By 2088, much of Wales had come under the control of the young George McKenzie, a merchant who had gotten rich from his shipping company, Blue Horizon. Blue Horizon had achieved a near-monopoly from building ships and using those ships to trade across the various new islands that made up the British isles. McKenzie, with his new-found wealth, formed an army of mercenaries and professional soldiers to do his work in guarding ships and ports from piracy, and for securing Wales itself. Based out of the city of Bethesda, McKenzie spent the 60s bringing Wales into his realm. And in 2068, McKenzie was granted the title Duke of North Wales, allowing him to form a local government in the name of the British monarch.
Loyal to the concept of British unionism, the political system of the State of Northern Wales went through two parties: the Common Progress League and Future. Although both had links to McKenzie and Blue Horizon, McKenzie himself preferred Future. It wasn't until 2089 that a third party came into existence. Called Welsh Progressive Unionists , this new party was primarily made up of some of the more left-wing elements of North Welsh politics. They opposed McKenzie's economic dominance but still supported the existence of North Wales as a state.

The Free Wales Army shall for the year of 2132, begin a campaign to ensure military and civilian control of the southern countryside, to ensure complete control of the region of Gwynedd. This will have the added factor of ensuring that the Welsh Territory of Free Gwynedd is linked up to Powys, helping the eventual goal of Welsh unification.
FWA officers are expected to not see much resistance, though Unionist radicals may attempt to take violent action our soldiers. Should this happen, we expect all FWA officers to take immediate action to crack down on any pro-Unionist action.
