Hey folks, here's my 2K Chaos soup list. I've playtested variations of this list a few times and it's been pretty successful against good tournament players but I'm looking for ways to make it better
Basically it works with the PBCs getting buffed by the Chaos Lord's 10" bubble advance as a wall protecting Syll'Esske and the Daemon Prince for a turn 2 or 3 delivery. Battlescribe is being glitchy and won't let me give a psychic power to the Daemon Prince, but he can heal D3 wounds to a PBC every turn
The Helverins camp back objectives and fire downfield, while the double Gatling Knight does what double Gatling Knights do. The Daemonettes deepstrike and just present a nuisance because by the time they deepstrike, all the opponents cheap infantry which shoot daemonettes very efficiently are generally dead
Anyone have any thoughts?

... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβm facing a competitive DG list this weekend with 3 plague crawlers, 2 helverins, 1 renegade knight, and 10 blightlord terminators as the core of its units.
Which brings me to my list... I have two lists Iβm considering running with the majority of the difference being whether I run a Crusader knight Or if I run a smash captain and Mortis contemptor dreadnought.
Below is the list assuming I use a Crusader (I need to shave 5 points). The other list is exactly the same minus crusader, add leviathan and smash captain.
So my question is which list do you think would do a better job at handing the relatively armor/wound heavy DG list?

Reading the Combat Doctrines description as seen here, it looks like you only get Combat Doctrines if every model in the ARMY has the ability. That means you'll be giving them up if you have any non-marine (barring the two listed exceptions) units in your army list. Are these worth giving up for the extra CP from a loyal 32 or knight detachment? Thoughts?

I have plenty of question about this list, my very first will be about the 2 sniper scouts, why this choice of weaponry ? Wouldn't it be better (synergy wise) to go for CCW scout with combat knives ? I'm missing a lot of intricacies and don't understand the sniper choice.

The below is my take on the classic Tsons + Chaos demons soup. With the new psychic awakening rules, I decided to rely more heavily on the Tsons. The goal is to use risen rubric stratagem on my rubrics to get them in the opponents face turn one. Ahriman will be there as well to buff and provide counter charge defense. I can rely on duplicitous tactician if I don't get turn one. Moving into turn 2, I will drop the terminators forcing the opponent to deal with another massive threat.
The bulk of my army ( the plaguebeareres) will slowly shamble up the field to secure objectives. At -1 to hit and miasma of pestilence for a total of -2 to hit, I expect them to be very difficult to remove. The demon princes will be behind them providing counter charge and offense magic.
Nurglings and cultists will be for securing far off objectives/ deep strike screening
Target priority will be my opponents anti infantry. I will cripple their ability to deal with hordes and essentially win by outlasting them to turn 5/6.
As you can tell, I cannot deal with t8 vehicles/ knights. I'm fine with that as I have no heavy vehicles either so they can waste their lascannons on my infantry if they'd like =)
I would love your thoughts on:
- Do I have enough bodies/ wounds on the board to win by 'outlasting' the opponent?
-Weaknesses that I am not aware of (i'm new to competitive warhammer)
-Other units that can do what I'm trying to do more efficiently
-If you like something about the list, let me know as well!!

... keep reading on reddit β‘I've been using this list for some practice games the last month or so and I've been doing ok. The list has been performing well even if I go second, feels like it has a lot going for it. All be it, dependant on some terrain but overall it's got a decent alpha and good potential for survivability going second.
The plan is to bring something along these lines to a tournament in early 2020.
I've faced Drukhari / Iron hands / Flyer Eldar / Necrons and mechanicus, the close matches where against the Eldar and IH. One loss, 4 wins. Lost against IH by 1 point in the end after going second.
Incursors while maybe not the "best" choice have actually done good work with the scout deploy and boobytrapping of objectives. IF part speaks for itself, non-los ignore cover shots that rain down until the end of time. The army doesn't have to move forward in the doctrines either.
On to the list at hand. People always chose gangbusters (for good reason) but after that they usually go into a think because there are no easy "kill this to get 4points" They end up trying to go for headhunter if they've got a decent shot at it.

Plan is simple - skyweavers go for vehicle targets, and serve as early game distraction. Solitaire will attempt to kill infantry characters as always. Supreme command detachment for psychic support, especially Doom for those sweet haywire rerolls. Coven battalion for objectives and strong melee in mid game. Forgot to make them Prophets of flesh!
I'm not sure who should be warlord, so I just picked the shadowseer for now.
It should also be noted, that this is not intended for tournament play, but competitive friendly games.

I know that the most competitive option available to me is probably a daemons battalion and a thousand sons supreme command, but that leaves me with quite a few pts to play with. I have a few options I am considering, but am unsure whats the best fit. Additionally, my store doesn't allow forgeworld, so suggestions not from FW are appreciated.

A CSM battalion This option fits pretty nicely with the heavy screening in my list and also the jump lord packs a fair amount of punch. My problem with this detachment is that I am pretty sure 250 pts of this does pretty much nothing as the apostle is lackluster and cultists don't do much that isn't accomplished by my plaguebearers. The CP is quite nice though.

More Daemons Not sure what to go with here, but likely either a Khorne splash or Tzeentch. I don't think I have the CP for both since I think I would want to drop them in so Iβd only choose one. Either a KDP w/ bloodletters or a Changecaster w/ pinks and another DP in the 1K sons section. The Bloodletters worry me since there isn't a good way for my list to clear chaff, but the pinks worry me as while they are great small arms fire they wont do anything to bigger targets

Ive always wanted to run Space marines alongside admech, the Steel Confessors that the Admech cooked up to be their own private space marine chapter (the inquisition did NOT like that one bit lol). Like maybe getting/subbing rules for Cawls Alpha Primus mega marine that uses inquisitor rules, or maybe running a bunch of Eversor assassins to act as Arco Flagellants because remember thats not just an Ecclesiarchy thing folks!

Let's say I'm running a 1.5k list with a super heavy detachment of imperial knights, one of which is my warlord, and I also have a patrol detachment of deathwatch and a patrol detachment of astra militarum. My understanding currently is that my relic has to come from my warlords faction, and therefore I can't, say, use the deathwatch extra relics stratagem because you can't have an extra if you don't have one to start with. Is this right, or would it be possible for me to, say, give Endless Fury to my knight warden and Kurovs Aquila to my AM company commander, provided I spent 1cp to do so?

Hi ! I am trying to make an Ork list to vanquish my craftworlds player friend. I almost beat him the last time but I was foot slogging and couldn't grab the objectives in his territory (and my Weirdboy periled himself for 3 MW on T1 so, no jump...) My idea was to use the best in each klan to have an army capable of grabbing objectives with the kommandos while dealing massive shooting damage. Of course, the Big Mek has a souped-up Shokka ! Thank you for your opinion !

Looking for some insight/opinions on my list for a Nova event. Played a local nova style event the past weekend as practice and won 2 games and drew the third with a similar list and I am doing one last minor change to it.
Had a loyal 32 before and 1 mortar squad, but I am dropping that for an admech cp farm/screening detachment.
Going with Stygies 8 but sorely tempted to take Graia also. Reasoning is that the skitarri can have a 3+ save with shroudpsalm and the -1 should keep them alive better than 10 guardsmen, using take cover, and praying.
My point allocation allows for 4 assassins and all 3 veteran squads to start in deepstrike. Most of the time I only put two of them in, to save the cp for teleportarium and if I feel like my screen might get charged turn 1 I want them to dissuade said charge. The blackshield and the VV allow me to HI put all my CC attacks in and then fall back and shoot when it gets to my turn, the physical intervention of the unit also prevents my screen from getting wrapped and trapped, when I pulled the DW back there will be space for my troops that were in combat to fall back also.
The other reason for changing to the skitarri over the guardsmen is that I needed 10 points for my 2nd captains stormshield, and id have 23 points that I would have hard time using, would have had to just throw them onto random power weapons just to use them.
Normally I start both the captains on the board, I am of the opinion that bringing them in turn 2, and then hoping to make a 9" charge is a pipe dream and they would either just get shot or not even do anything until turn 3. So I have been deploying them with my troops and getting them into something on turn 2 usually.
The rapier carriers have been performing quite well, the Watch Master and Tome shenanigans also increase their value, some may have seen me ranting about it before.
In Nova games I actually really enjoy endgame scoring and not having to worry about hold more/kill more every turn. I get to focus more on fighting and getting my secondaries and then just on objectives on what looks like the last turn.
Tourney I went too, I tied against drukari, 3/3 objectives each, he got all 12 secondaries, i got 11, but i killed 1500+ and he only killed 1000+. His army was really tough to pick secondaries against, so my 3 pointer was old school. His troops were in venoms so I couldn't reliably get rank and file, he had 3 talos and 3 ravagers, but I coul

I'm debating between bringing imperial soup or GSC/Nids to events. The GSC list has fared pretty well (not tested in it's current iteration [which will be a subsequent post]), but god help me I love the Grey Knights. The list below likely doesn't have enough objective holders and screens, but I think it gives me some flexibility (indirect fire, objective holders, and chaff cleanup with the terminators' SB who will also use astral aim).

Demon Engine Threat Saturation: Defilers are rubbish unless they can move and shoot without penalty and need the +1 to hit. With that in place they are a steal. Decimator is just good. The enemy have to choose what to kill and kill it outright or its getting healed up, and its gonna act at full wounds, advance and charge. -2 to hit from miasama and Dark apostle will probably go on the disco warlord who is dishes out out all the buffs (Maybe prepared position is nessesary) . The FNP from the Night lords sorcerer can go go on the decimator or other disco lord (if he isn't deep striking with the night lords....).

These are mostly here to do Vox scream, and to tie up a Gun line on turn 2 (think tau). The spawn are cheap bodies to maybe help protect the backline.

Pretty obvious here, Dakka to help down flyer spam using smites to get the initial wounds on the flyers, and helical targeting array for +1 to hit fly. This is also the non-los shooting, and primaris marine mulching.
Now that we have a better sense of what the game looks like post CA, what are peoples thoughts on a list like this? It seems to be able to cover most of everything. The only thing I don't like is I don't have a CC unit, which I've always found super helpful to prevent ppl from freely wrapping & trapping within my lines

2,000 exactly. I had a previous variant with 3x5 rangers instead of the storm guardians, and then the 5x skyweavers have zephyrglaives. However, I think the extra screening from the storm guardians will be super useful against orks and the like, and skyweaver CC is pretty underwhelming.
As for context: I almost always play standard rulebook eternal war & maelstrom, but post CA also play the CA2018 missions. Goal is to create a strong list using all 3 eldar factions, and have something that can take on any opponent. Currently its just basement-hammer w a couple of other guys, but looking to check out gaming stores and local tournaments in the near future. As for the "meta" of my basement: There's imperial soup variants from admech/IG/BA/IK, and then GK/IG/Sisters, and pure alaitoc (lots of reapers and hemlocks mainly), orks (evil suns + bad moons loota star), tau (triple riptide + broadside tau sept), and some deathguard in the works. Thoughts?

I am looking to run a Space Wolves/ White Scars soup army, but have a question regarding taking multiple relics. Both chapters will be in battle-forged detachments.
I have a White Scars warlord using the Master-Crafted Weapon Relic
I take another detachment of Spacewolves with 2 HQs (Wolf Lord & Wolf Guard Battle Leader) and use the following Space Wolves Stratagem

Hey all. So, a couple of weeks back, I posted a 1000pts Raptors List. Overall, the feedback that I got was that what I would be really great for dealing with hordes, but kind of crap when facing off against any heavier stuff. So I thought to myself "hey, why not just add more stuff?"; I then added another 1000pts of stuff to balance out my horde munching capabilities with some anti-armor. My goal is to make a fun, somewhat competitive list that will be reasonable good unless I'm facing off against a mega-tryhard list, which I don't plan on doing. Okay, here's my rationale for what I did here. The Raptors are around for objective holding and horde mulching. Their -1 to hit makes Intercessors pretty solid objective cappers. The Strike from the Shadows Stratagem is great for getting my Aggressors up the board to fire on the chaff, and Lais can use his infiltrating bamboozlery to dump himself, the Plasma vets, and the Lieutenant wherever I need to take out heavier infantry or light vehicles, or to g
