Apparently if you kill jezebel the other robots in your settlement will become hostile towards you. the human(s)/ghoul(s) in your settlement don’t become hostile but instead “hate it”

Short online story of looking for human settlements across the galaxy, had a twist ending
There's a short story I read but I'm not sure if it's reddit or tumbler. I think I read a link to it from Facebook.
The story is from a alien talking about working with a human to search for human civilizations. Apparently the humans sent out multiple ships to start over on new worlds. They eventually find a ship but the main character is confused as there are no humans on the planet. The human assures MC that it's ok as they are looking for the sign of the 5 fingered hand. Not necessarily the human body.
The twist to the story is >!that the different alien species came from humans adapting and evolving to the different planets they landed on!<
I think that's the just of the short story. But my brain might have filled in gaps as it was a really short story.
Can human settlements survive in colder climates?
OK I should elaborate because obviously they can. What I'm trying to say is assuming humans had nobody to trade with, didn't have the technology for things like greenhouses, or transport for any long journeys and literally just had to live off the land completely independent for the foreseeable future. Could a human settlement survive in a place where the temperature never exceeds 20 degrees celsius (About 68 Farenheit)
Obviously animals do survive that so should I just make sure to keep the populations lower than the warmer regions.
