A list of puns related to "Military Greeting"
Hello! I am currently stationed overseas, and a very nice Romanian soldier gave me this patch from his uniform. Can you help me identify if this was a unit patch of some sort? Thank you!

So, not 100% sure if this will fit amongst these great stories but here goes. Way back when I was in the military, as most vets can verify, lower ranks of service members are required to render the greeting of the day to higher ranking members. If it's an officer you render a salute followed by "Good morning sir/ma'am" or "Good afternoon sir/ma'am". If enlisted just a simple "Good morning SSgt" or "Good morning 1stSgt". You get the picture. So I had a platoon SSgt that hated my guts with a passion, I know because he told me quite often. He even told me many times that he wished he could just choke me to death rather than look at me. To this day I hate this asshole and his favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson. Incidentally he only lives about 2 hrs away from where I live now & he's still an asshole. So for weeks on end he would make these types of comments and eventually I'd had enough and I started being a smartass back to him. Now most of this happened under each others breath or when no one was around to hear each other talking shit to each other. Then my own natural paranoia got a hold of me and at times I felt like he was trying to set me up to really say something stupid so that he could write me up, NJP or whatever because I was getting to where I would say stuff in front of people including Cpls or Sgts. When I would say something he'd get a little shit eating grin on his face.
So one day it dawns on me that I'm supposed to give the proper greeting of the day to this asshat, report my post to him if I'm standing post ect. Couple days later we are at work and he does his natural routine, probably told me he wanted me dead or something and I simply said "Good morning SSgt!" then began to report my post like I'm supposed to. He plays the game the first time and listens. Next time we work same routine, he's making rounds, comes to my post, greeting of the day and begin to report my post. He cuts me off with a "Carry on." and something derogatory that I don't remember. This goes on for couple weeks to a point that he orders me not to report my post BUT you know the whole 6TH general order says I'm supposed to report my post so I continue. Seeing this asshole get pissed off every time I gave the proper greeting multiple times a day just filled my heart with delight. It was even better when I'd give the greeting and he reply with "STFU smooze420!" I'd then reply with "Aye Aye SSgt!" and he'd get more pissed. By the time I left I was saying "Good mo
... keep reading on reddit β‘Yes, no matter how many times Trump visits our troops in Iraq or in Syria or in Afghanistan, he cannot erase the fact that the majority of our brothers and sisters in military hate him for the way he treated one of our own favorites Jim Mattis, who earned the nickname "Mad Dog" for a reason.
Although I've to admit that his trip to Iraq yesterday was a welcome change from his earlier disrespects to our military like when he didn't attend the ceremony to honor our WWI war heroes in France.
And also the period when he'd shown total neglect of his duties to honor our soldiers on the Veteran's Day.
But what Trump doesn't realize is that by forcing his current Defense Secretary to resign by using a tweet obout his desire to withdraw from Syria immediately, Trump has touched a raw nerve of all the military personnel of this country and around the world.
And by appointing someone like Mr. Shanahan as a replacement for Gen. Mattis, Trump has inflicted tremendous pain to the morale of our brave men and women in uniforms after they came to know that their fake Commander-in-Chief has cut short the date of his Defense Secretary's end of his long service to the nation by two months just because Trump failed to read Mr. Mattis' resignation letter thinking it was his Defense Secretary's retirement letter.
A real stupid Trump never bothered to find out from the letter that Mr. Mattis wrote in it about his desire to stay in his job in the Pentagon until the end of February so that he could attend a special Session or the anual meeting of NATO where all the defense ministers of all the countries under North Atlantic Treaty Organization want to discuss in length about the threats to their nations from rogue countries like Russia and China, Iran, Venezuela et Al.
But now with Mr. Mattis' premature departure on Dec 31st of this year, "Who's going to protect our country from Russia and China and other rogue nations ?"
Not Patrick M. Shanahan, for sure.
