A list of puns related to "Health Canada"
This is his personal opinion, not the feds' official position. But he expects talks to happen about it in the coming months.

And I know, our government probably totally wouldn't do it unless other conservatives did, and enforcement is a whole other story. But it's worth talking about.
ETA: let's realistically assume this wouldn't mean holding people down and forcibly injecting them. That won't happen here.
ETA: .......I guess we're assuming that lol.
I (27f) just accepted a new job offer. Yay! I was super excited and I requested the health insurance coverage so that I could make sure it would cover enough. (My husband also has private health insurance through his job and I am covered under it. I just need to make sure it would cover anything his plan didn't!) I noticed that it explicitly called out that it did not cover prescription birth control of ANY kind. I panicked and googled it. Surely, it is not legal to not cover birth control?! Turns out, this isn't the case in Canada. It is perfectly legal for private health insurance companies to not provide coverage on birth control in Canada. (The States, however, has legislated that birth control cannot be exempted from coverage.)
I also couldn't help but notice, that my new insurance plan will cover up to $500 a year for erectile dysfunction drugs. I understand why that would be covered, I just don't understand why that would be covered and birth control wouldn't? (I know this obvious answer to this, I'm not stupid! But it's 2022, seriously.)
Also, I looked up my husband's coverage and they only cover the pill, not an IUD. I currently have an IUD, so I am not in an immediate position of needing another solution.
I am completely frustrated and just at a loss for words. I have never not had coverage on my choice of birth control (and I do not want to go back to the pill). Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation?
Has anyone had any experience switching from the IUD back to the pill? How did it go?
Hopefully this is the right sub. So everyone in Canada has health coverage, if someone has a baby for example how much does that usually cost? Does a person need private insurance in Canada? Online it says the gov healthcare doesnβt pay for dentists so without private insurance how much does a dentist usually cost? Also are the wait times actually long?
edit: this is my first post on this sub and I like it very much :) I especially love the maple leaf up and down vote
Dear Mr. S,
Thank you for your email enquiry regarding availability of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
This review, like the other COVID-19 vaccine reviews has been prioritized and has a dedicated team of scientific evaluators focused on its assessment. It is a rolling review, which means that the company can provide information to Health Canada as it becomes available. The primary reason that the overall time from when the review started to now is longer than with the mRNA vaccines, is that we had been waiting for information from Novavax on their manufacturing processes. This had been significantly delayed as they dealt with issues with their manufacturing processes and their scale up, to be able to demonstrate that they manufacture large quantities of the vaccine consistently. The clinical data, ie from the clinical trials, has been promising, however there continue to be a number of questions regarding the production of the vaccine itself. Health Canada isnβt alone in flagging these during the review, and weβve also been working with other regulators internationally who are also doing their own independent review of the vaccine.
The most recent data from Novavax was received only a couple of weeks ago, and reviewers are diligently working through it to ensure that it meets the same standards for safety, efficacy, and quality as all other COVID-19 vaccines did. Should the submission meet those standards, then the company would be best placed to indicate when theyβd be able to manufacture and supply the vaccines to Canada. We estimate that the review will be completed by the end of January if we are able to receive adequate responses to the questions weβve posed to the company. As we already have advance purchase agreements in place, there wouldnβt be any other requirements on the governmental side to fulfill.
I hope this information has been of some assistance to you,
Best,
Supriya
