A list of puns related to "Milford Haven"
We are only with family Christmas Eve and the 26th because of family being in healthcare and working Christmas.
The two of us would like to go out for dinner on Christmas. In the past weβve gone to Heirloom, which has been great, but open to others, and even open to doing lunch and dinner. Nothing else to do!
Looking to get my septum pierced but looking for a reputable, experienced professional. Price is not an issue; I want this done correctly. Thank you!
Didnβt get to go out last night because me and my friends all had to work. Weβre looking to go out tonight but not sure if thereβs really anything happening. Suggestions for Bar crawls or just good Halloween bar scenes in general greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
We put of Mobjack bay marina yesterday early. As soon as we got into the bay we knew we were in for a rough day. We just didnβt know how rough it would getβ¦
3-4β waves greeted us with strong WNW winds. We were making great speed on the engine as it was too choppy to safely get the sail up, even reefed.
Got to the comfort point lighthouse and made the turn into the bay, where the chop got a bit better but the tide was now not our friend. It was at this point that we noticed the water spraying about the prop shaft coupling in the cabin. The boat is a 79 Catalina 30 with a brand new driveline.
Then the GPS went south on us and I had to resort to my phone for navigation. Not ideal.
We decided the water situation along with the nav issue warranted a call to Boat US. The boat US local dispatcher basically told us that weβre out of luck due to a small craft advisory. Told us if he had to call USCG that they would get us off the boat and that it then became a salvage operation and weβd lose the boat.
As we weβre taking on water he is required by law to notify local USCG. They got in touch with us and determined that they would send a boy out to assess the situation. They arrived 15 min later and came along side. Two guys hopped aboard and in a totally professional and kind manner calmed our nerves and went below to check things out.
They found the bildge totally full and water in all sorts of places it should not be.
The decision was made to tow us out. That my friends makes for a back breaking wet cold long trip. But much better than the alternative.
During the transit boat continued taking on water and we switched between us managing the pump to keep us afloat. We actually discussed what weβd do if we lost the pump. He called the skipper and the call was made of the pump weβd have to consider abandoning ship.
Thankfully we made it into Deltaville with their assistance and a kinder bot us captain came and escorted us into the marina area. We limped into Doziers and tied up.
New float switch goes in this week, we believe the prop shaft packing may have partially failed and that will also be inspected.
Over all a nightmare of a day but we made it with the help of those magnificent United States Coast Guard sailors! Utter professionalism!!!
Iβll post a couple of images next!
Edit: The boat has been inspected and the yardies cannot find a source for a leak. My concern is that the prop seal is leaking only when the prop is turning.
I need an adapter for this weekend (XLR to RCA), and Iβm pretty sure Iβm screwed since Radio Shack is extinct and the Best Buyβs of the world donβt stock anything like that. Going to try Guitar Center and Sam Ash but wanted to see if Iβm missing any other options (open today).
