A list of puns related to "Baritone Horn"
Hi, I'm a baritone player and my section has been struggling to make up some horn moves we can do during football games, what horn moves do you guys do?
I have gotten tired of French horn and baritone is looking pretty good so any advice
I'm sick of the masses of trumpet players & cults of tuba players, where my Baritone Horn/Euphonium boys at?

Different spin on the classic four French Horns, I wanted to explore what MuseScore's wide range of instruments had to offer! All constructive criticism, suggestions, and advice very much welcome, I am a beginner to composing.
I am posting here because the baritone subreddit is awfully inactive
I am wondering on my chances for reaching my goal by self teaching as well as advice. I am not able to get private lessons as I can not financially support myself (I am a freshmen in high school). However, I am willing to stretch far and wide for methods of learning.
General Background: I fell in love with music as I take both music appreciation and music theory. After hearing both my brother's concert (which was delightful), and my school's band winter concert, I became inspired to learn an instrument to join in the setting of band. It is something I would love to experience! I already have my own baritone horn and over the past three days have learned with a few resources, being:
Within these three days, I was able to replicate the tone I wanted with "decent" embrochure. Though I have only been able to 100% the first five notes (from B β to F).
Musical Background: I am currently taking music theory and am practicing ear training. I had three years of one-on-one piano instruction between 4 - 6th grade. I came back to piano last summer by self-teaching (currently learning grade 3 ABRSM level pieces).
GOAL: To get to a high enough level to join my highschool's band II course (grade II) by my sophomore year (I have about 6 months).
REASON: I've heard of the terror that is dealt with in Band I, such as spending the first two month's without the instrument to learn basic theory (which I have hands pat-down).
Could I have advice on where I should go from here? I plan to ask my band director when I return to school to figure out something, but any contribution will be vastly appreciated. Lastly, is there any danger I may face with my method?
I don't know if this is the right subreddit for this.

I got this baritone horn from my grandfather's high school days (1920's) as a Christmas gift from my dad. It is tarnished, there is some (purely aesthetic) corrosion and dents, and it I'm a pianist, so I don't really know much about brass instruments.
I've played around with it for a few hours. I figured out how to play Reveille and it seems to work fine and be pretty playable. However, it probably hasn't been cleaned or maintained in 60 years. What are some resources or tips for care/restoration that you know of regarding deep cleaning, oiling, etc., or where should I be asking these questions?
Thanks for your help!

I was wondering if anyone needed a solo or a sample or something from someone who can do any of those? I'm a high schooler looking to put my talents to use.
i've been playing for about 6 months and i can't play more than 5 minutes or so without the muscles around my mouth just giving out and causing me not to even be able to play higher than Bb on the staff. i wondering if i should give bartione horn or euphonium a shot and see if my embouchure fairs better on that instrument. thoughts?
I'm an experienced Euphonium player and have played the euphonium for about 7 years now.
My question is, should I buy a Baritone Horn, which is basically the same playing experience or the Tenor Horn (Alto Horn for Americans) which is an instrument in Eb and with a smaller mouthpiece?
How large is the step from an Euphonium to a tenor horn and is it easy to learn? What will benefit me as a musician and player the most?
Thankful for answers!
I've been playing the marching baritone for in my high school marching band about a year now. I'm certainly better than when I first started (barely being able to hit and read certain notes) but now I can't seem to get a good tone when I practice. Every note just sounds airy and gross.
What can I do? Is this normal? Or should I have decent tone after a year of experience?
EDIT: Two years, actually. My first year I was in a beginning band class.
I'm marching a Yamaha baritone horn, and I am having trouble holding it. The issue is not so much that I don't have the arm strength, but that I can't figure out how to hold the horn in my hand. The only way that doesn't put strain on my left hand jams my knuckle under the bell; I also find myself hooking both thumbs under the tubing. Is there a better way to hold it?
