I want to look at opaque objects under a microscope, like computer components and stuff. I assume the type of microscope I would want for that is a compound metallurgical one since that's what they're for, right?
As far as zoom, I would want to see as much as I can without needing an oil drop
Looks like the cheapest one AMScope has is almost $900. Is there a reason they're so much more expensive than regular compound microscopes?
Elon has made a couple of interesting comments about stainless steel properties, most notably how cold forming increases it's strength. The statement that caught my attention specifically was during the everyday astronaut interview. The context suggested it was part of the manufacturing process for the tanks. So, is SpaceX using the pressure test as a method of cold forming the steel?
