A list of puns related to "Roadkill"
The person who runs a supermarket is grocer.
I ain't ever seen a dead road before!
The ticket agent asked him if it was check-in or carrion.
Carrion!
The Prince of the vultures had always been a rebel, but he surprised everyone when he announced he was going to be a vegetarian. And nobody expected this to divide the vulture kingdom, with nearly half the vultures supporting the Prince's choice. Tempers flared, and civil war was brewing when the Prince burst into the King's chambers.
"Father," he cried, "I never meant to cause this. I'll do anything you say to reunite the kingdom. Please, Father, what should I eat?"
The King set a plate of roadkill in front of the Prince, and said "Carrion, my wayward son. There'll be peace when you are done."
I found myself using one of my favorite dad jokes recently... every time we pass some fresh roadkill while driving, my dad would say βman, thatβs a dangerous place to take a napβ. Made me giggle every time. My own kids typically give me a courtesy laugh now. They donβt appreciate the dad/mom joke nearly as much as I did... and still do.
There was concern that they might have died from Avian Flu. An avian pathologist examined the remains of the crows, and to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was definitely not avian flu. The cause of death was vehicular impacts.
However, during the detailed analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the birds beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that nearly 96% of the crows had been struck by trucks, while only 4% were car impacts.
The MTA then hired an Ornithological Behavourist to determine the reason for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills vs car kills. He very quickly concluded the cause: When crows eat roadkill, they have a look-out crow nearby to warn of impending danger. They discovered that while all the look-out crows could shout "Cah!", none could shout "Truck!"
We were driving and after seeing a couple roadkilled squirrels over the course of a mile or so the wife said, "oh that's so sad". I said, "well that's the thing about squirrels: their/they're nuts!"
At breakfast this morning: Dad: I was reading New Scientist, and they were looking into how crows can survive swooping in front of vehicles. Apparently they use a sentry, while another swoops in to collect the roadkill.
Me: Oh, that's pretty cool
Dad: Yeah, but they don't dodge trucks.
Me: Why's that?
Dad: well, when the sentry see the car it goes "Caaarrr, caaarrr!". But they can't say truck if they see one.
We were driving on an old country road and we passed by a possum that had been obliterated by a car. My grandfather studied the roadkill carnage carefully before telling me, "Well...that possum will never have the guts to try and cross the road again."
second generation dad joked >.<
