Fulgrim created Forgebreaker, and that has a good bit of lore on it- he gave it to Ferrus Manus, before taking it back before Istvaan V, then gave it to Perturabo. Sometime after the Heresy, it falls into Brood Raven Hands, but by the time of the War of Rust and Ruin (where Perty battles Mortarion) Perturabo has it again.
In comparison, I haven't found much on Firebrand, the weapon that Ferrus Manus created. I know it was shattered and reforged for the battle on Istvaan, was it shattered again? If so, did anyone recover/reforge it?
I'm working my way through the Horus Heresy series and I'm at The Primarchs, and until now I've not really read much that's focused on the Iron Hands, apart from their limited roles getting smacked around on Istvaan, so I was pretty excited to read the Feat of Iron short story, but having read it I'm now massively disappointed.
I'd read in other posts that Ferrus was a potential contender for Warmaster and/or that, had he sided with Chaos, it would have tipped the war in their direction, so effective was he as a commander, but Feat of Iron just makes him look spectacularly closed minded and ineffective. His response to everything seems to be to get mad about it, to the extent that his own sons fear he'll kill them in a rage, and then tell people to do it harder/better. He reads like he's one step up from Angron in terms of planning and leadership.
Actually, the thing Ferrus most reminds me of in this story is actually the traitor/Chaos primarchs from stories after they've turned. Compared to pre-heresy Horus or Fulgrim, for example, Ferrus comes across as pretty uninspired and brutish.
The Iron Hands themselves don't come across as much better, although in comparison to their Primarch they're positively chilled out. Once again though, very tactically inflexible and derisive of anything other than IH doctrine.
I know that being grumpy robot lads is the core philosophy of the Iron Hands, so I expected a bit of it, but my understanding was that Ferrus hadn't actually been so much about the self hate, but instead it was an attitude that had come about as a result of the injuries and losses taken in the Heresy (most specifically Ferrus' death). Am I misunderstanding, or is this just not well written?
Manus kill me on repeat
I just fired 300 arrows at him from outside of the arena after fully upgrading pharis bow. But to my defense i last hit him with my fire helbard +15 just to be able to say i did not cheese him (fully). What is your shame moment in ds1?
Off to go die by Kalameet.
Would you kindly calm the fuck down
I beat Manus the other day and was the only boss that took me the most tries to finally beat him ( I beat him on my 5th). I was surprised how aggressive he is and how little time he gives you to heal, and his moves are crazy and can tank your health down too. How many tries did it take you to beat him? Do yall think he is the hardest boss in the game?
after defeating him Dusk spawned on the ground just whimpering I warped to the mushroom lady and she thanked me and gave me 3 MUSHROOMS AS A REWARD. I LITERALLY KILLED THE HARDEST BOSS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED SO FAR AND ALL I GET IS SOME MUSHROOMS?? WTS!!
edit: a memorable ending cutscene would've been nice
edit2: Solaire went hollow T_T
Itβs been three months and I canβt beat him Iβm ready to throw myself off a fucking bridge
What technologies, weapons and Artefacts did the primarchs Vulkan, Perterabo and Ferrus Manus create before their disappearances and deaths?
Does anyone wanna help with me Manus ? Put down your sign Iβll summon you
Title. Just started learning him properly today and I know he'll have some one-shots regardless; just trying to make life a little easier if possible.
Also thanks a lot for you guys' help with Kalameet, I beat him today after what must've been 60 attempts. Very enjoyable fight though once I knew the choreography and just had to endure! Ended up using the gold-hemmed black set with father mask, fap and flippy ring btw so only his fire would one-shot me and if I turned my back to his lunging swipe. (With base dragon crest shield and Reinforced club +15.)
I've beaten every boss in the game so far and jumped into the DLC before going to the final boss. I've beaten the guardian, Artorias and now Manus. I know there's a dragon(last boss of the dlc) I need to kill but I have no idea where to go now.
If you can't beat the boss then become a boss. This post containt no damage, no roll strat. It may help if you tired of killing the boss over and over or you have problems with dodging or magic attacks
To beat the sh*t out of manus you need:
Sif sucks in this battle. He does little amount of damage and sometimes distracts the boss, you don't need that. You also need humanity for each summon so... Yeah, no Sif
First phase is simple:
Do NOT roll during the fight. You are the boss now! Also keep an eye on your stamina. Don't try to hit him on low staming, be ready to block his attack right after.
It takes some time to get an opportunity to hit so be patient.
Second phase:
My current gear:
"Father of the abyss" so I'm guessing a high ranking demon or straight up Hades/Devil figure. My explanation is irrelevant. I wanna hear what the OG veterans gotta say!
After I defeated Manus my friend told me he is actualy The Furtive Pygmy? Did I just kill the creator of human race? His soul looks like it's the original Dark Soul but deformed in someway.
