A list of puns related to "Device Driver"
For example, I have a Wi-Fi dongle driver that I have to download from GitHub, compile and modprobe. But maybe some day all this new drivers will go into the main kernel?
Does the man himself, Linus, approves the new driver's incorporation?
I was messing around with an Xbox360 USB controller on Fedora and decided to try and play some games with it, I plugged it in and it just worked fine with no problems, then I tried a more "obscure" controller, a Logitech f710 and it also worked so I started wondering, does the Kernel already have the drivers for every single supported device/printer/scanner etc etc etc? Isn't that kind of bloated? Why would I want to have the drivers to 10000000 different things I will never use? Is there any way to make it more modular?
Hi, I am an engineering graduate and have been working with microcontrollers for the past 3 years. Recently I had started learning linux programming with gcc for embedded based applications on an ARM based SOC. I now want to learn linux device driver implementation. Are there some good online courses that I can use. What kind of projects can I do for learning purpose.
Hi Guys,
I have created a custom iso with all the necessary drivers like vioser, vioscsi, netkvm & guestagent for windows 10. when i create a vm in proxmox the drivers show as removeable devices in in the vm which leads to mistakenly removal of drivers by end user what is the solution for this problem.
I am running Proxmox 7.1.8 (pve-qemu-kvm: 6.1.0-3)
Platform using- Supermicro Threadripper Barebone with 3995wrx
I mean the heading says it all really. There I was enjoying a nice evening of gaming, thought I'd catch up on my driver updates as I'd been away a while. Updates included something to do with the NVME controller & display drivers for the 2070 super in there. Initially just booting was the issue, but now I have no display at all, which obviously I need, to use the repair mode... to repair the booting issue.
Help π I have no idea what to do next. There are no error lights on the motherboard indicating any CPU or RAM issues.
Hi all, i've installed the Korg SQ 1 driver (pc) and it is not showing up in Ableton 10. Has any body else that this issue that could help please? I've uninstalled/reinstalled rebooted several times and no dice, cheers
I received this email recently and would like to find/confirm if anyΒ malware is in my macOS System::
"Hello!
I'm the Chinese software engineer who hacked into your device OS.
I've been watching you for month now. The thing is, you've been infected with malware through the adult website you visited... I have downloaded all confidential information from your system and I got some more evidence.
In case you're not familiar with it, I'll explain.
The virus gives me full access and control over your computer or any other device on your network. It means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on your camera and microphone, but you don't know about it. I also have access to all of your phone and email contacts, as well as access to your social media accounts.
Why didn't your antivirus detect any malware?
Answer: My malware uses a low-level device driver build-in your CPU and I update its signatures every 4 hours to keep your antivirus silent. I made a screen recording of you masturbating.
On one side of the screen is the video you're watching at the moment and on the other side is your satisfied face. With one click, I can send this video to all your contacts.
Do you want to prevent it?
I understand your concern. Especially since the video was quite vulgar, I can't imagine the embarrassment you will feel when your colleagues, friends and relatives see it.
If you need to erase all of your collected data just send 0.015 btc (Bitcoin) to a wallet that was specially generated for your email address.
Yes, it's that simple! My script will detect the transaction to the wallet and will automatically delete all the dirt that was collected on you.
I will give you 48 hours to pay.
Do not try to reply to this email, it makes absolutely no sense (the sender's email address as well as the Bitcoin wallet were generated automatically especially for you and cannot be traced). I don't make mistakes.
If I see that you've shared this message with someone else (for example, it will be open on a different device than yours), the video will instantly start being sent out to your contact list.
Take it easy. Take it as a little life lesson and be more careful in the future.
Do not start 2022 with such shame."
I work as a long haul trucker and I'd like to restore when I'm at work. Right now I have the TLC-X tugging device, but I find it kind of difficult to use while I'm driving.
Any ideas / suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
My device is Asus TUF gaming FX505DT The camera driver was USB2.0 HD UVC Webcam Windows 11 Please I really really need help.
I'm currently trying to mount two NTFS HDDs with the new ntfs3 driver, but I have no idea whether it's working or not, it shows "fuseblk" as filesystem type.
Ever been about to cry you're so frustrated with your computer?
Anyways, I'm trying to get Cubase Elements 11 to work on my computer. I had it working fine, but I recently reset my computer and reinstalled everything. Now, I can't get any audio to come out of Cubase and I can't get anything recorded. I'm working on Windows 11 and my computer uses Realtek Audio.
So Realtek seems to have its own AISO driver, so I started with that, but I am only seeing generic devices in my inputs and outputs (in both studio setup and audio connections). "HD Audio Output 1," etc. When I click on them, nothing happens; there are no other options for devices. I SHOULD be seeing "Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio)" and something similar for microphones.
Anyways, I downloaded AISO4ALL and tried that, but I'm getting the same result. Going into the control panel doesn't help either. Realtek's control panel is a joke, and AISO4ALL's is just showing me "Realtek (R) Audio" and "Oculus Virtual Audio Device" (I use this computer for VR as well, so that's a device that lives on my computer). It looks like I'm just getting more generic devices on the drop down as well.
I seem to remember using "Generic Low Latency AISO Driver" or whatever it's called when I used this program in the past, but the only drivers showing up on my computer are Realtek AISO and AISO4ALL and all the sites that have downloads for the generic look sketchy. Apparently it's supposed to be downloaded with Cubase, but I never got it.
Anyways, I'm lost. I can't find anyone else who is having this issue and customer support shuts down at 1:00pm. I'll try tomorrow, but if anyone has had similar problems, please let me know.
I bought a TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. When plugged in, Ubuntu recognized it was there, but wouldn't pair with my headset (which works fine with other devices). In an attempt to get it working, I followed the steps in this three minute video, but now the adapter is not recognized by the system at all. I think before trying a different solution, I should roll back whatever I did.
Here's what I did (per the video):
- sudo make install INTERFACE=all
- sudo make install INTERFACE=usb
- sudo make install INTERFACE=uart
In the video all three of these were executed, however, I noticed later that in the text file there's an "or" between each one. Previous to executing these commands, the Bluetooth dialog box in settings showed that the system saw the adapter, but it kept spinning as it searched for a device. This is apparently an issue with these types of dongles and Linux. Afterwards, the adapter is not even recognized as being plugged in when I check settings. I've tried remove/reinsert and rebooting.
How do I undo what I've done? (Which, honestly, I'm not skilled enough to know exactly what that is).
I've been battling with some Lenovo laptops which have not been having drivers applied to them successfully using the Invoke-CMApplyDriverPackage.ps1 script. The "ApplyDriverPackage.log" file shows the following:
