Almost posted this in r/namenerds but then decided I might get a more honest reply here.
Not currently expecting, but hubs and I love kicking around name ideas and Vesper has been growing on me. It’s from the Latin for “evening star,” and just from a quick Google search there doesn’t seem to be a lot of history on it other than the Bond girl from 2006’s Casino Royale.
Does this name scream I AM A JAMES BOND FAN (which hubs is)! Or is it usable? It’s more middle name material imo…our naming style is generally more classic and Vesper as a first would be too “out there” for my taste.
ETA: I don’t have time to reply to all of these, but thanks for all the responses! I must live under a rock because I have never heard of Vespa scooters and my only other association was with the evening prayer services which some of you mentioned.
As I mentioned in the OP, I am not expecting, so hopefully that calms the nerves of those of you absolutely mortified that anyone would name their child this. I think I can safely move this one to the list of “if-we-ever-get-a-fish” names! Meanwhile, I will try my darndest to convince my brother and SIL not to name their potential future child Fletcher Haven Lastname. 😶

I’ve been goofin’ around with vesper totem in 2s, but biggest crit i’ve seen is 30k with skyfury up. How do people actually 1 shot with it? Is just better gear? At higher ratings people have better gear too, so less dmg taken though? I have full challenger 1 gear.. Most of the time i it doesn’t do much as it doesn’t crit. I have full crit gear, 30% crit - more most of the time as i’m using kleia soulbind with the crit buffs.
Maybe even make the rifting animation a tiny bit faster with it so it can be used more offensively
Sanguine Alchemy is such a gorgeous chestpiece but its perk its lowkey useless. You become a sitting duck (bad for PVP) and need to get kills (not optimal for high end PVE), to extend the rift duration. I could just go for Boots of the Assembler extend the healing rift duration without to need to kill anything, making it viable in a GM, on top of getting extra benefits. Or even The Stag, you get rift energy when your critically wounded, no kill activation needed.
Now, Vesper of Radius is a meme, I dont even need to explain it, afaik theres even a CWL mod with a similar effect. Really underwhelming, not even useful for a fun build.
I hope next TWAB come with a new round of exotics armor pieces reworks and adresses these 2.
Was the bomb in Vespers tomb so weak on purpose? He barely got injured even though he was standing right next to the explosion.
I'm rewatching NTTD and I'm not sure it's heavily implied but it feels slightly implied that Madeleine is taking her daughter to Matira (Vespers burial town). I have a slight feeling that maybe Madeleine had Bond's grave placed by Vespers and it made me tear up a bit.
Anyone else read it this way?

It’s stored in the cloth bag (provided) when not in use (my home is non-smoking) and is practically brand new.
