I recently bought allure homme sport in sephora thinking that it was the one with the silver bottle. But upon opening it, i saw it was a clear bottle instead. I am confused however because on the bottle it says allure homme sport cologne and then on the bottom of the bottle it says "eau de toilette". So which one is it?

I have gotten on a old eau de cologne kick lately and have purchased 4711, Florida water, and Agua de colonia concentrada. I’m wondering if there are any other old fragrances like these that are around the under $20 range?

My partner is one of the biggest original Polo Green fans in the world and when we saw that Ralph Lauren was bringing a new take on it (or, at least they're using the green bottle at the very least) he got pretty excited. The note breakdown couldn't be further from the original but I'm curious if anyone has had a chance to smell it yet to see if it shares any similarities at all.

The Ulta page now has it in stock but none of my local stores carry it yet. Just curious if anyone has seen it in the wild or has ordered it for themselves and can comment on it. Thanks!

I blind bought this a couple of days ago online.

From the notes it looks like it’s Polo Green with a BDC treatment.

I’m a big fan of Green, so hopefully some of the retro, masculine elements are too neutered.

Was wondering if anyone has tried it yet. Sounds like it either could be great, or an unnecessary rendition of a classic that’s already amazing.

Was only available on Ulta and Dillard’s websites, which was a little odd. Maybe it will be rolled out on a larger scale in the near future.

Edit: I got my bottle today. First impression is that I don’t like it. Doesn’t smell like Polo Green at all to me. All the retro, earthy elements that make the original great are gone.

Reminds me of Mont Blanc Legend, not Explorer like others have posted. My gf loves Legend, so she will be pleased. I like retro fragrances, so I will probably be using regular Green tomorrow.

One thing that gets mentioned frequently on this sub is that citrus fragrances don’t last long and then a whole brand gets a bad name because apparently it doesn’t project much and for some people fancy and pricy fragrances = incredible projection and being able to smell it from 14th St & 8th Ave when you’re in fact in Central Park.

Jean Marie Farina travelled to Cologne in the 1700s and thus made Eau de Cologne because the other fragrances in the era were too dense and heavy.

Brands like Atelier Cologne and citrus heavy lines that fade away quickly were never meant to be Dior Sauvages or BR540s. That’s not why they exist.

These fragrances are light, inoffensive scents with moderate projection and longevity that are incredibly easy to wear and won’t let the whole subway train (which is hardly used these days anyways lol) smell like you.

I don't know a lot about scents but I want something that's not too manly but not at all feminine. So I thought I'd ask the gays. Like when you fancy a guy and he smells just yum I wanna smell like that. So what do you recommend lol

This Niche fragrance has been well received since it's launch in 2017. A woody citrus fragrance which draws comparisons to Aventus (mostly due to the pineapple opening) has incredible longevity in sillage resulting in me receiving a couple complements since I started wearing it a month ago. Despite the comparisons to Aventus this one definitely holds it own enough for me to have both in my collection.

This fragrance is the epitome of fresh. When it's 35+ degrees outside or I want to have something fresh on before I go to the gym this one for me is a no brainer. The note breakdown consists of bergamot, grapefruit blossom and musk.

Eau de Mandarine Ambree by Hermes - 40ml Available

This fragrance is a photorealistic fresh mandarin scent backed by grapefruit blossom and amber. I really enjoy putting this one on when I get home from work. Gets much better projection in 30+ degree days.

Cos I’ve always been completely skint I’ve never really had the excess cash for a nice cologne. Now I finally have some money saved, I’m looking to buy one, preferably something a little different/unusual.

I've had this since high school, when its description in a catalogue piqued my interest--I was going through a vintage phase, and it wouldn't take much out of my babysitting savings to buy a bottle.

At first, I was kind of...taken aback by how much this smells like Glow by JLo, which I vividly recalled sniffing, around 2002/2003 on my babysitter's white wicker vanity, along with B&BW body sprays.

I like it. It's fresh, floral, and feminine and gains all its sweetness from white florals. It's a touch powdery, but not baby powder, more of a subtle, sweet powder that feels a little dry and fresh. It opens like a sweet floral soap, then the powdery, slightly spicy base is present. This stays soapy with a touch of white floral sweetness, very close to the skin, for about 8 hours, which was more than I'd expected considering it's an eau de cologne. Simple and sweet, I think it would be best in the warmer months but can be worn year round.
