So I have been getting into Jung and his work, but only through videos, lectures and a read of the first few pages of “Man and his Symbols”. Because I have my exam phase right now haven’t had enough time to delve deeper. I have come across this idea, and I don’t know whether I’m misinterpreted, that in essence explains how there is a connection to our ancestors lives and memories through the inadvertent communication of unconscious behaviour and mental-structure (formed by the ancient environments out ancestors carried their lives in) by the previous generation to the next. I have become in love with that idea tracing the ever-evolving human psyche that is passed on to essentially the conception of consciousness some millions of years ago. What I’m asking for here is some guidance whether this is an accurate representation of his idea, and where can I find more about this concept. Thanks for taking the time!
