The soymilk in stores here taste like gelatin mixed with water and white food coloring. Is there anywhere I can buy proper homemade soymilk or soymilk packaged by an asian company?
Okay. This is a little strange. I love chocolate soymilk so much. Me and my family have drank it religiously for years, and these past few months there has been NOTHING on the shelves at any krogerβs or publix etc. Does anyone know what happened? I canβt find anything about it at all!
So I just moved to the US from the UK and I have to know - why does almost every single brand of soymilk have so much crap added to it?!
In the UK I could go to a Tesco, Sainsbury's, or even an Aldi and get 1L of good, plain soymilk without any sugar or ridiculous flavourings for the grand total of about 89p.
Here in the US I have to push past hundreds of sweetened cartons to find the single unsweetened variety, only to discover that it has some godawful "natural flavouring" added which makes it taste disgusting! Even soymilk marked "plain" still has sugar added!
After religiously reading ingredients lists the only brand I have discovered that actually delivers PLAIN SOYMILK is Westsoy, but that's about $4 a carton and I can only find it at Wholefoods.
Don't tell me I have to switch to almond milk, it just isn't as good in tea. Also, I don't want to go to the Bad Place because of the water usage!
