A list of puns related to "Mnr"
Is it possible to run Hudson line trains to Penn without doing work besides building stations?
considering the fact that the r46 ran on the lirr main line
Asking since the website still says they are in effect (https://new.mta.info/fares/lirr-metro-north and https://new.mta.info/coronavirus) but both the website and MyMTA App now show βPeakβ for morning trains into the city / evening trains out of the city when it used to show βOff Peak.β Thank you in advance.
Edited to say I think my dilemma has been solved. Now that I know about Spot Hero, I should be all set to just drive into Manhattan and park.
Hi all, we live in Rochester NY, And are coming down in a few weeks for vacation, me, my 17-year-old son, and two of his friends. My father has convinced me that being a western NY suburban girl with a minivan, actually driving into the city and trying to park would not be a good idea! When he goes down for Yankee games, he says he leaves his car at the Metro-North railroad station in Beacon. I am just wondering if It would be feasible for me to drive further south before picking up the train. For one, I will be buying tickets for four of us, So if I get closer I could save some money. And two, I plan on bringing some of our groceries with us, especially some frozen meat. The cost of living up here in Rochester is a tad less than down there I am guessing! My plan is to have my large camping cooler in my van, but when we get on the train we would grab the bags of food out of that cooler and just carry them with us. So the less time we spend on public transportation the better.
Let me edit my post, and I'm glad I could amuse some of you haha. We are staying5 nights In the general area of times square. It looks like parking down that way is $70 plus a night. The train from beacon to grand central is roughly $20 each times four And then doubled for heading out after our trip. $160 is certainly better than 350 or 400. But if I can get that $160 down I would appreciate that. Parking at beacon looks to only be a few dollars a day, so lets say 10x5 days. You can just ignore the part about me bringing food, it's just what I do to save money. We have access to a full kitchen. No I am not bringing 5 days worth of food, and we will most certainly be eating out especially lunches. And we will be shopping for some of our staples for our breakfast and dinners.
So with all that, my question is - is there a station further south on the MNR route where I would have no trouble getting a long-term parking spot on a weekday mid-afternoon? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated!
Been riding LIRR and MTR to commute for years and realized they don't snip those little white tags and stick them on the seats anymore. So when I show my ticket on my phone, they just look and nod and proceed walking down. But there's like 300 people on the train, with dozens getting off and on every stop, how do they remember who has and has shown them their tickets already without an eidetic memory?
Have there been any updates on when the new Siemens units are due to arrive on the Hudson line? The last I saw was mid-2026. Does anyone know if new coaches on order as well?
MNR resumes limited service on the Hudson line tomorrow. Amtrak will resume Empire Service at normal schedule tomorrow, although the app still says service is suspended.
I personally find the MNR Train Time to work better than the LIRR, but i mostly use it to browse train route frequencies and prices. For this task MNR is better imo, as it shows the prices for a route in the app, and the app seems to run better.
But for actual daily travel, I canβt say for sure which is better.
Due to the dangerous political climate of Bolivia and the recent left-insurgency President Hertzog has banned the Movimiento Nacionalista Revolucionario (Nationalist Revolutionary Movement) from participating in the 1949 Legislative Election. With the MNR no longer able to participate the Bolivian police force has been given warrants to arrest some of the more radical MNR leaders, hopefully shutting down any opposition that would come. Unfortunately the banning of MNR has proven to be incredibly unpopular with the working class and has caused protests to erupt in Santa Cruz, La Paz, and Sucre. The protests as of yet have been peaceful but with the recent insurgency Bolivia is a powder keg ready to blow. Police have been attending the protests to keep them from spilling over and damaging Bolivian businesses and there has been rumours of undercover police infiltrating the protestors.
While the banning of MNR was unpopular among the working class, it did gain support from the bourgeoisie business owners and the political elite. Despite this support Hertzogβs own party Partido de la UniΓ³n Republicana Socialista (Republican Socialist Unity Party) has begun to distance themselves from him and instead placing favour to his VP Mamerto UrriolagoitΓa. UrriolagoitΓa also held the support of the Bolivian Army and is very dedicated to keeping the Bolivian Oligarchy alive in a more aggressive way than the more conciliatory Hertzog. Although no action has been taken against Hertzog if the elections run poorly for the PURS he may be forced to resign.
I plan on taking Metro North back from the game tomorrow and saw a ticket option called MNR Yankees Gate Pass. I can't find anything about it online and the MTA (shocker) has nothing about it on their website. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks in advance
Yes, the east Bronx is underserved by commuter rail and deserves access to midtown, but doesnβt uptown Manhattan as well?
It also seems like converting the west side line to a local passenger route would be logistically easier than building from scratch like in the east Bronx.
