A list of puns related to "Harvey Keitel"
I've searched tirelessly for the video. It was from a comedy fundraiser, I believe hosted by Jon Stewart, and I remember seeing it that night and it was absolutely hilarious. I've never been able to find it again, and anything I find in a Google search brings up a dead link.
Iβve already posted on what if Pesci and Brando were on the show, so I decided to ask about Keitel too. He is one of my favorite actors and one of the best βtough guyβ actors there are. Obviously I think one of the reasons he was never on was because of his former relationship with Lorraine Bracco and their custody battle, so it wouldβve been a little awkward.
Though hypothetically he wouldβve fit right into the show. Maybe as Old Man DiMeo, or another aging mobster. He has worked with David Proval (Richie) and Richard Romanus (Richard LaPenna) in Mean Streets,Tony Sirico in Fingers, James Gandolfini in Get Shorty, and later with Michael Imperioli in Life on Mars.
Heβs a fucking badass (see Bad Lieutenant) and definitely wouldβve been awesome to see in an episode. Even if just a cameo, it wouldβve been epic. Though a recurring role like other more established actors like Steve Buscemi and Joe Pantoliano couldβve added a new chapter on top of his already amazing resume. What do you guys think? Again heβs a great underrated actor, who do you think he couldβve played? Let me know.
I was looking through Harvey Keitel's filmography, when I realised that he's appeared in a few feature directorial debuts of some significant filmmakers:
Is there another actor with a similar claim to fame?
He's been in the first films of:
One of my favorite pieces of trivia for Reservoir Dogs, "Armed with $30,000 and a 16mm camera, Quentin Tarantino was all set to make the film with a bunch of friends, including his producing partner Lawrence Bender, who was going to play Nice Guy Eddie. It was then that Tarantino received an answerphone message from Harvey Keitel, asking if he could not only be in the film but help produce it. Keitel had gotten involved via the wife of Bender's acting class teacher, who had managed to get a copy of the script to him. Keitel's involvement helped raise the budget to $1.5 million. "
He has an amazing eye for talent
I just watched the film. I have always been a big fan of kietel. I think he's brilliant in every role. The film was put together well. I seen alot of things that seem fabricated and was wondering what you guys knew about it (I assume Hollywood will be Hollywood)
He used his muscle to uncover Nazi sabateurs on the NYC docks during WW2 and also uncovered an attack and saved lives in the process
He was present when Sal Maranzano was executed
He was given the opportunity to defend Siegel's life at a commission sit-down prior to them killing him
He was tasked personally by Batista to run the casino industry
He and Siegel owned a "66%" stake in the Vegas casino as opposed to a 34% combined stake divided by everyone else.
I assume all embellishments to bolster the story but still want to know if there is any merit to it. I have never read any of this about him. Any info you guys may have would be great. Sidenote I feel they could have gone into more detail on alot of things but still well put together.
