TIL The reason the graphite core in pencils is called "pencil lead" traces back to a graphite deposit discovered in Seathwaite, Cumbria, England, in the 1500s being misidentified as a form of lead. That deposit gave England a monopoly on the production of pencils until the late 1600s.

Why did Cumbria get some products earlier than the rest of the UK?
Can anyone help me out with this - getting nothing from Google. I grew up in West Cumbria in the 1990s, and I strongly remember us getting some products before the rest of the UK. One of them was definitely Sunny Delight - the TV adverts for Sunny D included small print saying βOnly available in Carlisle.β Please can someone tell me I didnβt dream this and, even better, why this was the case?

Hello! We're back to the UK... but unlike the last couple of challenges there we won't be visiting a single city, but a whole county. Cumbria is located in the northwest of England and it offers some breathtaking rural landscapes, including the Lakes District area. It's definitely a challenging map although (spoilers!) I think the seed I drew today is easier than average for this area. No photospheres. Good luck!
This is the first featured map by Dale Tyson, and the first UK map since Lincoln six days ago.

Best way to sort the grass coming through stones? There is a fabric membrane already under it. Around 4cm deep in stones too. Tried weedkiller but quickly revives itself. North England (Cumbria)

In July 2021 I have visited Rydal Cave, Cumbria, UK. Yesterday I saw the same location in S02E07 of The Witcher.
It`s about 20 minutes in, when Jaskier is having a bath. The entrance is flooded, but you can jump over on some stones. There are plenty of small fish living in there. First three shots are from the show, next three are mine.
