One of the most fun things, for me, at least, is to try to use Gods in different methods than they are designed for. Particular if the outcome is practical too...

For a while now I have been thinking on how Hel could work in the duo lane. I am not there yet, but I think Ive come a step closer. In the live client I messed around with a build like Shoes of Focus into 2nd tier Tahuti, then Polynomicon, followed by Demonic Grip, Hastened Fatalis, Spear of the Magus and then Tahuti in the 2nd slot finished.

With this build and a playstyle that revolves around a continious flow of using abilities followed directly with a Polynomicon procced auto aimed at reducing as much protections as possible. I managed to rinse the Gold Fury in practice mode within seconds and nearly the same with Fire Giant. Though I kept missing autos with the latter.

I then tried it in Arena for a few matches where I just vaporized Ra, Fenrir, Ymir, Janus and significantly chunked Tyr. Hels dark debuff with polynomicon and fatalis lets you catch up to a prey so redicilous fast and juke whatever they toss at you, while taking away nearly any protections they have. Half their lives are gone before they can react. And not just single targets, with the aoe, you can chunk multiple enemies at once.

The only downside is that your heals are neglectable, due to being in darkstance most of the time and mostly build offensively. So I think that that could make it ideal if the enemy invests early in a lot of antihealing.

Granted, most of the opposing players may not have known what the hel (pun intended of course) was going on. I pretty much got the final damage numbers of when I play adcs, had consistend top damage and most kills in all games, but one.

So yeah... was this a known approach with Hel or have I overlooked something? Yes, I know this build makes Hel squishier, but she will have near assassin like mobility and damage. Ideally I would love to keep practicing this side of Hel for funsies. Probably not in "meta Conquest" games, though.

TL;DR I build Hel sort of as a magical adc, rinsed objectives like crazy in practice modes and did remarkably in pvp scenarios thus far. Any thoughts on something I may have overlooked? Or suggestions?

This title sucks but I am out of Hel puns.

Story: Hel was bubbled in an anomaly but managed to get out. He panic-warped to a station, where he was bubbled and aggressed by sabres. Lokis burnt 1j from Thera, and the first 8 or so--2 logi lokis--jumped in to clear the small support fleet killing the sabres. I was primaried at this point by the Hel and Thanatos for about 2 minutes, and praise be to the fucking logi lokis.

Grid was something like Hel, Thanatos, Gila, and Svipul, with a Niddy undocking soon enough. We killed tackle and starting shooting the Hel as the rest of the lokis, two hics, a bump machariel, and a falcon turned up.

We had grid control, and we started bumping the Hel away from the station in case they had a FAX undock. When he was 80km off, we moved into neut range, and the dual small neuts of the lokis eventually turned off his invulns (lol). Armageddon and falcon undocked to try to mess with the hics, but we traded points when hics needed reps, bubbled when the hics were jammed, and killed the support eventually.

Hel died, and the thanatos was still aggressed. The machariel bumped the thanatos off station and he melted. Machariel then bumped off the niddy, who likewise died quickly. Someone also managed to leave their drones on aggressive, killing one squadron of tech 2 fighters that we meant to loot. RIP sabre reimbursement fund.

Every single person in the fleet undocked a hauler alt, we looted field, and we went home. GF.

Okay. So, this is probably the dumbest contradiction ever pointed out ever, but I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway since I feel like bragging about how I noticed it.

In episode 0040, we see Thor attempting to save a village from a fire giant named Surtur, being distracted by Durkon's prayer, and allowing Surtur to eat the villagers. Hilarious piece of black comedy. Now here's the problem.

In strip 1012, we learn from the High Priest of Surtur that Surtur is a demigod and the lord of Fire Giants. Oh cool, so Thor was fighting against a demigod in strip 0040. Oh wait...

According to 0954, Gods have a contract, created in fear of creating another Snarl that they couldn't intercede directly on the world unless they allow all the other gods to do so as well.

For one, this means that the Gods shouldn't be fighting, otherwise the creation of another Snarl would happen, and the fact that Thor and Surtur were about to fight means that the fight could potentially have created another God-killing monster.

According to 1081 and 1082, Lord Thrym of Frost Giants, another demigod, is unable to do anything to stop the order besides commanding his followers. Since Thrym and Surtur are bothe demigods, they should both be bound by the contract, which means that Surtur clearly broke the Domain Agreement by interfering on the mortal realm and Thor as well for interfering on account of the villagers.

So, uh... this leads to a lot of contradictions. High Priest of Hel states that Hel was waiting for Thor to break the Domain Agreement so she could retaliate with bubonic plague and gain dwarf souls. Since Thor already broke the agreement, why the hell (Yay Hel puns) hasn't she done so yet?

And if we decide that a Godsmoot was held to grant Thor permission to stop Surtur since he broke the contradiction first, why the hell is Surtur still allowed to vote in the Godsmoot?

And even if a Godsmoot was held, I doubt the overly paranoid Gods would ever agree to allow Thor to fight Surtur on behalf of a single human village. Just the threat of the final world breaking made them consider destroying the world, why on earth would they risk destroying it for a single human village? For this matter, I think that Thor has clearly broken the Domain Agreement, and Hel is more than welcome to send her Death Giants and dog to destroy the Mechane.

READ HERE FIRST Loki's current abilities aren't lore accurate. So I decided to make Loki's kit based on his lore (Smite wasn't working for me so i had the time). Each ability will have some lore info to get you to understand a bit. THIS IS JUST FOR FUN and not meant for an actual rekit idea.

Passive: Son of Chaos!

Loki, as the son of 2 giants, is naturally hated by everyone including his teammates. Loki's ally's will be able to cc and damage Loki but cannot slay him because of Odin's protection. Every time Loki is cc'd or damaged by his teammates, he gains 1 stack of hatred toward the gods. Each stack will increase Loki's intentions to kill all the gods, raising his power throughout time. These stacks will not go dissipate. Loki is also unable to use auto attacks and instead gets a base of 20% additional movement speed because of his cowardliness.

(In lore, the Aesir (gods) and the Jotunns (giants) are destined to fight each other (Ragnarok), Loki is the son of the Jotunns, and once Odin has introduced Loki to the gods, everyone naturally treated him with Hel (puns)...all except for Baldr of course -.-)

Loki shoots out a poisoned shackle in front of him dealing damage and applies poison. If a god is hit, the shackles will root and cripple the target.

(The gods threw out Loki for insulting the gods, and chained him with the entrails of Loki's son, Narfi (lovely..). With a serpent above Loki's head (placed by Skadi), every drop of poison gave Loki agony pain, which caused earthquakes. Oh and Sigyn (Loki's Wife) was there who had a bowl to catch the poison, but it eventually got full....and yeah...)

Well, long story short, a crow later to be discovered as Thiassi (frost giant and father of Kadlr--err Skadi) who told Loki to steal the apples from Idunn or he will beat the fuck out of Loki (which he kinda did at first in order to draw this "deal.") Giants....am i right? oh wait...

“Gerard, my friend, surely we have been over this before?” Natori replied pleasantly, indulging the Frenchman’s good humor. “There is a strict policy against the use of the fabricators and replicators to duplicate controlled substances.”

“You would lump one of my country’s finest vintages in with cheap cigarettes and stimulants? It is art! What of that coffee you drink every morning, Mr. Kaczynski?” the older researcher argued adamantly, his moustache animated in his reply. Natori let out a hearty chuckle and shook his head as Io appeared on one of the monitors in the lab.

‘He’s got a point, Admiral. Bon matin, Gerard. I’m just checking up on our latest tissue cultures,’ she told him. The Admiral sat straight in his chair, quickly looking back and forth between his fellow passenger and the screen. Upon closer inspection, he found that Io had placed her physical body into something of a sleep mode while she frolicked about the Event Horizon’s labs. He watched with subtle fascination as her ‘face’ relaxed in a position of rest and her chest rose and fell steadily.

“I see,” he murmured before returning to his conversation with Dr. Dupuis. “Well Gerard, if Io is on your side then perhaps there is some room for debate on the matter, but not right now. We are on our way to the surface at the moment to meet with the leaders of the Cauthan village, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the subject of conversation will be the proposed relocation of this small tribe to Earth. I need to understand the prospects for their nutrition and our ability to meet those needs.”

Plus all of my income sources. It is always about half the size of my income and I can't find any reason for it to do like that since I don't have any troops fielded, I triple check and the mercenary list, and that isn't why I lose money. And there's no way in hel pun intended that honorary titles can cost that much.

What is weirder is that when I raise my troops for various purposes my expenses does NOT rise. Hence my belief it has something with troops. So is the reason behind my expenses some special rule to empire reformed pagan republics? Or something else I've missed?

And on the topic, I would mind a general link to somewhere that explain money in debt. Fx; the math behind the income number for each income source and my final income is something I've been wondering about. Or a link to the full math behind trade value and trade income.

And yes I checked the wiki and it doesn't help.

I was just reading about Ragnarok, and I saw Hel mentioned. This is Loki's daughter who rules the land of the dead.

It just seemed like a logical jump that this would have been the word chosen to translate from Latin into English.

“We will have to see just how far a bit of lettuce can get us in various diplomatic proceedings when we return to Earth,” Natori chuckled. “I assume there have been no incidents on that front?”

“No sir, those plants grow quickly and he never takes much,” Anita reported. “The effect on the ship’s production is negligible.”

“And the Cauthan foodstuffs?” the Admiral moved on quickly, arriving at what Anita figured to be the thrust of the matter and reason for his visit.

You’re ‘free’ to stay planetside if you want,” the pilot responded in good humor. “Given that you’re already strapping in I’ll take that as a no thank you. Don't worry this is not a rant post, just a serious question.

I feel like every special weapon has a use for different scenarios : Combat shotgun is amazing against close small strikers, HEL riffle and Sniper are very good against big chargers, scouts,... ; the Machinegun is excellent at killing and keeping at distance large crowds of ennemies,....

But i don't get the HEL gun, what does this weapon can bring that other special weapons can't ? It seems good against small chargers but there is a delay before each shot, it seems to be a just good against big chargers (while there is better options).

To the fellow players who use HEL Gun, what make you choose this weapon over the others special weapons ?

I'm on my second Hel 2 after the first burned out, and I'm still having issues like I did with the first. Having audio drop for a split second while using USB and crackling while plugged into optical. Has anyone figured out a way to fix this? All my drivers are up to date and my computer is less than a year old. I've tried other cables with no success and I'm at a loss. I'm waiting on a reply from support, but I'm honestly thinking I'm better off asking for a refund.

Same issue, something that I noticed is that if I tap on the chassis that tapping gets picked up in the recording.

Same exact testing conditions as previous units. No gain on the unit. Windows input volume at 100%. No input device plugged in.

Is anyone else also seeing this?

In addition to being one of the more comfortable places in the village to take a load off on account of the woven pillows and blankets, it was also one of the only temples that did not see evening foot traffic outside of rare exceptions. On that night in particular, secrecy was the topic of the hour. Thantis smiled kindly at his mate.

“It was not my secret to tell, my dear. And while we have already heard from both our High Priest and Huntress regarding their thoughts on the matter, I feel it is appropriate to add further context. This proposal, at least when it was made to us officially, came from Winters’ sister. I have spent a decent amount of time with both her and this human leader with dark skin, and I believe her to be more trustworthy on the whole. Though I am perhaps being unfair to those in positions of power,” the death priest looked apologetically at Antoth from across the crackling fire. “But I believe intent is important.”

Thantis’ final sentence put a lid on any scathing retort Ratha might have had. Instead the huntress drew her knife and picked at the underside of her claws. “He has a point there. Anyone else?”

Ratha tilted her head in annoyance but said nothing as her mate nodded approvingly and tossed another log onto the fire. Well dried after more than a season of warm, indoor weather, the wood caught and snapped almost immediately, throwing sparks towards the ceiling. “That is a point to consider, Thantis. And by now I’m sure we all know that Winters and his spirit can hopefully be considered allies, if not friends. However the admiral, Natori, outranks them within their hierarchy of warriors.”

Looking at picking up the Hel 2… I have seen a few issues with build quality on this subreddit.

Should I wait a couple of months and see if the iron out the issues?
