STL area for reference. 17M dating 16F, I turn 18 soon, she turns 17 a couple months after me. We do not have a sexual relationship, but do share an occasional kiss. Both of us are in foster system, go to same school, work, and are graduating early. We like each other and all, but I have a real concern for when I turn 18, she'll be 16 for a little under two months. Google having a hard time with results, as all that comes up is age of consent and such. Not sure if that's what I should go off of, since neither of us are sexual with each other. My question is, would it be illegal for our relationship to continue when I turn 18 and her still 16. Age difference is 1 year 2 months. I don't want to look bad in the eyes of the law or her parents. I just want to research this more and looking for help. What would be best for us?
Iβm in PA, and we have an consent age of 16 with close in age allowances. However, we also have a corruption of minor law with no close in age allowances that makes the defacto age of consent 18.
To me itβs ridiculous to have one law but another law that essentially invalidates it. Also the corruption of minor law is IMO dangerous, because it can be used to charge an 18 year old for having consensual sex with a 17 year oldβ¦which could be two people that are both seniors in high school.
>The amendment mandates minority institutions β both religious and linguistic β to follow a centralised recruitment policy of the state government which is applicable to all government and grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools.
>The original Act, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act 1972, had exempted minority institutions based on religion and language from provisions of Clause 26 of Section 17 of the Act lays down qualifications, methods of selection and conditions of appointment, promotion and termination of employment and rules for conduct and discipline of the headmaster and the teaching and non teaching staff of registered private secondary schools.
>As per the amendment, βsub-section (1) of section 34 and clause (b) of sub-section (1) and sub section (2), (3), (4) and (5) of Section 36 shall not apply to any educational institutions established and administered by a minority, whether based on religion or languageβ.
>Section 36 pertains to the βappointment and dismissal, removal and reduction in rank of certain persons-head master, teacher or a member of non teaching staff of a registered private secondary schoolβ while section 34 (1) stipulates β15 per cent of vacancies of teaching staff of a registered private secondary school shall be filled up by persons belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. Provided that where a person belonging to a scheduled caste or scheduled tribe is not available for filling any such vacancy the vacancy shall be filled up as otherwise provided in this Actβ.

In 2019 as well, they had moved Gujarat HC when govt had asked for application of RTE laws to minority run schools.
>The Gujarat High Court on Friday sought a response from the state education department after a minority school moved the court alleging that the state government is exerting pressure on it to grant admissions to poor children under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

International journals are publishing it as attack on rights of minorities in India and against secularism.

I am a born and raised Texan. And I for one am absolutely enraged and disgusted by the recent string of laws, ordinaces and other activities current becoming reality in my state.
Including but not limited to:
The city of Austins' Prop B, also known as "the camping ban" :
"A "yes" vote supports making it a criminal offense (Class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine) for anyone to sit, lie down, or camp in public areas and prohibiting solicitation of money or other things of value at specific hours and locations."
https://ballotpedia.org/Austin,_Texas,_Proposition_B,_Prohibition_on_Sitting,_Lying,and_Camping_and_Limiting_Solicitation_in_Public_Areas_Initiative(May_2021)
An obvious attempt to criminalize homelessness.
Texas's recently passed voter ID law which will make it harder for minorites to vote due to the nessicity to obtain state issued ID cards. Limiting early voting polling hours and a future ban on drive through voting. Among other things.

Texas's new abortion heartbeat law Which restricts abortions to the time prior to detecting a heartbeat which could be in as little as 6 weeks and does not include exceptions for rape or incest.

Obviously there are other laws coming out. Some good, some bad. (Mostly bad, Please add similar local laws in comments)
Not only have past attempts of implementing similar laws not solved the problems of homelessness, unwanted pregnancies and voter fraud. ( mostly because voter fraud did not happen in ANY significant numbers during the recent election)
But many of these laws will likely be struct down by higher level courts and will mostly amount to wasted Texas tax dollars. (albeit, there will probably be a few women forced to go to term while we hold out for the federal government to get around to protecting basic human rights.) Not to mention the numerous frivolous lawsuits currently being made by ken paxton.

Overall: Texas law makers are working hard to get things back to a pre-covid, pre-ice storm, pre-trump "normal" And they doing it through the old ways of attacking the poor, women, and minorities among other disenfranchised Texans.
Id like to think we are seeing the demise o

In the USA Today , Chicago which has been called the leader in false confessions is making it illegal for interviewers to lie to minors. In 50 states it is legal to lie to minors during interviews. The Brendan Dassey case was one of the many cases mentioned as bringing this to everyone's attention
In other news The courts have decided there is enough evidence against Netflix to warrant a possible liable conviction for Colborn , so they are moving forward with the lawsuit.
Will this help or hurt the case ?
My mother in-law has yet to talk to me directly (she was speaking to my wife through a video messaging app and my wife shared it with me).
So the sting crew pretends to be a teenaged girl, and messages with someone claiming to be, say, a thirty-year-old man. But, when the person shows up, it turns out that they're underaged as well. Has anyone committed a crime, and could the crew get in trouble for engaging in sexual messages with them?
Hello all, just wanted to get informed about any laws that apply to minors that involve knives (if that makes sense). Thanks! (I live in Wisconsin)
If an actor/actress is portraying a character under 18, then it should still be unlawful to have sex scenes and nude scenes on a public platform.
Itβs my hill to die on that shows/films that have explicit scenes with underage characters are contributing to the pedophile ideology and negatively impacting actual teenagers.
