Consideration of Shaitan’s depiction in the Islamic texts expose a variety of fundamental theological problems in Islam. Many elements of Shaitan’s story are taken from the previous Scriptures. However, it is the various modifications and additions found in the Islamic texts that introduce numerous errors and mistakes. What follows is a mere sample of these.

Problem 1. Shaitan (the JINN) was punished for not bowing to Adam. However, Allah only commanded the ANGELS to bow.

And We created you, then fashioned you, then told the angels: Fall ye prostrate before Adam! And they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, who was not of those who make prostration. (Qur’an 7:11)

This contradiction is a well known one, as is the da’if defence by Ibn Kathir and others, that Iblis should be numbered among the angels because he wanted to imitate their deeds. However, this defence makes little sense, for these details even conclude a story about Allah/Adam CORRECTLY NAMING things (ie distinguishing between objects). Yet here, Allah totally fails to properly distinguish between jinns and angels, two creatures of completely distinct natures (fire vs light). Moreover, Islamic theology conventionally teaches that the angels have NO free will. As Shaitan does possess free will, he is a creature of a totally different order to the angels, so why should they be counted together? It’s not even ‘apples and oranges’, it’s like someone saying, “I have three apples” to describe having two apples and one rubber chicken.

Problem 2. In Surah Al-A’raf, Shaitan is immediately exiled from paradise after refusing to prostrate to Adam. Therefore, how was he present in paradise later on to tempt Adam and Eve?

He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? (Iblis) said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud. He said: Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! Lo! thou art of those degraded. (Qur’an 7:12-13).

I'm quite a well mannered person ...most of the time! After hanging out with my friends, my mother advices me to humble myself, she mentions it as something of the likes of khafirs. I've been searching for a while on something I read years ago. I cannot remember if it was Quran or Hadith or even something else. That the devil joins the larger groups. Whether to fester lies, sow discord, or simply to stray more people. Does anyone know what Hadith or Ayah this could be found in? Or even a Tafsir of one?

The argument is how mob mentality was already viewed by learned people as a source of evil etc. ((My choice of words is probably off)). My main point is the devil goes with a majority

Hi was wondering has anyone had any personal experience with a Djinn being a guide? I know very little about them. It’s been indicated one hangs around me and is a protector/guide. Just curious about any experiences or thoughts.

Unsure if this was asked here before, but I’m curious of the interaction between Lich power Death of Elements and Shaitan Style (and by extension Shaitan Skin and Shaitan Earthblast ) and if it will allow the style to properly function and activate(ie activate bonus to damage rolls equal to wisdom bonus and the bonus damage while missing) while no longer being acid?
