I apologize if this is a frequent type of post, or some other sort of reddit annoyance. I would just like to say thank you in hopes that one of the players I met today see this.
Today, me and my cousin were messin about, and we noticed two legendary raids down the street. Me and him were amazed, but at the same time, disappointed in the fact that it was only us, and in an area that was unlikely (so we thought) to have PoGo traffic.
Within 20 minutes, a group of 16, if not more, people showed up. Everyone nice, fist bumps and high fives all around. People I had never even seen smiling and waving me over to the gym, as if to say, “welcome mate, glad to have you!”
It was my first time playing in a little under a year. I had quit because of a lack of community and disillusionment in my chances of getting a legendary. This made me happy beyond belief, to see so many welcoming people and a warm community that encouraged players-even if they’re absolute trash, like me. I got to see my cousin, a young kid with emotional problems, smiling and laughing, talking away and happy to be a part of things. Thank you for making my day. I may not have gotten the Kyogre, but I got to experience a community unlike any other I had seen in a game. Thank you so much.
Edit: Got some of my memories mixed up as to when I stopped playing, corrected time since I had stopped playing.
