not, what kind of content was covered, etc?
Merci beaucoup en avance :)

I would like to listen to two types of podcasts from smart people who know how to provide information for productive purposes.
One would be about psychology, deeper psychology, in which I would like to hear comparisons between occidental psychology and Buddhism.
The other would be about music, electronics, if we go by particularity, techno. About history, about tools, about how it is produced.
Unpopular because a lot of older fans seem to think that all 4th gen groups sort of blur together and that none of them are particularly distinct. Well, I think 4th gen groups are just as or even MORE distinct from each other than 3rd gen groups and especially 2nd gen groups, and I have a very good reason for this: OUTGROUP HOMOGENEITY!! Thatโs right, weโre getting psychological in this post!
I started listening to Kpop in late 2019, when 4th gen was about a year old. I listened to music from all the generations in my early fan days, trying to find specific groups and sounds I liked. I found myself gravitating heavily towards late 3rd gen and 4th gen music like NCT and Stray Kids, so thatโs primarily what Iโve listened to ever since. Iโve expanded my library a bit, but still, the vast majority of what I listen to was released after about 2016.
Thatโs why, to me, 4th gen groups are very distinct. I would never confuse an Ateez song for a Stray Kids song or an Itzy song for a (G)I-dle song, because I listen to them regularly and have picked up on the things that make those groups unique. Meanwhile, if you played me a song from a 2nd gen group that Iโd never heard before, I probably wouldnโt be able to tell you who the artist was. For example, except for their very popular songs, I could easily mix up a TVXQ song for a SHINee song, or a 2NE1 song for an f(x) song, because I very rarely listen to those artists and havenโt been able to see what makes them different from each other.
I guess the main point of this post is just that everyone who says 4th gen isnโt distinct most likely is just suffering from a case of outgroup homogeneity: you think 4th gen - your โoutgroupโ - is all the same, especially compared to how diverse you think 2nd gen - your โingroupโ - is. Meanwhile, 2nd gen is my โoutgroupโ here, and my โingroup,โ the 4th gen, seems much more heterogenous/diverse. But I recognize that thatโs just my bias as a 4th gen fan.
Hello everyone. I hope you are well. ๐
I am currently seeking participants for a 15-minute online research study on musical experience. I want to understand how different people respond to different musical experience questionnaires. We are recruiting people who are 18 years old and older with any range of musical skills (non-musicians, amateur musicians, professional musicians).

For the last few years of my life since coming out of college i have had a total head fuck that i cannot seem to create a decision for my future; Do i pursue Psychology or music? This is a very messy post but please bare with : )
I feel embarrassed to pursue music because it is not a "financially stable route".
- I flip fop between feeling clarity about both possibilities. Psychology is a lot more academic and practical, with many possibilities for careers in the future like counselling or training as a private / NHS therapist which is something very close to my heart and fits with my natural talents as I am an excellent one on one talker and very empathetic with an deep personal understanding of mental health difficulties. I engage in self-therapy everyday with CBT exercises, worry journals, and meditation. I care about people and feel most alive when I am connecting with somebody else and I have an eagerness to help others. Therapeutic psychology is something I feel just โrightโ for? Although studying A-Level Psychology at college really took out all of my enthusiasm for the โanalyticalโ aspect of it, I am not excited by papers or research, only the therapy sector.
- On the other hand, Music is the passion of my soul. I adore and obsess over my music. My earliest memory of music is using my dads brick blackberry running through his playlist over and over in my earphones escaping into alternate realities of imagination. I played guitar with mediocre progress for a few years before playing drums over the last 6 months which has hooked me. I love the obsessive culture of practice, the electric release of physical energy and the feeling of sharing something with somebody and creating in them an emotional reaction. I daydream about playing on big stages and touring the world. Although I am aware of how ruthless and difficult it is to get anywhere in the industry even after lots of study, and that nothing is guaranteed. And I know A LOT of people fall into delusions of fantasy that are not achievable and end up in these cycles of failure. I definitely have an emotional-lead bond with playing music, whereas psychology is more strategic.
- Psychology sets me up for the future and prioritises financial stability, where as music is a passion that means I donโt really care about financial stability because I feel fulfilled just playing.
It is like choosing between emotional expression or financial stability basically. I know this is such a privileg
