Ello! Am staying in tynemouth for a couple of weeks, wanted to know how to get from Newcastle to tynemouth via public transport, if anyone has any time tables or anything thatβd be appreciated as well. :)
(Also, how much would cabs cost?)
UPDATE: My friend got in touch with the police (very proud, must've sucked) and they've told her the same thing's happened to two other girls in the area in the last few days. PLEASE STAY SAFE FOLKS.
Posting this as a warning to others that this guy is about and he's dodgy as fuck. My two female friends were sat on a bench next to a field near a carpark which gave them a great view of South Shields over the water, when a man in a white van pulled up and watched them for a while before getting out and approaching them and started talking to them.
The guy only identified himself as Ben and provided no further information, eventually my friends just stop talking to him hoping he'll go away, which he does but only after 5 incredibly awkward minutes. He then proceeded to go back to his van and sit for a while with the lights off before getting out and approaching them again with an L shaped object in his hand, at which point they leg it and he chases them for a significant amount of time.
They run towards North Shields, thought they'd lost him once but he was still following them after they'd nearly trapped themselves in a field and were forced down a steep embankment but eventually managed to get into a well lit area and lost him.
I've convinced them to report it to the police, which unfortunately they did not do at the time as they were just wanting to get out of the situation as fast as possible and making a phone call would have slowed them down. But please for the love of god be careful out there, if you're in the area please warn your female friends to be vary wary of white vans pulling up to an area they are alone in. Stay safe folks.
Hi all, title says it all really, im tryna figure out a nice-ish cycle route from the east end to tynemouth as most of what google recommends seems to be pedalling through industrial estates... which i like but my biking buddy would rather a chill less road-y route boo

Found last night, somewhat buried by the sand. We attempted to hand it into the boat club but they wouldn't accept it. The phone is charging fine but won't turn on. We will hand it into the police station if no one claims it. If you think the phone belongs to you, please PM me.
So my housemates and I were quite keen to get out today and go spend some time at Tynemouth at either the North or South shields. I was just wondering what the toilet situation is like there currently? I checked the council website and it seems there are public toilets, but there was a message saying that they currently close at 4pm, do you guys know if there is anything around there that is accessible for longer? I suppose the other option would be to go for a dip into the sea, as cold as it may be, but we would prefer to find another option!
