We all know used car prices are through the roof at the moment. So today I had to appraise a 2018 Elantra SE and couldn’t believe what the thing was worth.
Here is a post showing a 2018’s value today and a 2017’s value a year ago
Basically, if you don’t want to click the link to screen shots... today a 2018 Elantra SE with miles in the low 60s is averaging $14,800 at dealer auctions. A year ago a 2017 (then a 4 year old car) with similar miles was averaging $8,075.
That means the same comparable car was worth just over HALF a year ago. I didn’t think Small sedans would have a jump like this. Quite the eye opener.

i scanned the previous posts in the sub & didnt get much info on Conestoga Valley School District. we're currently looking to buy in either manheim twp (good schools, close to downtown lancaster, & close to amtrak station - i still commute to philly) or just east in what would be considered conestoga valley school district.
we've had more success with homes fitting our preference in the conestoga school district, but haven't gotten any confirmation on how good the schools really are. it appears to be #121 in PA, whereas manheim is #61. conestoga has a pretty low college readiness score (seems to be an indicator referencing AP classes and exam scores), but still has solid math & reading proficiency rating.
i was hoping to get some first-hand experience on if it's really worth waiting on manheim or if conestoga offers similar to future prospects & im just overthinking all these rankings, etc. does anyone have insight into either districts & whether you'd adamantly recommend one over the other?

I’m not sure if someone can really tell me why Manheim Pike in particular smells like a combination of tar, oil, aerosol, and actual fuck for probably the last 15 years? Other than “lots of trucks”. Specifically near the BMW dealership and Chili’s. No other exit I know of in Lancaster is this potent.
My buddy is helping his uncle out at his local dealership and trying to help him convert some inventory acquisition online (this has been a crazy market for them). He's wondering of the above (TradeRev, ACV, Manheim Express) what would be the best to look into in terms of fees, prices, and inventory options? Should he use a mix of all 3? Thanks.
I’m relatively new to Manheim Township and Lancaster County in general (moved here at the end of 2018). Are municipal elections always this intense?
I’m getting mailers from both the R’s and the D’s just about daily, nonstop Facebook ads, feel-good ads, attack ads. This is more than I’ve seen in congressional races. It’s clear from the ads that both teams are working with legit political consultants.
The weird part is there doesn’t seem to be a major point of disagreement. It’s not like what we’re seeing in some other areas with Q’Anon nuts making a lot of noise. They’re talking about zoning.
Is this all about that proposed development near Oregon Dairy or some other issue? Or is this just the norm for MT? I’ve just never seen what must be tens of thousands of dollars going into township or school board races.
