A list of puns related to "Otorhinolaryngologist"
I'm at my wits' end. For a long time I've been considered shy, and to a degree, I am, but I'm also a very quiet talker. That isn't by choice. I stupidly considered these different issues, or I maybe I just didn't want to deal with it. Anyway my voice is low and I physically cannot yell. I constantly have to repeat myself & take really deep breaths just to talk at a volume people do normally. I basically cannot have conversations outdoors unless 1on1 & I've given up entirely on parties/clubs. Earlier today I was behind someone on their phone, I said "excuse me" multiple times but they couldn't hear me. I had to "yell" it, which just meant normal man volume but because of my tone & the strain you can hear it seems like I'm mad. She got an attitude then told me I should have spoke up. That kind of thing happens a lot to me. I've put this off long enough, I feel like I should see someone about this. I feel really certain this is unnatural, that something is wrong. Did a bit of Google searching & I feel like I've found the kind of specialist for this problem. Am I right?
20 year old male, average height and weight, normal HR and BP. Symptoms: chronic sinus pressure, congestion, and rhinorrhea, exasperated by dust, pollen, and changes in the weather (humidity, mostly). A sore throat is common, as is ear pain. I often have trouble sleeping, because laying flat can cause my nose to clog. (A perpetual cold, basically.) I also get gustatory rhinorrhea, in case that matters. Structural deficiencies of my nasal passageways are present but slight.
After a few years of complaining to pediatricians, I got a referral to an otorhinolaryngologist. (Not a good one, sadly.) ENT 1 scoped my nose (dutifully not talking to me first, because OF COURSE I would have said "No."), ordered a CT, and gave me oral antibiotics (his second favorite oral antibiotics - he couldn't intimidate me into not being allergic to his favorite). When the CT came back, he diagnosed me as having chronic sinusitis following acute sinusitis and that surgery to remove infected scar tissue might help. (I did sleep better on the antibiotics, though.)
Some time later, I was in the ER, following a three hour nosebleed. This got me a second referral to otorhinolaryngology, where I was now seen by ENT 2. (I was tactfully told that "ENT 1 does not work here anymore.") ENT 2 did not see any evidence of infection on my CT, so he treated me for allergies. Unfortunately, over the counter allergy medication did not help (if it's OTC and has "congestion" on the box, I've tried it) and a blood test for allergies came back negative. At my latest and last visit to ENT 2, he said that the medical treatments had been exhausted (though we hadn't tried prescription drugs) but we could surgically widen my nasal passageways and see what happens (my words).
I've learned to live with the perpetual cold, for the most part, but I thought it was worth seeing what other ENTs thought of all of this, before resigning myself to a life of frequent nose-blowing, yawning, and cold symptoms. Thanks.

Stuttering is something I've had to deal with pretty much my entire life, and now (I'm 20) I'm finally doing something about it. In a couple hours an otorhinolaryngologist will see me and I really don't know what to expect. I don't know why I'm just really nervous about it.
Do you guys have any experience with these types of therapy? Anything you can share?
even though i know its easier done than said.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Hi all,
If one has mild VS and they are not bothered by it, it seems that after some basic checkup, one should be fine to go.
> Please, I do not want to cause unnecessary health anxiety to anyone: it may be that most of these tests are unnecessary in your case, but I think it is important to have them listed clearly somewhere. Some of these tests are expensive and most of them should not show anything interesting in a VSS patient. Many are redundant. Do not take this as a list of all the tests you should necessarily do, but as a list of the tests you may be prescribed. I am sorry for the title, it is misleading.
However, after developing VSS that continues to progress after some months, it seems reasonable to start pushing for more specific testing. I am collecting a list of the tests a patient with VSS could be prescribed, but I realize that these are just a few.
I would like the list to be extensive: even if the test would detect a possibly very rare condition, I would like to know about that possibility.
Basic ones.
Eye examination.
Autoimmune conditions.
Specific ones.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
I won't be doing that today!

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
