A list of puns related to "Mnemonic Device"
Cryptocurrencies are often secured by a "mnemonic" which is a list of words selected from a set of 2048 standard words. If this mnemonic is compromised, all the funds can be stolen.
Hypothetically, malware could listen for these 2048 keywords through the microphones on our laptops and mobile phones. Upon detecting these keywords, it could send a recording to the hacker.
I'm asking this because personally I was writing down my mnemonic and then realised I had spoken the words as I was writing. My phone and laptop were in my room with me. There is no way to change my mnemonic currently, so I am hoping it has not been compromised.
Do you think this kind of hack is plausible, or likely, or is it a slim possibility? Please be honest. Thank you for your time.
Pattern. β Pat hurn, my friend Pat took a turn. Thatβs how I remember that. Disrespect. Disray my friend DisRay got new specs. Wtf?! Lmao
Bleasdale has the blattic and the blorkshop.
Grafton is square like graph paper.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, hope this helps all the ghost hunters like me who could never remember which was which.
In theory, I understand the differences between εΎε° ζΆε° εε° θ·εΎ εεΎ and the like, but it really takes me a few moments to think it through and even then it's not a 100% success rate.
Any tips or very easy, clear examples anyone uses and would like to share? I'd appreciate it.

Missed that one on the last practice final. Hope this helps!
I am learning vocabulary and have noticed that assigning english words or phrases to the the vocab that relates to them, or an english word that sounds similar improves my recall ability. However whenever I encounter the words the english connection comes first in my head. As long as I am remembering more words this way, it is fine right? My memory ability has really gone up this way versus just trying to recognize the words.
For example, μ£Όλ§ = "I chew on the weekend"
Maybe they were at a barding school, or summer school? In NYC? The book was told from the point of view of the regular boy, and I specifically remember the Asberger's kid had the mnemonic of HOMES to remember the names of all of the Great Lakes, but during the test he thought of HOUSE and was frustrated by not knowing the lake that started with U.
Everyone can remember an equal sign. But lots of people mix up < and >, forgetting which is which.
2 = 2, easy.
Now imagine the equal sign is a scale. When both sides are equal, the scale is balanced so the top stays flat.
Now we add 1 to the left side making it bigger (heavier). this weighs down the scale on that side, causing it to tip in that direction.
Resulting in.... 3 < 2.
Easy peasy!
When I was in school we learned "My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas" to remember the planet names. What do kids now use? I'd also be interested to know if speakers of other languages learned other mnemonics and what they are! Thanks!
Crypto can be stressful and confusing. News from all over the world manages to have an impact on prices and the overall market.
What if there was a sure fire way to keep your cool and have a playbook ready for the next big piece of FUD that lands on your front page?
Now that China has banned crypto for the 978th time, Iβve created an easy tool to remind myself what to do when this inevitably happens again.

This is all about stress relief and finding your zen, and is in no way shape or form financial advice.
Reminder: Whenever you need to remember a group of anything, you only need to remember N-1 items. This is especially useful with remembering pairs, since you only need to memorize one, but it works with any group.
I know which is the pepper shaker because its one hole looks like a pip. The salt shaker is the other one.
My trick to remembering which trash bin is which? Brown is recycling because cardboard is brown, Green is garden waste because grass is gree, and Blue is trash because it's the other one.
This is super handy for memorizing foreign word pairs (left / right in Spanish = derecha is "de-right-a" and izquierda is the other one.)
Very confused.
I've done it 3 times to ensure I typed phrase correctly. The phrase i export from original solflare Wallet is retrieving a different address wallet. Luckily i didn't ever log out of my original wallet or my coins would be gone. I've moved them to new address but I'm absolutely baffled. Can anyone suggest how this could happen? I mean I'm reading the phrase of one device and typing it in the other so there is no mistake. A worry if this can happen right π
Hi Reddit, Eran Thomson here, creator of the music and storytelling game, Song Saga.
I'm here to talk about how music can spark memories, and how sharing authentic stories that have meaning brings us closer and drives deeper connections, the game, and creating and marketing party/tabletop games.

UPDATE 2: So... you may have noticed some of your questions/comments have not been appearing here. I got them all in my email inbox, but Reddit glitched - I think because I started my scheduled AMA before the system was "ready."
I am sorry. Mods have suggested we try again. If you want to be notified if/when that happens, please subscribe on the Song Saga site. And as an apology to everyone who submitted questions/comments I'd like to offer a discount code for 10% off the game: REDDITROCKS (expires 4th of July)

UPDATE: I accidentally started my AMA 24 hours early π but I am here for you. Some comments may not appear until it officially starts. Apologies.

Get rid of those screenshots and notepad entries, and do it safely.
Before you access them, turn on airplane mode. Remove your connection to the internet, just in case.
What's everyone's favorite memorable mnemonic device? I'll go first...

A few silly mnemonic devices to help students remember grammar and vocabulary
Grammar
Demonstrative adjectives
In Spanish, this and these both have Ts. este, esta, estos estas
That and those, no T shows. ese, esa, esos esas
Those far away all start with As. Aquel, aquella, aquellos, aquellas
Tense endings
(Sung like the Army marching song. Teacher sings a line; students echo her. This can be used with any tense. Just change tense endings. You can include vosotros. See below.)
I donβt know but Iβve been told,
all these endings I must know,
O, As, *A, ....Amos, An.
There are more as you can see,
listen and repeat with me,
O, Es, *E,.....Emos, En
Itβs getting late. Itβs time to go. I am now an endings PRO, O, Es, *E,.....Imos, En
*If you choose not to teach the vosotros form, just hold that letter for two beats. Like saying AA, EE,or ii
If you teach vosotros, sing this version...
O, As, A, Amos, Γis, An.
O, Es, E, Emos, Γis, En
O, Es, E, Imos, Γs, En
Stem changing verbs in the preterite
Tell your students that Ar and Er Stem changing verbs do not stem change in the preterite, but that the rebel IR verbs do, and the changes are different than in the present tense. Admit to the students that this activity is stupid, but it will help them get better grades on the next test. (I had honors classes where almost every student in the class was taking other honor classes or AP classes. They would jump to embrace every opportunity if I could prove to them that a mnemonic device would save them time and improve their grades.) Ask all the students to watch you as you demonstrate and sing the song, Iβm a little teapot. Start with an e-ie Stem changing ir verb. Tell them that in the preterite, the change is different. Itβs e-ie-i, and this only occurs in third person singular and third person plural forms. Pick a verb like mentir and model it. For every part of the verb that is normal, you form part of the teapot. For every part of the verb that is irregular, you pour out.
MentΓ. You are now forming the handle of the teapot.
Mentiste You are now forming the spout of the teapot.
MintiΓ³. Say that youβre feeling irregular, and youβre about to pour out. Pour
out. Say before you can straighten up, you have to say a regular form
of the verb.
Mentimos. You are now standin
What are some mnemonic devices you have found helpful for rules? Save a life and post ones you've been using. Some I've found helpful from Themis:
Statute of Frauds contracts (M.SOUR)
M - Marriage

U - UCC goods over $500
R - Real Property
Specific Intent Crimes (FIAT)
F - First Degree Murder
I - Inchoate Crimes (CAtS - Conspiracy, Attempt, Solicitation)
A - Assault
T - Theft Offenses (Larceny, Embezzlement, Forgery, Burglary, Robbery)
Malice Crimes - i AM certain there are only 2 malice crimes
A - Arson
M - Murder
Adverse Possession Elements (A ECHO)
A - Actual
E - Exclusive
C - Continuous
H - Hostile
O - Open and Notorious
Welcome to a very niche and particular post about how I want the folks at Themis to learn what the full whole entire point of a mnemonic device actually is.
I am sitting for the PA Bar and currently holding my eyes open with toothpicks through one of the PA distinctions lectures (all of which appear to be filmed, as a friend described it, in a hostage situation)
...and this mf really used the name of an obscure french liquor for a mnemonic device. Sir I do not want to memorize the name of a liquor used in aperitifs on breezy French afternoons to then memorize what the letters stand for. I am uncultured.
Please I am so stupid and tired
Thought it would be cool if everyone could post their favorite mnemonic devices and easy memorization techniques for L2 formulas and concepts. I'll start with a few:
CF from Operations = NI + NCC + chg WC -> CFO = Not Nearly Work
Monetary/Fiscal Policy with high/low capital flows: Rember via ERER on the right of column one because you'll be in the ER if you miss this question, then UDAU, DUUA. Remember there are four "Unknown" impacts and they never occur in the same line of the chart.
Monetary/Fiscal | High | Low |
---|---|---|
E/E | U | D |
E/R | D | U |
r/E | A | U |
r/R | U | A |
