...but the third has groan in significance.
I'm guessing we... can still prick our favourites!!
I've been in this industry for longer than I care to admit and most of it as a consultant. So, I am definitely not new to lowballing on pay (hourly or salary) being somewhat par for the course. However, what I have been seeing in the last 6 months or so is "extreme lowballing" - like getting offered as low as 50% less than previous salaries/rates and getting rejected if you ask for more.
Case in point - cloud architect with all kinds of certs, devops, etc. being offered $50 hour - take it or leave it. IT Enterprise Architect salary - $140K and good luck if you think you can get them to move on it.
Sr. Cloud Engineer - $45/hr (again, CI/CD, linux, multi-cloud, certs are almost mandatory).
What's your experience and is this normal now?
At this rate (pun intended) it seems the companies are trying to find most desperate hires.
I have been visiting Reddit for a year now. It was like a safe haven during very difficult times of my life. It was a place where all the crazy things from the internet came together so that I could turn my thoughts off for a while and browse through all the weird stuff the world has to offer. And it made me smile every single day. Sometimes even cry.
Now that I have made an account to be just another one of those many Redditors, I want to make my first post a thankyou. So thanks to all you posters (especially when it was high quality content), thanks to all you voters (especially when it was a good job), thanks to all you commenters (especially when the username checked out). Thanks for all the questions and answers (regardless whether it was a stupid one or it was explained to quasi five year olds). Thanks for the stunning art (painted or photographed or sculpted or whatever). Thanks for all the word porn (if it was a top rated pun I probably reddit). Thanks for all the cuteness (animals or kids being aww or derps). Thanks for all the effort (nextlevel content or life tips). Thanks for all the mildly interesting or infuriating oddities (some even as fuck). Thanks for all the poems (and fresh Schnoodles). Thanks for all the comics (and spontaneous Grafos). Thanks for all the memes (even the worst). Thanks for all the wholesomeness. Thank you, community of Reddit, for fighting loneliness and making my day, every day.
"The Habitsville Planetarium WILL change your life"
At least, thatβs what the latest Yelp review says. Thereβs a 5-star rating (pun not intended, just unavoidable), but not a single word in the space for a description. It is, surprisingly, the only available review for the facility.
Iβm not looking into the Planetarium because Iβm bored, or want to know more about space, or because I'm looking for a clichΓ© first date spot.
My sudden interest in with my townβs Planetarium is rooted in a phenomenon that Iβve been tracking for the past three months or so: Ever since the Habitsville Planetariumβs Grand Reopening six months ago, the population of Habitsville has decreased by one, every month, every second Friday at 7pm.
I know, it may not seem like a lot. 1 person dead or gone a month could be considered low for a big city. But Habitsville is a tiny town, where everyoneβs known everyone since they were born, and no one ever leaves. Since Iβm not on a big story at the moment, I think this newfound trend requires my attention.
The Planetarium, up until six months ago, had been closed to the public for as long as Iβve been alive. But after recently acquiring some new fundingβanonymous funding, as far as I can tellβthey are now able to reopen to the public.
And every second Friday night since, at 7pm, Iβve seen itβthe count on the Town of Habitsvilleβs official website, right under βPopulationβ, ticks down by 1.
I wonβt begin to go into the details of my journey to find the human being that actually updates our townβs websiteβit involved an incredibly long and perilous internet search, a day spent wandering around town, and eventually a fake address that led to an abandoned warehouse.
But I know itβs not a glitch in the system. People that Iβve known all my life, constants in my day-to-day, are just gone. Another one of my coworkers at the paper. My favorite waitress at the best restaurant in town. A guy I went to high school with. Theyβve all disappeared, one a month for the past six months.
And what do they all have in common?
They all purchased tickets to The Habitsville Planetarium, for the highly advertised Friday Night Special: A Night Amongst The Stars.
So there I was, the second Friday of the month, at 7pm, sitting amongst the crowd in the darkened Planetarium.
I was nervous, to be sure. Although I knew it didnβt make much sense, and it was more of a hunch than any sort of hard evidence, there was still something frightening about being in t
... keep reading on reddit β‘Inspired by the post of u/ThatMusk a few days ago about before-after posts, I wanted to show what my weight loss has been so far after 30 days.
As you can see, I have lost 12 kg (26.5 lbs). The graph shows the plateaus I went through and I must admit that when the third one came I was exhausted, disappointed, and ready to give up. I always see posts of people losing 1 lb per day or sometimes even more. Obviously this isn't the case for me. It's not my first extended fast but it's the first time I kept going despite all the stalls and slow weight loss.
What I learned in those 30 days is that the scale isn't so important and can't give the complete picture of what changes are taking place in your body. I can feel a huge difference when I put on my clothes, and I can see some changes in the mirror. I still have a long way to go, but I'm sure that my body is taking care of other things too. I would like to believe that autophagy is real and I won't end up with lots of loose skin when I reach my goal weight. In fact, thinking of autophagy helped me get through the plateaus. It might sound silly but I was thinking that perhaps my body needs those 3-4 days to focus on getting rid of extra skin instead of losing fat. Most likely that's not how it works at all; what I'm saying is what kept me focused and determined to carry on with the fast.
One more thing I learned is that taking electrolytes in the morning is super important. Now I take electrolytes 2x/day, once when I wake up in the morning and then around 6:00 PM. After lots of experimentation, that's what works best for me.
I haven't lost a lot of weight yet and I have a long way until I'm at a healthy weight, but I hope that my post inspires others who may not be losing at a fast rate (pun intended) and are struggling to keep it up.
Edit: For reference, my stats are: 30F, 1.65m, SW for this fast: 110 kg (5'5'', 242.5 lbs).

It's weird, given how popular and high rated PunPun is, no one is translating Downfall, i have been waiting since April to read a new chapter, because it serialized in the same time with Trail of Blood, so it should be out 8 or 9 chapters right now.
Downfall is Asano Inio newest work, take on realistic and depressing theme, which means it has the potential to walk the same path of PunPun, Dead Dead Demon is his next work after PunPun but it's not really realistic since it is about alien and stuff, so I'm really hype and expecting great drama from this series, so fans of PunPun and Asano Inio around the world, let's jump on the hype train right now and pay more attention to this series.
F.D. Arrrrrrrr!!!
Including that Rockets game, the warriors are 7-2 since Wiseman's injury.
They ended up with 116.7 OFFRTG, 104.9 DEFRTG, and 11.8 NETRTG in the 9 games stretch.
Only positive among Dems, even independents have her at -25 net.
This is what happens when you artificially elevate a politician who was so unpopular in the primary process that she had to literally drop out to avoid getting single digits in her own home state, despite having damn near the entire DNC-friendly media apparatus shilling for her from day one.
Makes me wonder if there's some pause among the Dem establishment/donor elite in having Joe step down before the term as to backdoor her into the presidency.
